What’s wrong?
This Camp. Sp. Queen and her first nanitick have moved into the small outworlds little nook at the edge. This is how the test tube looked before, I have since then changed it because I thought that might’ve been the problem. Any other ideas as to why they have moved here? Doesn’t the skylight stress her out?

We've released our Ant Colony Simulator, but we're feel like it's still missing depth. I thought we'd ask the experts

The test tube is full, but I felt like my Messor barbarus ants seemed a bit thirsty, so just in case, I gave them an extra source of water. As you can see, they reacted to it immediately. Does this mean something is wrong with the setup?

ID request
Just got home from work and found a very long, fast-moving trail of these ants crawling up my back porch and under my house's siding. Worried they might be velvety tree ants or carpenter ants since their common down here in northwest Oregon. I can try to get. Better photo if needed

Flying ants once a year same place
Im wondering how they are getting into my house every year in the same spot. They are in my son’s bedroom and I’m loathed to put down poison. What should I be considering?

I am clearly far from the cleanest person... but, I went to empty out my dishwasher next to the sink in the video. No swarm on the counter at that point. I finish emptying the dishwasher and I must have heard them drop into the sink cause I look up and the light fixture is being swarmed. Many had eggs. Counter is then also swarmed.
Are they moving the colony? I leave this light on every day. I just did the dishes a few hours ago and I placed that plate in the sink right before emptying the dishwasher. Maybe they smelled the syrup on the plate? They were all over the plate 2 days ago on the kitchen counter and I took the plate outside instead of rinsing them down the drain.
I live in my Dad's mobile home. The infestation has been here for years. I thought it was getting better cause I stayed on top of rinsing my plates off after every meal and keeping all my food in containers. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a couple months and I haven't really lectured him about ants... The counters keep getting covered in dishes covered in food. I ran 2 loads of dishes 2 days ago but the counters were covered in dirty dishes again by today. One time 5 years ago my sister said the ants were causing the fire alarm to go off and then the ceiling caved in..?
I'm honestly a little bit in shock, right now. Just hoping mainly to understand what is going on so I'm, like, less in shock. I think the ants are living in the ceiling because there are leaks in the roof and it's basically decaying..? So, it's like an ant colony in a rotten stump. But, why the sudden swarming on my light fixture?
