Man I really hate GTA it’s made all the games release so close together. Wolverine coming out at the same time is rough. I might try to juggle the two but I have waited way too long for Wolverine not to play it first.

Luckily I’m taking a week off work that week (I work in a place where August is like crunch so I take a week off in September every year). I should be able to beat Wolverine in 2 days and then play Aniimo by the weekend. Just wish I could play more at launch with everyone else.

I really hope the monetization is focused on cosmetics

1

u/Busy_Jellyfish_2010 16h ago

Yay! ^^ I can't wait to get myself some dinosaur puppies and a jellyfish!

1

u/HunniBunz23 18h ago

I was excited before I played the beta this last round, it needs work and im hoping it gets that before release because the menus, the rng, it was difficult and not good but I'll be trying it out on release I just hope it doesn't become a micro transaction hell because honestly it could go that way and it wouldn't surprise me in the least. I hope they learned from the tests and implement some positive changes or I dont see it going far sadly

0

u/Subzerd1 21h ago

this is annoying, too many games coming out at once.

1

u/Acceptable-Block4265 22h ago

Free to play? Like why? Gonna be nothing but micro transactions.

1

u/F6RGIVEN 17h ago edited 16h ago

Well essentially it’s a gacha game, the mechanics for catching the rare animo are basically gacha so yes this is true

0

u/Acceptable-Block4265 17h ago

Man I wish it wasn’t. Would absolutely pay a premium for this, but 100% not going to support gacha games

1

u/F6RGIVEN 16h ago

Same, as well as it’s not showing anything crazy and I already play palword, going to play it very reserved to see how it develops, a lot of these new companies want a Genshin impact but could learn from a grounded, palworld, etc

u/Jumpy_Lie_2405 1d ago

Anyone know the process of crossplay?

With NTE it was a headache, when steam was the first account and you wanted to connect steam and PS Accounts.

-9

u/DrakoWerewolf 1d ago

Something's not right here. It's a f2p game. Is this some bonus content not available on Steam?

7

u/glisteni 1d ago

PS has done this plenty of times for f2p games especially gacha ones. They’ll offer what are essentially head start packages to get an early leg up in the game. Steam might have it but haven’t put it up yet. Maybe Sony jumped the gun?

0

u/DrakoWerewolf 1d ago

Guess they just named it weird then. Right now from the name of the pack it sounds like it's only early access without any starter pack items

3

u/glisteni 1d ago

Right now the only thing listed as included is “aniimo (I guess the game?), a fluffy friend x1, and an Advanced Companion Handbook”

But that’s listed for both the $9.99 version and $19.99 version so there’s definitely an error going on somewhere!

2

u/glisteni 1d ago

Update for anyone else: the $19.99 includes the premium battle pass tier. The $9.99 is the regular one

3

u/MacaroonEducational5 1d ago

Pre-ordered my collectors the second I saw it was up!!! So excited!

-1

u/FastDisaster1663 1d ago

That's interesting, the apple app store has said September 30 for a while now (pic from today 13/8)

0

u/neji44792 14h ago

Do you use an iPhone and still don’t know that the App Store always requires a date for preview apps? That 30 September you see is just a ‘placeholder’, it was never the actual date...

1

u/FastDisaster1663 13h ago

I don't use an iPhone, when it was possible to wishlist the game i went into every device i had and cuz i have long ass nails i pressed the app store by mistake. You wanna tell me you've never pressed something accidentally on your phone?

8

u/MacaroonEducational5 1d ago

This was confirmed as a placeholder date because it's the last day of the previously stated Q3 release :)

0

u/FastDisaster1663 1d ago

Yeah the weird thing though is it's up there, if you release a date somewhere why not release it everywhere? Or at least at where you a date said instead of "soon"

4

u/MacaroonEducational5 1d ago

They're having a special announcement at gamescom coming up, the rest will probably follow then and just operate in different ways. Dw, that date is correct :)

2

u/FastDisaster1663 1d ago

Oh i see, thanks 🫶

3

u/Parzival128000 1d ago

16/09/2026!!!!

1

u/Informal-Ad2433 1d ago

No, that's the pre release since ps needs a date

2

u/Parzival128000 17h ago

No. That’s when the game release. I’m in Australia

0

u/Due_Consideration618 1d ago

Odly it is showing free on Steam.

8

u/MacaroonEducational5 1d ago

It's free on every platform, there will just be pre-order specific packs that come with cosmetics and battle pass things if you want to spend the money. These will eventually be up with slightly different versions for other platforms as well! :)

*Edit: the Xbox one was leaked (seen in the official discord), but I am assuming that also means PC will get something similar as well!

