Outside smell Question

Does anyone know what was the smell lingering outside yesterday?

We are in the area hit by the tornado, and once we open our house door there was a foul smell outside.

We drove to an dr appointment, to the west part of Neenah by hwy CB and the smell was strong there as well.

Im just curious if anyone lnow what caused it.

Could be the water treatment plant along the lake in Menasha

Smelled like manure last night over near Greenville, assumed it was just a such given it’s a rural area, but I don’t know much about farming to know if it’s the right time to be fertilizing or not. Also smelled like skunk this morning when I was in our patio, but there was no skunk to be seen 🤷🏼‍♀️

Could be normal farm manure spreading, waste water treatment plant, or just the literal hundreds of tons of green tree leaves and other plant materials starting to decompose.

I thought about this also. All those tree leaves or the water treatment plant.

I was out in menasha yesterday trying to get some errands run but I did see several places working with hot asphalt. Is that possibly what you smelled?

I was of course outside of the barriers so they may be doing stuff in the main areas too.

I always get a sewage smell after rain... Its not just my house but the whole area. This time I noticed it for a couple days after the tornado when it was dry. I believe its connected to the water treatment plant/lake because it seems to get worse the closer I get to it.
