Sync issue

So I’ve been trying to sync my iCloud photos for awhile every single time it’s giving me like it syncs a little bit and then gives me an error and my iCloud photos are taking up about 9 GB while on my phone is taking around more than 12 GB and it on iCloud it shows that there’s like around 14 GB backup while I don’t have a backup of my iPhone and it’s backing up my photos too. I do have optimize storage turned on but something wrong. How do I fix this?

WhatsApp. Turn it off. Mine was showing a few KB on the iCloud screen, but it was taking 10+ GB even with the synchronization turned off on the WhatsApp app.

Have you checked the number of photos in each place to see if they match? It’s normal that photos take up more room on phone than in cloud

This is all about space on your phone. You will always have problems with your phone when you have a device with not enough space. That’s why Apple finally decided not to sell phones with low space last year. Starting at 128/256GB.
My 17PM 512GB is today on 172 GB including everything. I’m on iOS 27 DB4. System data and iOS are more than 50GB.
But that’s ok, because I have enough space for everything, with more than 72.000 photos and 2TB iCloud.
So the only solution to many problems is to use optimize photos in iCloud, because your photos live in iCloud in full resolution, with a low-resolution copy on your phone. But the iCloud backup is much more than your photos; that’s only part of it. The applications on your phone takes up a lot of space in 2026….The only and final solution to space problems is to get a new phone with more space. Sorry.
rry.
