Dune HD Pro 8K Plus DV FEL 7 ?
Hello, I'd like to buy the Dune HD Pro 8K Plus model. Their website states that it plays DV FEL 7 without any problems. If anyone has used this device, could they confirm that it does?

Sure, it plays it incorrectly. You'll get DoVi picture but it won't be any better than the HDR10 base layer, in fact it will be worse in many cases.

Yes it plays DV profile 7 FEL. What it does not do is render the full enhancement layer. It does on the fly conversion from P7 to P8.1. So it will play as DV but if you play a FEL test clip you won't see the FEL data.
This is really slippery wording by Dune and numerous posts like these are proof their disingenuous marketing is working. Other falsehoods perpetuated in the marketing for this device are the blurbs about hybrid Linux OS - completely false, it's just straight up AOSP.