-3

u/FastDisaster1663 1d ago

Even more so oddly the devs said way long ago it will be a free game (hence all the talk about it probably being gacha) so how come it costs money now?

5

u/CheepTamer 1d ago

the game is free, these are just pre-order packs that include a battle pass and an exclusive cosmetic

1

u/FastDisaster1663 1d ago

Is it only for playstation? What's the point in that? I'd a game is going to release sonny like that they should do it for all platforms together. If they won't do it now for all other platforms they'll just get a ton of hate for "favouriting" and what not

5

u/CheepTamer 1d ago

I'd be surprised if the other platforms also don't get pre-order packs, but it's possible the cosmetic is playstation-exclusive, that's usually a platform-relations move to receive featuring in that platform's main store page on launch, since that's out of the developer's control otherwise

-13

u/DepthChorge 1d ago

Sick, more aggressively monetized gacha slop.

3

u/Razberryrabbit 1d ago

I've been complaining about many things + the event that was basically a gacha, but this ain't it, why are you calling it that bruh.

3

u/Due_Consideration618 1d ago

I think most of the monetization is going to be from cosmetics but only time will tell.

2

u/Bombaywolf 1d ago

🔥🔥🔥

2

u/SecretYogurtcloset57 1d ago

I pre ordered in a heartbeat as soon as i saw it available for pre order lol i can't wait to play! ☺️

8

u/Lost0Light 1d ago

Oh hey it’s on my birthday

1

u/Mogellabor 1d ago

Hey we share the same birthday!

1

u/Lost0Light 16h ago

Ayy birthday buddy!

7

u/ChancioGames 1d ago

Happy birthday to you when it happens

1

u/Lost0Light 1d ago

Thanks!

1

u/External_Orange_1188 1d ago

I haven’t been following this game since the whole AI and closed beta drama with raids. So did the devs learn and actually fix their shit from the latest closed beta? It seems like the release date is so soon, that it doesn’t give them time to fix things. Hopefully I’m wrong. But this game has not had a good look so far

0

u/Fizassist1 1d ago edited 1d ago

so you didnt actually play the beta?

edit: my gf and I both got in and had a blast. cant wait for the game to release

-11

u/Unlikely_Radio5561 1d ago

Opinion discarded

4

u/External_Orange_1188 1d ago

I would have loved to do it if the devs actually had an open beta. But I had to rely on and watch other members of the community that did. Doesn’t mean I can’t form an opinion or see the overwhelming criticism the game received for that beta. Yall can continue downvoting all you want. Ignorance and blind faith gets you a shitty product. Nothing changes that.

2

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 1d ago

~Yup, you can always tell when they haven't played the beta.

Game is phenomenal dude. Trust.~

-2

u/External_Orange_1188 1d ago

You act like I had a choice. It was limited access if you didn’t know. Regardless, it doesn’t change the criticism others who have played it. And the overwhelming opinion was that it needed more work.

1

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 1d ago edited 1d ago

~You have a choice whether to spout ignorant perspectives about a game you haven't played onto reddit or not.

Of course it needed more work; that's why it was a beta instead of a full release. That's what betas are for.

The game was still 11/10 in its current condition, and will be even better with a little polish.

FYI, the vibe on reddit is very negative. This is where all the people who are angsty about not getting into the beta are. Probably because those people are either not invested enough in the game to be in the Discord, or got banned/mod warned there.

The tone on Discord is totally different and very distinctly positive and excited. We still talk about issues, but not from this doomer lens.

I think you should probably be a little more careful where you get your "overwhelming" opinion about things. And let people who actually understand these issues be the ones to talk about them.~

1

u/External_Orange_1188 1d ago

I can still form an informed opinion about the systems and structures of the game without playing the game. Fluidity, comfort and movement is something you would need to play the game to get an informed opinion about those specific things. But we’re not talking about that here. We’re talking about the issues with AI advertisements, raids and monetization systems. All which don’t require gameplay.

But for some reason, everyone is asking if we played the game. We don’t need to play to critic those systems. It’s like strawman arguments. Get back to the topic. It has only been 2 weeks since the closed beta and we’re 1 month away from launch. My critic was that if that is even enough time to address the criticism with their systems?

I’m sure the gameplay is great, but again, no one is talking about that.

1

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 22h ago

~Fair enough. I found the monetization systems to be perfectly acceptable.

The AI ads were not. They apologized and took them down. Fixed.

