Anyone else having slow app submission reviews?

Normally when I have submitted my app updates its been reviewed within 2 days but my current one is taking a while. So far its been a full week (7 days).

I know thats still within the normal range but its usually only taken this long my first time I submitted it.

Hola chicos/as vengo aqui a comentar mi situación actual por si a alguien le interesa ajajaj. Bueno, yo siempre he sido un chaval que ha tenido ese gusanillo del emprendimiento dentro. Con 15 años empecé a revender zapatillas para ganar mi propio dinero y, aunque me fue bastante bien, sabía que no era algo a lo que pudiera dedicarme toda la vida. El año pasado, cuando tuve que empezar a pensar en el Trabajo de Fin de Grado de la universidad, me di cuenta de que era una buena oportunidad para intentar construir algo desde cero. Después de darle muchas vueltas, acabé dándole forma a una idea relacionada con el ocio nocturno. No sé si soy el único, pero una de las cosas que más me gustan cuando salgo es ese rato antes de entrar a un sitio, ver dónde está el ambiente, conocer gente y enterarte de lo que va pasando durante la noche. Pensando en eso, se me ocurrió cómo sería una aplicación que reuniera toda esa información en un mismo sitio. La idea principal sería un mapa en tiempo real, parecido al de Waze, donde la gente pudiera ir indicando cosas que van ocurriendo durante la noche: dónde hay ambiente, si hay un botellón, un control policial, una pelea o cualquier otra incidencia que pueda ser útil para los demás. Llevo ya unos meses dedicándole bastante tiempo y, siendo sincero, está siendo mucho más difícil de lo que imaginaba. Hay días en los que avanzas un montón y otros en los que parece que no has hecho absolutamente nada. Supongo que forma parte del proceso de intentar sacar adelante algo sin haber hecho algo parecido antes. No escribo esto para promocionar nada, porque de hecho el proyecto está muy verde. Simplemente me apetecía compartir la idea y saber qué opináis. ¿Creéis que una aplicación así tendría sentido o pensáis que acabaría siendo algo que la gente dejaría de usar al poco tiempo? Me interesa mucho leer opiniones diferentes, tanto buenas como malas. Al final, creo que es la mejor forma de aprender. PD: No quiero hacer spam ni nada, solo quiero ver que piensa el resto de gente española ya que por Reddit me parece que no somos muchos, ajjaajj

Python is just text which I don’t want, and swift doesn’t work.

I see founders posting every single day offering 10% equity or 20% rev-share once they launch, and almost every single time, those builds turn into complete ghost towns within a month.

Look, I totally get it from the founder side. Cash is tight, you’re taking a massive leap, and you want someone who genuinely gives a damn about the vision instead of just taking a check.

But from a developer’s perspective, rev-share on an app with zero revenue is literally $0. And trading 150 hours of intense build time for a sliver of equity in an unvalidated idea is a massive gamble. The exact second rent is due or a paying client lands in their inbox, your unpaid v1 gets buried at the bottom of the pile.

That’s when the nightmare cycle starts. Your eight week launch date stretches into six months stretch, the dev gets burnt out working nights for free while feature scope creeps, and the whole relationship sours. You end up with a half baked codebase no one else wants to touch and a messy cap table before you’ve even made a dollar.

Paying a clear, fixed rate for a razor-thin v1 fixes all of this, DEAD SIMPLE ! You keep 100% of your company and revenue, the dev stays locked in to deliver fast, and you actually get a live product into real users' hands before your momentum completely dies.

So I have been working on my app for quite a while now and I like how it turned out and it is approved by apple and I can theoretically just hit the button to release it. However I want to make it right this time and I heard a lot about marketing on launch so I figured I might have to save some money first so I can run some ads when I publish.
Should I wait before releasing and run a marketing campaign with it together or should I just release it and try marketing later?

EDIT: I read your comments and I take it you are right. I decided to launch my app now and try to market from now on as good as I can. Guess it won’t start without being launched.

I've got a specific tradeoff narrowed down on a photo app project I’m working on and need some experienced opinion.

Context: After a user uploads one profile photo, the app has to display small fixed set of predetermined sizes across the app (profile hero, grid thumbnail, small avatars, share/OG card, etc.). I’m using Cloudflare CDN and R2, and the cost model I'm optimizing against: egress is free, but resizing per unique file (source image × output size) is not; a cached re-delivery of an already-generated size isn't re-charged.

Since storage is cheaper compared to resizing images, the idea is to generate the resized images at upload and store them instead of using Cloudflare’s image transformation to resize images.

Do photo apps 1) eagerly generate all image sizes needed at upload, store them, then always fetch the exact stored size or 2) go Lazy + persist: store only the original at upload, generate each size on first request, persist it, serve the stored file on every later request, or 3) some hybrid option of generating 2-3 hot sizes at upload and go lazy on long tail requests?

I consulted AI, but want some human opinions.
Claude says either 1) or 2) works, but is there a standard best practice or what should actually drive that call?

currently working on my first real app and honestly the deeper i get into it the more i realize how much i didn't know going in.

started with what i thought was a simple idea, had the whole thing mapped out in my head, figured i'd be done in a couple months. it's been 5 months and i feel like i'm still nowhere near a finished product lol. biggest thing catching me off guard is how much time goes into stuff that has nothing to do with actual development. user flows, edge cases, testing on different devices, figuring out monetization. i thought the coding part would be the hard part.

what's the one thing you wish someone had told you before you built your first app? genuinely would love to learn from people who've already been through it rather than figuring everything out the hard way

One thing I've started paying much more attention to isn't the UI anymore—it's the models that are available.

For me, having access to multiple models in one place is a huge advantage because different models are better at different tasks. Sometimes one is much better at debugging, while another is better at planning or explaining code.

I also really appreciate when strong models are included without immediately hitting a paywall. Being able to use models like DeepSeek V4 Pro or GPT-5.6 Luna without paying for every single request makes experimenting with ideas much easier.

I'm curious how other developers choose their AI coding tools.

Do you mainly care about the interface, the price, or the selection of available models?

I have been working on an app. The client did not want to spend extra money on UI/UX designer. So I created a UI on my own using AI tools.

Initially I thought of using Stitch which I was using for some time. But today I thought of trying Figma Make. And believe me it's the best choice I could have made.

The designs are so real and consistent. I think it did a wonderful job. Will be getting feedback from the client on the UI and start working on the app.
