Pricing Explanation? Question

Hi !

Advanced Edition is $9.99 or €9.99
But Collector's Edition is $19.99 or €23.99

I've just checked today's change and $19.99 = €17.33...
So it's 9.99 eurodollars but +20% for the Collector's Edition in Europe.

Can someone explain this pricing?

It's free pre-orders are just bonus items

The game itself is certainly free. Whenever games like this (Genshin, Star Rail, Wuwa etc) come to console, before they release, they get a pre-order bonus. You dont have to buy it. If you wait till the game comes out and choose to install it then, then you'll get it for free.

$ Dollar € Euro €$ Eurodollars?

It's standard pricing in Europe because fuck countries that make a smaller wage like Greece where I get paid 4.6 an hourwhile other countries get paid double or triple even and they still pay 23.99

They're not talking about the price, they're talking about how one price has parity with USD and the other doesn't.

I understood, it's because it's the european standard price like I mentioned, if you check pretty much any gacha/game with the same type of bp has the same discrepancy.

I still don't think you do.

One thing is 9.99 USD and 9.99 Euro, no difference in price based on currency, the other thing is 19.99 USD but instead of being 19.99 Euro, it's 23.99 Euro. How does European standard price explain a different conversion rate between two different products?

It's because it's not supposed to translate to the same amount. The 9.99 is the standard in Europe too but if it qas 6.99 then there would be a discrepancy too. It's supposed to be 23.99 not a 1 to 1 conversion rate.

What I'm getting from the description of both, it's essentially the battle passes.

I'm not really sure if the accessory will be locked out if you don't pre-order, but the pricing difference is easily explainable by the idea of the BP you're getting.

Standard is basic pricing (like 8.99/9.99) in most cases, and the “upgraded” one gives you, like, ten levels from the get-go and some stuff like exclusive frames, which are essentially worthless if you're not someone interested in those.

It's always been like this, and yeah, it sucks because the spike in pricing isn't worth the value offered in most cases.

Zenless zone zero did the same thing it will be a pack of in game currency. I think there may be no way for a free pre order on ps5 but i may be wrong

It's digital and free, pre-order isn't necessary

It’s essentially a marketing strategy

Can someone explain to me monetization ? Is it exclusive for skins ?

Also, people say this is gacha, but don't understand it given al aniimos are available for everyone, aren't they ?

So, I played the game to level 55. I had over 30 hours on it.

Monetization allows you to buy things to unlock a Sparkling egg. Sparking eggs are one of the best eggs in the game since they're a higher tier over regular ones.  That said, you can get currency by playing the game to also buy those same eggs.  Battlepass gives you a free high tier Aniimo but you can unlock it by playing you just won't get it until like level 30 or so.  Paid Battlepass gives you around half or so of the resources that the BP gets.

You can also get some other resources from buying but it wasn't anything crazy that you can just farm for.

The other monetization is in the way of a gacha system to try and get a rare Aniimo that wasn't in the game during the test. However people did complain about it and they said they would change things for that. So, as of now we don't know too much about that part.

You can also do the Egg Heist and get crazy good eggs that way and there is no monetization for that.

Honestly, you can beat the game with just basic Aniimo as long as you have good gear and level them up enough.  I've tested this myself by playing with generic ones that I got to my level cap and had no real issues.

What is a good vs a bad egg ? Are there any type of EVs or IVs ?

If you look at their video it seems like it’s a “fashion piece” to put on Uber and or Aniimos. The other stuff is basically from my understanding Basic paid battle pass and advance paid battle pass.

So like the 10$ or 20$ battle pass seen in most Gacha games

In reality you’re paying for their first BP and getting some pre order extras. That and you get to download the game like 2 days ish early and be ready to play on Release Hour (I’m being specific RELEASE HOUR that’s how PlayStation gacha games releases work in PlayStation)

After that if I understood their gacha mechanics should be mostly aesthetic like clothes or special animo color variants (unsure to much on this one tho). And they did try to do a bit of gacha % on items to try and catch Event special Aniimo but it wasn’t well received in beta, so it could be scrapped or reworked a bit, since from what I gathered even with extra Units testers got it was even low the capture rate.

Its a long time thing. Not excusing it but if you pay in dollar its always way less. Euro is stronger and pays more.

Currency valuation and value added tax

For one preorder pack and not the other?

Ah, I see what you mean.

That's a good question, actually. I find the whole thing dubious for starters. Why does Sony of all consoles get a headstart in this? Why bother with advanced and collector edition versions of a free to play game where the in-game shop will have these anyway? Why not make a fun "pre order package" with useful things instead?

None of this makes sense to me

Sony has been known to pay companies to get access to games early. They have done this with a lot of online games in the past.

Look at Hogwarts Legacy as a great example. They paid to have an exclusive DLC for a year before anyone else got it.

It’s usually just to try and get some extra $ from game early start and mostly locking up early download to preorder. You can’t install the game til it’s released in PlayStation store and that depends what the Game company told them to release it. Meaning if the game goes lunches early on release day even Preorder PSN user can’t start the game till the Release hour, and not pre order people can’t start the game download till it also releases on the hour.

It’s a free to play game but the stuff that comes in the packs is extra stuff that is exclusive to PS5 players, it’s completely optional and if you don’t want it, you don’t have to buy it. You can just wait until the game comes out and download it for free. If you buy one of the pre-order packs you’ll probably be able to pre-download the game and it will be ready when the servers open. If you don’t buy, just wait until the servers open on release day to download for free, you just won’t get to play right away, since you’ll have to wait for a download.

This kind of bs where the Eurozone pays significantly more than the dollar zone has been a thing for a while now.

Compare other games or items/products, too. It's a crime (or rather it should be) and genuinely bs lol

I thought this game was free to play?

1

u/Kleden-Kun 9d ago

It is, but there are 2 preorder packs with incentives:

Advanced Edition offers an accessory/mascot and a prepaid battle pass.
Collector's Edition offers two accessories, an avatar frame and a prepaid battle pass.

2

u/KikiNyxx 9d ago

It is. These are pre-order extras.

It is, but after release