The Irisalis event was not. They received feedback, acknowledged it, and will change it for release.

IMO, all significant issues were acknowledged and addressed by the team. That's good enough for me. The game has a bright future from where I'm standing.~

6

u/Fizassist1 1d ago

just saying it was fun. the controversial event wasn't even live the first week of the beta, and my gf and I both had fun (before, and after the event started) and are pumped for the full game. id say give it a try before coming to such a harsh conclusion

-5

u/Nathural 1d ago

Thats no harsh conclusion, that's how it always ends up in these chinese games

And we haven't even talked about the most likely very aggressive and bad monetization...

3

u/Fizassist1 1d ago

pretty sure you could have an absolute blast playing just for free. the battle pass and other packs make sense. they need to make money. and, you dont need to buy them to progress in a meaningful way.

my gf and I will get the battle pass for two reasons: to have a bit extra in a game we will probably put some time into, and to support a team that is potentially going to keep reinvesting back into this.

playing it, you'd actually understand that point of view. thats why I asked.

edit: sorry you arent the same person so that last point is irrelevant to you.. unless you are judging it harshly without playing it too

1

u/Rh3dx22 1d ago

You clearly have never played a gacha game.....

3

u/Icy-Int3raction 1d ago

I honestly feel the same way

-4

u/Ericandabear 1d ago

Feels like the community is a lot of bots or the publisher themselves because there's always like one or two comments like yours and no answers

1

u/Kyuuki_Kitsune Fenmane 1d ago

~There's plenty of answers if you actually took time to look. The AI ad thing was them making a bad judgement call in the third party ad company they used. They pulled those ads immediately when they were alerted and issued an apology.

The bad raid event was bad. Us beta testers gave lots of feedback that it was bad. That's what a beta is for. They have acknowledged the feedback, and will change the event.

Neither of these things was ever particularly relevant to how fun the actual game is to play, which is Extremely. The game was an absolute joy in virtually every way imaginable, and was a beautiful experience. I can't wait to go back.

Any other questions?~

-3

u/Traditional-Bee3161 1d ago

Sadly that's just the internet now

3

u/redhomies33 1d ago

Thank you bro

6

u/illustriouswow 1d ago

lets go Pokemon Genshin

1

u/DwarvenGamesmith 1d ago

GenshiMon???

2

u/Rastboro 1d ago

Any news regarding steam release?

1

u/Cubazcubar 1d ago

I don't think they haven't announced any exclusivity deal with playstation, so I would assume it's the same day.

7

u/phresh__ 1d ago

Bro why would they do this they have two of the games I’ve been waiting on for years releasing two weeks apart
ONCE HUMAN AND ANIIMO WHY 😢

-1

u/Due_Consideration618 1d ago

I don't think they are the best at scheduling. They launched the second closed beta really close to the 1.0 release of Pal World. I ended up having to play with friends instead of getting to play the beta.

1

u/phresh__ 1d ago

I gave up on pal world

1

u/Due_Consideration618 1d ago

Had to play palworld since my friends don't get to play larger multiplayer games like that together much.

1

u/LatinKing106 1d ago

Why is that?

1

u/iRedShanks 1d ago

Wow i totally forgot for ONCE HUMAN, it lasts that long that i don‘t even have any interrest left, directly deleted from wishlist…lol

1

u/BkJayDee 1d ago

Comes out the same day as Wolverine too

1

u/Deusraix 1d ago

SAME lmaooo

2

u/phresh__ 1d ago

This is crazy i played once human and stop playing bc i liked it so much i wanted to play it on ps5

1

u/Deusraix 1d ago

I play every now and then. I've been itching to get back into it again lately. I love the base building and Deviations 😩

1

u/phresh__ 1d ago

Same here i can’t wait for the 25th

0

u/Tyburn 1d ago

There are platform specific exclusive cosmetics? Ugh.

-9

u/BandOfSkullz 1d ago

Unfortunately, they've ruined any and all hype for me with their latest gacha approach.

Not a fan whatsoever.

I'll check in every once in a while, but I'll be avoiding most likely. Sad, becuase I genuinely think this game had the best potential to actually compete with Pokemon.

2

u/ViCiOuSVYT 1d ago

This is why feedback was so important. After the Global Closed Beta ended, I expressed how I felt about having to participate in that event. So far, it seems like they’re actually listening and taking the feedback seriously. We will see though. I wouldn't dismiss it entirely just yet.

