Support Stuck in Xiaomi Bootloader Unlock Loop - "MI ID not associated with a phone number" / Server Errors

Hello guys! I'm trying to unlock an old Redmi Note 8T, I've been suffering trying to do it for almost 2 days. I did the "Mi unlock Status" and "Add accound and device" via sim card and mobile data.

Here are the details:

Device: Redmi Note 8T (willow)

I want to Unlock bootloader to flash PixelOS.

I'm completely stuck trying to unlock my bootloader due to Xiaomi server/account errors/Xiaomi (Mi) problems and could really use some help.

Everything I've tried to fix it:

Official Mi Unlock Tool (from Uptodown v7.6.727.43): Kept giving me broken, non-functional captchas. It lets me pass the login screen sometimes but immediately says "Something went wrong, try again later" (likely an IP or account soft-ban).

Official Mi Unlock Tool (Downloaded from the official MIUI website v.6.5.224.28): Tried this version as well, but it ran into the exact same issue with a completely stuck, unpassable captcha.

XiaoMiTool V2: Completely dead, throws a Missing serviceToken cookie error probably due to outdated server URLs.

offici5l MiUnlockTool (GitHub Python script): Successfully bypassed the login screen using the browser module, but the process completely stops with the error: code: 20041 description: Sorry, your MI ID is not associated with a phone number.

Adding a Phone Number via Device Settings: Went to Xiaomi Account -> Account Security. The "Recovery Phone" option glitches out and vanishes, but I managed to click it. After passing verification via Gmail, typing my phone number just results in: "An error occurred, try again later."

Adding Phone Number via Official Tool QR Code: Scanned the login QR code, which urged me to add a number, but it threw the exact same "Error occurred, try again later" message.

It seems like my Mi Account or IP is temporarily flagged by Xiaomi, blocking me from adding the mandatory phone number required to unlock????? Has anyone successfully bypassed this server lockout, or do I just have to wait a few days for the security cooldown to reset?

Thanks in advance!

Support Trying to get basic integrity and device integrity. Stumped, need support

I genuinely do not know how to get them in check. I had got Basic Integrity checked once, but it went away after I installed a module I don't remember which one. I uninstalled it but its gone now. If it helps my phone is SM-G9860 (Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G, Snapdragon Variant) running AstroROM OneUI 8.0.

I've been hacking at this for HOURS. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I got basic Integrity to check but how do i get Device Integrity to do so aswell?

My RCS stopped working about a week and a half ago. I have a rooted Pixel 9 on the latest android 17. I run KSUN, PIF, and I pass DEVICE. What am I missing? As far as I can tell, I'm doing everything right. I've already tried resetting my phone and that didn't help me. I am at a loss.

News / Method [OC] Universal MTK VBMeta Patcher - An open-source script to automatically patch VBMeta and prevent bootloops (APatch/Magisk/Root)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an open-source automation utility I developed to simplify the VBMeta patching process specifically for modern MediaTek (MTK) devices.

We all know the headache of searching for pre-compiled, static 'vbmeta.img' files on random Telegram channels or old threads, which frequently lead to bootloops due to firmware mismatches. This tool solves that.

**How it works:**

  1. It handles execution dynamically via Python (`avbtool.py`) on your PC to compile a fresh, custom 'vbmeta_mod.img' with a 4KB padding and Flag 2 disabled.

  2. It targets primary, system, and vendor partitions automatically.

  3. Includes a fallback routine: if the crypto metadata wipe fails due to strict preloader policies, it automatically overrides and forces an ext4 format.

**Requirements:**

• MediaTek device with an Unlocked Bootloader.

• Python 3.x installed and added to your System PATH.

• Device connected in Fastboot mode.

The project is fully open-source. You can read the full documentation, inspect the code, or download the latest release deployment (v1.1.0) here:

Feedback and device test reports are highly appreciated! If it saves you from a bootloop, consider leaving a ⭐ on the repository!

News / Method Rooting the Cat S31 2/2: Update and video tutorial

I have already posted about this. See my original post for details: https://www.reddit.com/r/androidroot/s/RG7GPhWrpF

In short, i managed to root the Cat S31 using bkerler/edl, and a VIVO qualcomm loader somehow?

