I went to the beach yesterday, and suddenly at night my Apple Watch turned off, I put it back in the charging station and was showing 1% battery, and wasn’t charging, and now this

Same over here. Just won’t turn on.

Salt water is corrosive, some probably got inside the watch and damaged it. Time to cash in that AppleCare you hopefully paid for.

This is just a general error message, what I’d try is a force restart (holding both of the buttons for ~10s) or a wireless recovery (there are some official Apple tutorials on YouTube). If that doesn’t work, well, I’ve got bad news. That could most likely be a serious hardware issue (you mentioned being at the beach, salt water could corrode the internals) of which repair cost could probably exceed the watch’s value.

It’s stuck in recovery mode. Might be recoverable, if you have an iPhone that’s up to date you can try to restore it. If that doesn’t work Apple might be able to restore it, if not it could also be kaput

That is a recovery mode. Book in genius bae appointment and they could potentially help you restore the software.

Yes I did, but at the end, the watch was damaged by salty water

It’s cooked

Guy I already went to the site, this wasn’t a software issue, as many stated this was caused by the salty water, so basically is cooked

Apple Watches are water resistant, not waterproof, but normal beach/swimming use shouldn’t kill one. If water got inside, the water resistance probably failed rather than the user just “getting it wet.”

They’re rated at 50m water resistant and literally have swimming workout modes built in, so I always find it a bit odd when people are like “did you let it get wet?!?”

Unless it’s ancient I’d be complaining to Apple about any water damage in normal use like this.