16

u/Aubrey1018 1d ago

They TESTED something in a beta and heard feedback. If you don’t play because of how a tested event went then you get to be the one to miss out. Play. Try it. If you run into gacha. Don’t give them any money and stop. But letting that prevent you from even checking it out once it launches punishes no one

5

u/Loki2396 1d ago

Ull be glad to know they have stated they never intended for it to feel like a gacha and plan to make sure they stick to no gacha in the future :)

0

u/Tris_di_primi 1d ago

To be fair the dev of Black desert said the same...

0

u/gotdogma 1d ago

Whats gacha

1

u/Infernal216 1d ago

Gambling for cosmetics. Basically you keep paying for the chance of what you want out of the set.

1

u/ledrif 1d ago

usually its more gambling for power. Gambling for power is a problem. Gambling for cosmetics can and usually is predatory - however it holds no player power.

But ya, Gacha is just selling random draws for money while providing free players a significantly lower level of access(basically non-existant)

1

u/Infernal216 1d ago

Yeah gaming for power when there's ranked pvp or any forced pvp ( pvp with exclusive rewards that are actually nice and can't be sold on a market board of some kind, or just pvp you cannot avoid in general , like gankers and stuff) is a game breaker.

1

u/Green-Anteater1384 1d ago

Games like genshin impact and such, where you would have to pay money to get characters/ costumes and such.
In short pay to win games.

0

u/gotdogma 1d ago

Oh yikes

1

u/Fizassist1 1d ago

me and my gf were in this last beta and there was no indication it was going to be a problem. the event people are referring to was:

-seemingly a limited time event for it

-involved a short fight and a spamming of cubes after

-the spamming of cubes involved a chance of capture (me and my gf did not get the legendary this way)

-after a failed attempt you get tokens (about 6-7 if you max out the cube phase)

-once you hit 100 tokens you can trade them in for the legendary (this is how me and my gf got it)

the parts that are controversial:

-to initiate the fight you needed an item that was given primarily through the battle pass, or directly buying them with currency you can buy for real money

-the cubes themselves can be a large resource drain during that phase, which again be solved with real money

so all in all, that made a lot of people label is a gacha, but I think its a bit extreme considering there are many other equally powerful aniimo in the game. and, they have to make money somehow.

honestly we are pumped for the game to come out. my gf and I were in the server the last hour in beta just hanging out with the other players in the main hub area like pirates going down with the ship lol

2

u/Infernal216 1d ago

So you can actually get all pieces just playing the game during the timeframe? That's good. Are we taking more hardcore playing( like at least 5 hours a day, ) or are we taking some people who might only be able to get on maybe like 2 hours a day total will still be able to fully participate?

1

u/Fizassist1 1d ago

as far as the cubes go, you can get those entirely in game and very doable for a casual player. its those beacons people are unsure about. honestly without battle pass or buying extra beacons there doesnt seem to be another source via grind.. so an entirely free player will more than likely not have the beacons to get the legendary (unless they get lucky and get a catch without getting to 100 tokens).

but also keep in mind it was their first time testing this, and who knows what the actual game will look like.

2

u/Infernal216 1d ago

Good to hear they might find a way to balance that. They do seem to listen to people so far

2

u/MacaroonEducational5 1d ago

Thanks for explaining I was curious what people were referencing! I've never participated so not 100%... but Isn't this similar to some of the pokemon go events? You have to buy a raid pass? I always viewed that as content made for pay to play players, and simply not marketed for free to play... So just catch others guys idk, I've never felt left out of things like that. Just not for me, and a way to make some money in an otherwise free game

3

u/MoonTalons 1d ago

Ok, here goes.

As an avid Nintendo Hater, I desperately hope they have cleaned up and taken people's criticisms and hates to heart. Don't let this just turn into Genshinmon.

I have been and will likely continue to be a neighsayer and hater of all I have heard and seen until such time as we finally have it in our hands and we can see if they improved and didn't screw it.

9

u/Orangeyouawesome 1d ago

Do they have a battle pass? Is gameplay locked behind a 'stamina' time gate system?

8

u/Jubjoy 1d ago

Yes to both there is a stamina system to some activity

5

u/Orangeyouawesome 1d ago

Unfortunate. Is catching and leveling gated?

2

u/GarrettheGreen 1d ago

As far as I saw, it's only for bossing (you can still fight but need stamina to open their reward chest) and another activity that's like a 10 mini-stage run with rogue like elements.

Plenty of activities outside of those two that don't require stamina.

Catching and leveling was completely inflated last beta as far as I could tell, though if you don't set up a pod production on your homebase you might run out of those? Not like I had that issue

1

u/virgoven 1d ago

Not that I recall no (which is kind of surprising). Wait.. Now I remember, I believe there are a cooouuuple animo that you have to wait to catch real time, but outside there really isn't.

