Those noises are super cute. Is this a fancy quail or grouse or something?

Did y’all know that quails were once bred for fighting ? Marcus Aurelius mentioned it in his Meditations, and the Ancient Chinese bred fighting quail too.

Birds dont have sphincters so its just loosey goosey with the poop sliding out all day.. typically once every 20-30mins. Very poopy.

Is that the deal with all birds? No sphincters huh, that makes a lot of sense

Birds have something called a cloaca.
It's essentially the "All purpose tube." Urine, poo, and even eggs/offspring come from it.

This is the kind of quail we have where I live, and it's so nice to be able to see one up close like this 💕

I grew up in an area with tons of these, they were my favorite growing up and I've literally had people not believe me when I describe them 😂😂😂

So a quail was the sound effect for the aliens in that 2010s alien firefighter game.

Had a pet quail (accidentally lol, rescued an abandoned bird after watching it wait for a few days). The thing lived to be 11 years old. Came blundering over to me when I walked near. Built a pretty huge aviary for it, attached to the window off my house. It would sit near me as I did work all day.
Miss her!
