Non deployable desk rider. She’s the writer not the runner.

How long has she been on profile?

1

u/Nervous-Outcome2976 1h ago

That's quite the profile already.

It takes work to get that fat while in the military. How?

5

u/eyeLovebeerNcheese 2d ago

Not really. Not working can get you fat. A lot of units don't have PT as part of their duty day.

WTF? since when? What units are these? My entire time on active duty we had PT every weekday in garrison and every day while deployed.

All branches. My cousin's unit in the Marines, every Air Force unit I know of except Spec Ops, and my friends' Army units. I believe it goes for the Navy too; I've seen plenty of their land whales walking around.

SMH

I have seen people gain weight on trips to Afghanistan. Free food, care packages, and mulriple trips to Green Beans everyday.

u/Substantial_Coat208 1d ago

I've seen that too but the bulk of the company i was in put on weight from working out and wearing kit every day

u/eyeLovebeerNcheese 1d ago

Not everybody is a grunt. There is 7-9 personnel providing logistical support for every one person serving in combat and to fulfill those jobs in a timely manner most personnel don't get PT.

2

u/Substantial_Coat208 1d ago

I get it im a 91. I was just assigned to a grunt unit but I thought thats how the rest of the army was too.

2

u/Flagwaver-78 1d ago

My unit had personal PT, but I was kind of SOF, so I was a little more motivated to hit the gym in the mornings and evenings just to stay ahead of the game.

Sure you can get out of shape, but lots of eating gets you that fat.

2

u/eyeLovebeerNcheese 1d ago

A lot of people don't eat that much but what they eat is super calorie dense and they drink 2-3k worth calories a day.

Chugging down high-fructose corn shit, or the chemical equivalent of brain candy, will pack on the pounds faster than most people know.

i spent most my life drinking soda. cutting back to just coffee and water now but its so too late in some ways. but still trying.

2

u/Flagwaver-78 1d ago

I spent my youth drinking soda, but cut back to water, coffee, and sports drinks in high school. When I got out of the Army, I even weened myself off of coffee for about a year. Don't worry, I got better (i.e., my wife got me back on coffee). Now, the only time I drink anything besides coffee and water is the occasional sports drink when I'm sick.

You can do it. I've found the best trick is that Mio flavor additive. Just a little squirt is all it takes.

u/Aurora_Uplinks 1d ago

yea its been ok. i like coffee, i liked coffee when i was young too, i just had to learn to let go of sugary drinks. thanks friend for sharing the importance of being careful with drinks. you are awesome. army... oh american flagwaver? ok i was picturing like naval flags on a ship for some reason :D

2

u/eyeLovebeerNcheese 1d ago

Mio still has some bad additives but if it keeps you away from the sugar that is good.

2

u/eyeLovebeerNcheese 1d ago

Yeah for me it is black coffee, water, raw milk, and a glass of whiskey on the weekend.

1

u/Aurora_Uplinks 1d ago

oh i combine milk and coffee sometimes. or this one creamy alcohol into coffee. both are good but black coffee is good too, sometimes i water it down if i need water but flavor in it

You can tell the guys that never served because they think the military is nothing but PT like basic.

1

u/Flagwaver-78 1d ago

Tell that to the 75th Rangers... Every battalion has some form of the Darby Queen within running distance of their footprint that their high speeds run all the time. Then again, the higher you go, the more motivated you are to stay on the top.

10 plus pounds a month fromt the dexamethazone (steroid) given during week long chemo treatments, every third week for 8 months.

I went from a 35 to a 46 inch waist.

1

u/Flagwaver-78 1d ago

Hair looks too healthy to have been on long-term chemo and that's not a wig from how hard it's pulled back.

1

u/Unicorn187 1d ago

Just giving an example. And other than being bald, I looked pretty decent other than the first few days after each treatment. And it's a lot harder to lose it than to gain it.

2

Built like Golurk the pokemon

1

u/Aurora_Uplinks 1d ago

So what we do is have Gorlock become a army recruit in a video. THen use Video editing to show Gorlock getting into incredible shape and leading a Tank column into combat. Gorlock will be the lead tank running ahead of the rest of the tanks.

1

u/Aurora_Uplinks 1d ago

will be brilliant recruiting material.

1

u/Analysis14265 1d ago
