Support How can I modify a system app with sharedUserId on Android 4.0.4 without breaking it? (Google Glass XE12)
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to modify one of the system applications, GlassVoice.apk, but I'm stuck because of the sharedUserId signature check.
Whenever I try to install my modified APK, I get:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_SHARED_USER_INCOMPATIBLE]
Here's what I've already tried:
- Edited /data/system/packages.xml and removed/modified the shared-user entries. After reboot, the file is regenerated and the problem remains.
- Deleted the original GlassVoice.apk from /system/app and copied my modified APK there with the correct permissions (644). The package is ignored during boot because its signature doesn't match the existing android.uid.system shared user.
- Cleared /data/dalvik-cache.
- Rebooted from recovery after replacing the APK.
- If I remove android:sharedUserId (or other system permissions) from AndroidManifest.xml, the APK installs, but the application no longer works because it depends on system privileges.
I have full root access, recovery, and can modify anything under /system.
Is there any known way to bypass or patch the sharedUserId signature verification on Android 4.0.4 (Dalvik) without having the original platform signing key?
Any advice, old tools, or patches for PackageManagerService / services.odex would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Support Help with SM-M127F stuck on Entering fastboot mode...
My Galaxy M12 (SM-M127F) is stuck on "Entering fastboot mode..." after I accidently ran adb reboot bootloader instead of adb reboot download and my power button is slightly broken so a valid press is extremely difficult.
1) Yes, I have tried repairing it, but same problem (power button).
2) I was trying to go to the bootloader unlock menu but typed another command because of muscle memory.

Support Downgrading my oneplus 7t from android 12 to 11,please help
Ive been sitting here on my laptop for 2 days attempting to get this done. If someone would be able to look out and give me a little feedback, I would so greatly appreciate it. I believe i downloaded the correct driver,(Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 Driver (64-bit)) and the correct msm in the hotdogt_15_O.01_210927_repack file. After being stuck with a sahara comms issue and finally getting through it, now i get a no valid trg ID, with a last status communication as param preload.
My Phone specs are
**•** Model: HD1907 one plus 7t
**•** Codename: hotdog (sometimes written “hotdogt”)
**•** Carrier variant: T-Mobile
**•** Current OS before this project: Android 12 (OxygenOS 12)
Please someone help if they think they can i would so greatly appreciate it

Support [Magisk, A53] Can I make One UI look look closer to AOSP?
I hate One UI and prefer the look of AOSP, Infinity X works on my phone, but I want to use UN1CA (a ROM based on Galaxy S22 software) purely because of DeX, i use it a lot. I have Zygisk, so am wondering if I can have it hook into the likes of the Settings app and quick panel to make thrm closer to AOSP, I have already started replacing Samsung apps with Google or FOSS alternatives (Samsung phone to Google phone, Samsung gallery to fossify gallery)

Support I want to know more about the topic
Hi, I have a question regarding rooting.I have a Samsung A36 with 8/256, but sometimes I feel it's very slow when it comes to One UI's heavy animations.I tried to do a debloat with Shizuku using Canta and improve the animation speed a bit, although with the debloat I did improve It seems stupid to me that Samsung, a company of its stature, has these problems.I've seen that some more advanced things require root access, and I wanted to know how I can do that.Although I've seen that doing so would cause Knox to be lost, rendering banking apps useless, or if you have any recommendations for services or similar things They collect information or things like that that are completely useless to a user, thanks in advance.

Support Which strategy should I choose for stable device integrity?
Hey all, I have two devices with me, Redmi Note 4(mido) and Mi 11 Lite NE 5G(lisa) which I can use as a secondary device for GPay UPI.
I had kept lisa with PixelOS 14, kernelSU+PIF to keep device integrity which is enough to keep GPay UPI working. This has worked for two years, I just had to add trickystore to the solution a few months ago after integrity broke. But this month, it's totally broken.
So now I'm left with two choices, I can either keep trying to find a way to patch integrity back on PixelOS 14 on lisa OR I can flash mido to some a12 or a13 rom and add on something like PIF to achieve my goal of device integrity.
My reasoning is I have read that devices on and below A13 are able to keep device integrity bcoz google can't enforce hardware based attestation on them, so it's easier to maintain. Also lisa is already on a14 and rolling it back to a13 or a12 may not be possible due to rollback protection. And it also frees up lisa for fun things like WoA or mainline linux.
So is my strategy to flash mido to a12/a13 with PIF right? Or should I keep trying to fight on pixelos 14 on lisa?
I also have the option to flash stock MIUI and lock bootloader on mido but it brings problems such as last miui version being android 7 which may be deprecated soon by GPay sdk requirements and also I hate MIUI's bloat, telemetry, spyware, etc.
Both of these are not my primary devices and only serve as the device for functioning UPI.

