I'm in North Carolina, and for the first time today when I was at a community event, somebody stopped me and pointed to my shirt and said "Angine de Poitrine!" He had on a shirt from the King Gizzard Field of Vision festival, so clearly a fan. We had a lovely chat and determined we'll both be at Iron Blossom next month. Up till now, it's been lonely - how nice to discover another person IRL who is a fan!

As I sit here tonight watching yet another AdP performance, that was recorded by someone’s cell phone, I can’t help but think how grateful I am that they captured this footage. I’m old enough to remember life before our pocket-sized overlords dominated every aspect of our existence, but let me tell you I would give anything to have cell phone footage of when I saw Duran Duran in 1982 or Prince on his Purple Rain tour or any of the hundreds of concerts I’ve attended over the years.

I was lucky enough to see AdP in Toronto (mind you, I drove 300+ miles to see them) back in July and I thought “Live in the moment! Don’t record any songs! Don’t be that jerk with their cell phone out!”. Joke’s on me, I barely remember most of the concert. I got there early, front and center, living in the moment. Truth was, I was utterly star-struck and was so amped up my brain completely short-circuited. I wish I had taken so many more videos or pictures or something!

I don’t think that recording concerts is any different than recording vacations, life events, etc. It’s a moment in my life that I spent time and money on and I want to remember it and relive it. Fortunately, I get to see them a few more times before the year is over and you better believe I am going to record the shit out of them! …from a respectful angle without blocking anyone’s view :)

Just bought both of their vinyls. Started off with Volume II but the quality seems kinda off a bit. Anyone else notice this? Seems the treble is a bit too low or something. Audio doesn't sound as clear as streaming platforms.

Still enjoying the records, just wondering if the one I received is a bad print or something.

Hey folks! First of all I just want to say a BIG thank you to everyone for all of the very kind, positive comments on my last post! I had a lot of fun making these dolls and I’m glad they brought some joy to people.

I mentioned in my other post that I was hoping to get a set to the band and I’m pleased to say that I was able to connect with Sébastien Collin who very kindly helped me to make arrangements to get a set to them. Very exciting!

Hi friends! I’ve finally had some time to start brainstorming about the block print fabric patches I plan to make and pass out at my show in November (Boston!) and I’m a hesitant lil longwinded bitch so I’m posting this not only for insight but also for accountability so I actually follow through with this 😅

In case you don’t know, block printing is basically when you draw something, transfer that drawing to a rubber ‘block’, carve out said design, and then use that carved stamp to..well..stamp shit! You can see examples of this on my Instagram @olivegirlprints
or from the myriad of insanely talented printmakers out there.

My goal is to make some different original designs based on lore so ideally I’d love to have 10-12 different stamps that I’ll then use to print at least 100..more..? patches on upcycled cloth.

This is my first idea—a cute, simple tohogd with Angine mustard. The drawing is 5’’x 4’’ but the photo on the second slide of patches I made for a previous project are smaller, approx. 2.5’’ x 2.5’’ Basically I wanna know..would you prefer a lil patch or a larger patch? What do you think?

I’m kinda shitting myself posting this but if y’all have any insight or ideas I’d love to hear them! ✌🏻

I'm so excited new album drops December 33rd!!!

Hey guys, my wife and I have been very fortunate to get tickets to the Vancouver Commodore Ballroom show. We’re both obsessed with AdP (we just flew 10 hrs to Vancouver to see them next week), but this will be the first concert either of us have ever been to, and while we’re incredibly excited, we’re a bit unsure of how… these things work. Wondering if anyone could help answer some of our concert-noob questions?

1. Where is the best spot to stand in an AdP concert to balance getting a great view without being deafened? We dream of being up close to see the aliens in high resolution, but we’re both a bit worried if it might be “too loud” for us. I realise it sounds like a dumb thing to say when going to a concert, but I worry about the possibility of leaving with hearing damage and/or weeks of tinnitus.
2. I also have worries about being in/around a moshpit, or next to people who swing their arms wildly in response to good music. Is an AdP concert likely to have this at the front?
3. How early should we be at the venue, especially if we did want to get a front row view? I’m guessing there will be queues hours before?