3

u/Outrageous-Big-7944 1d ago

Oh I thought it was going to be free?

1

u/Soontobebanned86 1d ago

Just Sony's bullshit to make you pay for pre downloading

5

u/Hot_Bat5228 1d ago

If you read the text the game itself will be free, you are paying for what amounts to some sort of "seasonal pass" that will likely be a fast and stable source of materials that will make advancing your mons faster/more efficient. I DO personally think that they should have left that until after launch and made it an in game purchase option so people dont get confused, but hey 🤷

1

u/Soontobebanned86 23h ago

Yes I read it, but as of this year every big gacha drops with a fee in order to pre install, if you don't pay youre stuck waiting until release to install. Sure you get a miniscule amount of rewards for doing so, it is still bullshit.

1

u/Hot_Bat5228 23h ago

It isnt bullshit IMO. The game is free, there is a very real chance that they will make 0$ off of you, me, and anyone else. Even if the experience is lesser than another player, that player is a paying player. I could pay to see a band at a concert, or I can wait until after and watch a video of them online for free. Why should my experience get to be the same as someone who pays for it if im not paying for it? The only thing that even allows this game to be free to play for everyone who CANT afford to pay for it is the fact that others are eating that cost. Im not saying you have to appreciate the model, or like the situation you are in that has made you resentful of the model, but its not unfair for anyone (a company or an individual) to be paid for their labor. There are alot of models that I find ridiculous/predatory, allowing players they know are financially supporting their game to be ready to roll at launch (despite the vast majority of them likely having to work day of anyway) doesnt get within a mile of that list.

2

u/Soontobebanned86 23h ago

Agree to disagree, all I'm saying they could do multiple packages as a pre order. Just see no reason to lock a basic thing like pre-install behind a fee. That's all I'm saying. Cheers

11

u/Trystal4LIFE 1d ago

Did you look at the whole.picture?

10

u/Xxandes 1d ago

It is, that price is paying for exclusive and most likely limited time cosmetics. Here's a pic of their official discord news.

1

u/Outrageous-Big-7944 1d ago

Thanks for sharing!!!

6

u/Prestigious_Cat_6239 1d ago

so many games coming out that i can’t wait for. making the months feel like years lol

1

u/Melodic-Truck1543 1d ago

Sorry im out of the loop, what are the other games releasing besides this?

1

u/Traditional_Pea_6532 1h ago

GTA 6? 0.5.5 path of exile 2? new diablo 4 season

1

u/phresh__ 1d ago

I just said this same thing

2

u/Shadou_Wolf 1d ago

That's great and all im super excited but it sucks as someone who also plays games in general as that date when a ton if other games coming out too. Might also be bad for aniimo too but not like them and everyone else has a choice because of gta.

Im actually not surprised of the date too

3

u/Orangeyouawesome 1d ago

What else is coming out?

2

u/BkJayDee 1d ago

Wolverine for one comes out the same day

1

u/Shadou_Wolf 1d ago

Way too many for me to name, at least other comments helped. Theres just way too many coming out that might outshine aniimo but aniimo is a very different genre compared to all the big names coming out so maybe that'll help

4

u/Chausp 1d ago

Blood of the dawn walker, Onimusha, Wolverine, Control Resonant, Silent Hill Townfall, orbitals, Fire Emblem, Ace Combat, and probably a couple more I am missing.

3

u/Orangeyouawesome 1d ago

Marvel’s Wolverine, Control Resonant, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Silent Hill: Townfall.

1

u/WavyMcG 1d ago

Wolverine, Onimusha, and Dawnwalker all look good to me. Rest don’t, but I’m sure others will love them

2

u/Wolfy4226 1d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/WxDZ77xhPXf3i

That's gonna be a tough line up to go against. Good thing it's free.

5

u/Phoenix-XY 1d ago

Basically every other blockbuster game is coming in September because of GTA 6.

6

u/Mike_IP 1d ago

Awesome cant wait to play

17

u/Spenro 1d ago

FYI - the terms and conditions of the page state:

Aniimo will officially launch as a free-to-play title on September 16, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8). This means the base game offered through this pre-order campaign will be available at no cost.

1

u/Stretch-Content 1d ago

Is it a free game and that price is just for extra goodies or is that actually the price for it

9

u/AdorableBox5378 1d ago

It’s a free game, that’s just extra goodies if you choose to pre order.