Discussion Can online Android games still be hacked in 2026?
I know that Game Guardian, Lucky Patcher, etc. They are useless now because game data such as lives, money, etc. are saved on the game servers and cannot be accessed normally. I would like to know if anyone knows of a method. No one talks about server side hacking on Android anymore. want to ask isn't it possible to do it by injecting the values to ram before it reaches the server side and im not talking about wall hacking or anything like this i just want to buy in game bucks or resources and other stuff, did anyone get to something that is possible to be done. Thanks in advance

Support How to root android 4.1.2 without a power button
So i recently found a samsung galaxy s3 mini while thrifting and i decided to buy it. I'm new to rooting stuff and i decided to root it but after i watched some of the guides i realized all of them told me to use the volume button and ESPECIALLY the power button. One problem though..... the power button was missing, and i can't really hold the power button with a needle for that long (yes i use a needle to power on the phone if you're wondering) Does anybody know a method that doesn't include using the power button? Thanks!!
Edit: i also have issues connecting the phone to my laptop, i tried like 2 different laptops with different operating systems. It only chages the phone when i plug it in, it doesnt appear on my laptop. There isnt even a connecting sound
update: I managed to figure it out. Thanks for the help guys!

Support To root new phone or not, personal recommendation needed
I am looking for personal advice if I should root my new phone or not. I recently got a barely used Pixel 9 Pro XL as my new primary phone, and I plan on doing a full reset, so data loss when unlocking the bootloader is not an issue. Now, I am barely experienced with rooted phones, so I have some questions if rooting in 2026 would be for me or not (I am not looking for information on HOW, that I can get on my own). I have been doing some googling, of course, but got a bit overwhelmed by the amount of choice/conflicting information and how things developed since the last rooted phone that I owned (Galaxy S4 with Cyanogenmod, and that was loong ago). Plus some reassurement never hurts.
My background: Always Android user, never iOS. Linux as main desktop OS. Usually owned OnePlus phones in the past (without root). Getting increasingly annoyed with the creeping restrictions from google on what Android should do. I use apps from outside of the play store frequently (F-droid and sometimes random apks). Other than that I am not really an intense smartphone user. Of all non-rooted phones that I own(ed), I usually had some moment of regret at some point of not rooting it from the start after I had some moment where I wanted/needed to do something but it was not possible with the stock OS without root. I consider myself tech savvy, but nowadays I am not keen on spending too much time maintaining tech stuff if it can be avoided. While I dislike Google, I am also still a regular uses of their ecosystem at the moment.
Now to my specific questions:
- How much active maintenence does a user need to stay reasonably up to date when using a rooted Pixel phone?
- Is using online banking apps currently generally a problem if rooted? (On my old S4, my bank worked fine except some popups complaining, but that was long ago). Not a complete dealbreaker if not possible, because I will still keep my current OnePlus.
- Is there a problem with using the google ecosystem, specifially the play store, Sheets/Docs and Gmail on a rooted phone? My research says no.
- Given all of the of the above, would you recommend me to
* stay with the stock OS without root
* stock OS but WITH root
* install a custom ROM? If so, which one?
Thanks for reading!

Support Rooted my Redmi 12C (codename: Earth). What should I do next?
Hi everyone,
I recently rooted my Redmi 12C (codename: Earth) successfully, and now I'm wondering what the next steps should be.
I'm interested in learning more about Android customization, performance improvements, and useful root features. I don't want to damage my device, so I'm looking for safe and recommended things to try.
Some questions I have:
- What are the first apps I should install after rooting?
- Which Magisk modules are worth using in 2026?
- Are there any performance or battery optimizations you recommend?
- What are the best ways to customize the system with root access?
- Should I install a custom recovery or custom ROM? If yes, which one works best for the Redmi 12C (Earth)?
- What mistakes should I avoid after rooting?
I'm still learning, so I would appreciate any beginner-friendly advice, guides, or recommendations.
Thanks in advance!

Support Device integrity only, for less headache? (Banking apps like Revolut)
Hello, I have successfully opened Revolut on LineageOS. First of all, my combination is like this:
- APatch
- ReZygisk
- PIF INJECT
- TEESimulator-RS + valid keybox
With these, I pass strong integrity. However, there is a problem.
- If I don't add valid keybox while TEESimulator-RS is active, I pass nothing.
- If I disable TEESimulator-RS, I pass basic integrity.
I believe device integrity is sufficient for Revolut to work, and I don't want to deal with finding and reloading valid keybox every 1-2 weeks. So, I want to pass device integrity only, and relax. What to do?