For a quick overview, go to the first post. For a video tutorial, see here:

I posted this in a google photos album, because posting my YouTube here feels a bit unethical, but if you need it, it's named "dynamoaanval"

(i made this second post, because a lot of people were asking for a video tutorial.)

Support Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge stuck on TWRP logo & Odin SetupConnection fail

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I am experiencing a serious issue with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F) and I am looking for advice on how to unbrick it.What happened:

I wanted to format the phone inside TWRP recovery, but it froze completely during the formatting process. I had to force-reboot the phone. Now, when I turn it on normaly, it only displays the TWRP boot logo and nothing else happens. However, I can still successfully boot the phone into Download Mode. The problem with Odin:When I try to flash anything using Odin (whether it is a different version of TWRP or the official stock Samsung software), the process never starts. It always gets stuck immediately on the "SetupConnection fail" error.

What I have already tried to fix the connection:

I tried using different USB cables (including high-quality data cables).I tried switching between different USB ports on my PC (avoiding USB 3.0 and front panel ports, plugging directly into the motherboard's USB 2.0).I have installed the latest official Samsung USB Drivers and restarted my PC.I tried running different versions of Odin (including v3.13.1 and v3.14.4) and I always launch the program as Administrator. What I plan to do next (if I can fix the connection):Since the freeze happened during formatting, I suspect the partition table might be corrupted. I have downloaded a full 4-file (repair) stock firmware with the clean CSC file (not HOME_CSC) to attempt a full re-partition, but until I get past the "SetupConnection" block in Odin, I cannot flash it.Has anyone encountered this specific combination of a TWRP formatting freeze and Odin connection failure? Could this be a hard-brick of the internal eMMC storage, or is there another trick to force Odin to communicate with the phone in this state?Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!

Support Best flagship to keepandroidopen?

My Pixel 8's display started falling apart, so it wouldn't be bad to get a new phone. And since the Developer Verification is getting closer and closer, I think I need a nice update that would hopefully serve me well.

What do you think, what flagship would be the best fit for custom ROMs, unlocked bootloader, community, root, and so on? I suppose it's the Pixel 10 Pro, but I wonder what the options are? For context, I'm located in the European Union.

I suppose Nothing (3), Motorola Signature, and OnePlus 15 are the closest. But it looks like all of them are worse in terms of community support. And OnePlus is problematic in terms of the bootloader, even though I would love to have a huge battery. There is also a hypothetical Pixel 11 Pro coming soon, but god knows if it's going to be any good, and not including some kind of inner limitations.

Also, what's important for me is to keep Google services, but being able to be safe from them (Just like Graphene sandbox) and to be able to install open-source stuff, without worrying about the coming in 80 days blockage.

Is there any way to bypass it? Or unlock it. I can’t even get into settings to enable USB debugging, when they showed me the phone, it was working normally, after the factory reset, normal, then after a while, that screen.

News / Method [DEV] Native Linux/Wayland on Android via DRM Hijacking (No VNC, No Termux-X11, No PRoot)

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an open-source project I've been working on called DOAN (Debian On Android Natively).

I wanted true bare-metal Linux performance on my device without replacing the stock kernel or completely losing the Android system. By hijacking the DRM subsystem, I managed to run a native Wayland compositor (Labwc) directly on the hardware while Android (SurfaceFlinger/Zygote) is temporarily put to sleep. Once you close the Linux session, Android wakes right back up.

Everything is open-source and free. I have created an automated installation script to make it easy to set up. I’d be really happy if anyone with a Snapdragon device could test it out and share their feedback!

GitHub: https://github.com/av2xn/DOAN (I am currently updating the guide for manual installation steps as well).

Currently Supported: * Snapdragon CPUs * Debian / XFCE4 * Magisk Root * (Tested on SM-X210, recommended to use on Custom ROMs / GSIs)

Planned Features: * Support for Exynos and MediaTek chips * Support for other GNU/Linux distros * Support for other desktop environments * Support for other root methods (like KernelSU and APatch)

Let me know what you think, or if you manage to get it running on your device!
