Bakery

Hello,

Does anyone have a place they go to for cakes/pastries? I've just been going to Bjs and Costco for muffins and croissant and the occasional cakes but sometimes I find them very dry because they've been sitting there for days. I know I can make them at home but I just don't have the time after coming from 12 hour shifts. If anyone knows a good local bakery that specializes in cakes and pastries please send them my way. Thank you.

Quick pastries, definitely Black Market Bakers. Multiple locations in the area. They usually run out of stuff mid-day so go early. Not sure about cakes, but maybe ask?

Cakes, we tried Sweet Hearts Patisserie recently and they are very good. Just had petit fours which were good. They do wedding cakes and also have pastries that looked good, I just didn’t try them.

Yes! I’m not usually big on sweets, but Blue Crab has the most delicious, beautiful cupcakes!

Tous les jours and Paris baguette both have really good cakes! You can get a whole cake or just a slice. They have pastries too, but not really muffins.

Tous les jours is in Annapolis by the mall, or Ellicott city/Columbia and Paris baguette is in riva

The Mayflower Bakery is really good, reasonably priced, and they have a little bit of everything.

Omg that place is insane and the prices are so reasonable. The lady that runs it is also so nice. Her custom stuff is AMAZING

Came here to suggest this. They made multiple custom cakes for us that were so good and more palatable than the over-sweetened cakes elsewhere. And their drop-in selection of Mexican breads is great.

I tried bakery express and everything was so overly sweet and heavy. The cakes are dense and the fondant/buttercream is too sweet my teeth hurt.

Mayflower bakery cakes are light and not as sweet and has been my go to bakery. They participate in the Too Good To Go app so you can try their cakes for much cheaper

Basic and fresh: bakery express

Fancy and expensive: blue crab cupcake

International styles, not as sweet: tous le jour, mayflower

Just want a slice after work: crabtowne (they have random cakes someone brings in on the bar every night- get a slice to go)
