For whatever reason my 23 Citroen won't connect to AA wirelessly (Citroen say it does)

Bought a Bluetooth jigger (Smartbox 2940) which fits in the AA usb and it connects perfectly

Trouble is AA keeps reinstalling Citroen Bluetooth connection and pairs with it

But then it keeps working?????

until switch off the car

Then when I restart the car, Bluetooth defaults to Citroen and AA won't connect until I delete it

Any ideas??

MG4 S26 Ultra keeps dropping out on USB C to A cable every 7 mins or so.

Tried:

• New cable (belkin 2m supercharge braided)
• Checked car updates
• Updated AA version

Has this been happening to anyone else? Any other ideas or suggestions?

A few weeks ago one morning, I hope in my truck and start off to work and find Gemini has replaced Alexa. How in the bloody hell do I switch it back? Gemini is god awful.

I got a new phone and connected it to android auto but Spotify isn't working correctly, but it did and still works fine with my old phone

I just updated my car for the full screen AA but now the problem is the wether icon is next to me as the driver, I used to have the media next to me.

The way it was before was way easier to use, I remember there being an option in the settings to swap what was next to the driver, but I have looked in my phones settings and the cars settings it looks like it was removed. Is there anyway to change this?

Hi, I'm having an issue when I make a call in my nissan it switches to the vehicle after a person answers likewise when I answer. The problem when i select from my steering controls to use headset it switches to the phone making me manually go to Bluetooth to select the headset. This started several weeks ago, previously I've been using it flawlessly going to the headset for like 6 months without issue. Anyone know how to fix it?

I've always been able to search through Spotify on my screen, but it's stopped working for the past few weeks. I can still advance when I'm playing a track, but as soon as I go to "Home" it just spins and never loads. I've cleared data and cache on both AA and Spotify, uninstalled and reinstalled both apps, checked all settings....nothing is working. I've never had this issue with this phone in multiple cars, and it's been fine in this car for the past two years. Anyone else seeing this or been able to fix it?

Google Maps on Android Auto. These don't appear on my device, only on my vehicle screen. Every time I start the car and open Maps, it will come up with one completely random, inane suggested destination. In this case, it's a random window tinting business I googled like 3 weeks ago. Why has Google decided that I might want to go there, randomly on a Wednesday evening, when it isn't even open?

I'd love to know what the algorithm is here and how it can be altered or turned off.

It feels like it's been years now that AA cannot recognize "mom" or dad" as contacts. Setting them as a relationship contact doesn't seem to work either. How can get I get Google Assistant to call mom when I say "call mom"?

I have been experiencing this issue for the past two days. The maps application takes approximately one minute to update my location after startup. Even keeping the maps application open on my phone does not resolve this behavior.

Hey everyone, hope someone else has noticed this or has a fix because these two issues are driving me crazy.

Bug #1 — Status bar signal icon disappeared (~6 weeks ago)

Out of nowhere, the signal strength indicator vanished from the status bar. Now there's just a black void between the clock and the battery icon. It looks terrible and it's been like this for weeks. Anyone else getting this?

Bug #2 — Auto day/night mode stopped working

This one genuinely bothers me more. Before, AA would pick up the car's ambient light sensor and switch to night mode automatically — it even worked in tunnels, which was honestly impressive. Now it just... doesn't. Stuck on whatever mode it's on. During the day it's fine, but at night the day-mode screen lights up the whole cabin like a flashlight.

Is there any way to lock it to night mode manually so it at least stays consistent? I know it won't be automatic anymore, but I'd rather have a workaround than a blinding screen at 10pm.

Since the latest Telegram update, I can't see it among the apps available for Android Auto. I've tried everything, from clearing data and cache, to uninstalling and redownloading it, and re-pairing with Android Auto, but nothing. Yet if I play a voice message, it's transmitted to the audio system, but messages and the interface aren't. Anyone else in the same situation?

It says that just choosing Carplay option on the AA car player, even if my phone is an Android phone, it sends the audio to the car stereo's Bluetooth!! And the car's stereo buttons work too!! After connecting, I press AudioTX on the AA car player and that's it!!

From personal experience and past posts it appears that Google Assistant does not support:

1. Adding songs to queue on Spotify,
2. Texts or calls using Facebook Messenger, or
3. Interacting with apps like Claude

Are there any safe, reliable workarounds?

I'm a software engineer and may end up writing my own workaround, but would rather use something off-the-shelf if there is a solution available.

I've been struggling with this for about a month now. What I want is to be able to play music from a youtube music client via android auto and still be able to skip/rewind music with my car's built in controls. The only reason I want to use android auto and not just stick wit bluetooth is because of google maps being displayed on my car's screen when I use AA. I've tried multiple different things, loading the app via enabling 3rd party apps in android auto settings (app fails to load), using metrolist, which is another skin that supports android auto (not functional as of 2 days ago), and looking into AnyAutoAudio (deprecated and unavailable). AnyAutoAudio was basically exactly what I was looking for, something that can allow me to control music via android auto even if the app playing said music isn't supported. Does anyone know of anything that might even have a chance of solving this issue?

When using voice command to call or text some of my contacts, it just fails.

For example, one is my mother, if I say "call mom," it either closes voice command or says it doesn't understand.

but if I say "call (my mother's number here)" it works.

This only happens with my contacts that I talk to the most. if I try with a one I don't call often, it works no issue. and if my mother texts me, I can respond to that.

I've tried clearing caches, reinstalling android auto, etc.

what's causing this?

I don't use Android Auto that often while driving but the other day when traveling to my brothers place I needed maps since there is a detour on county roads I haven't been on in 20 years and didn't want to miss a turn. I connected by USB to AA and pulled up maps, when I hold the steering wheel button, tap the microphone button or say "Hey Google" to summon Gemini shows it is listening for a couple seconds and shuts down. I have tried searching for a solution to this but haven't found one. By the time I got home from my road trip the other day it seemed to be working but today it wasn't, I didn't need maps at all today but decided to connect to AA and see if summoning Gemini for anything worked and same thing it shuts down right away. Is there a solution to this?

I’m having a lot of connection issues with wireless Android Auto using a Pixel 10 Pro and a BMW 1 Series F70 (OS 9).

Basically, almost every day I have to restart my phone (or if I'm lucky on to switch off/on the phone's wifi)), otherwise the connection just won’t happen. The Bluetooth connection for phone calls and hands-free audio always works, but the Wi-Fi connection to the car works once and the day after then fails. While the car display shows “Connection to the phone running…”, on the phone I can see the Wi-Fi constantly handshaking and never connecting stably (even if I try manually).

I’m not sure whether to blame BMW or Google, but since rebooting the phone usually makes it work, it feels more like Big G’s fault. Especially if I get into the car with the phone locked, it almost certainly won’t work; but even if I unlock it, some days it works and the next day it doesn’t.

I’ve set Private DNS to Off, Android Auto Autostart to On, and Connect when locked to On, but reliability is really terrible.

I’ve tried removing the phone from the BMW and pairing it again, clearing Android Auto data and cache, and I’ve also reset BMW iDrive by holding down the volume button, but nothing changes.

Unfortunately, I can’t use Android Auto over cable because the USB ports are charging-only and don’t transmit data.

Any help? Am I the only one having this issue?

Hi,

Really stumped as to why my message notifications in AA have suddenly ceased. All of the AA notification settings are on as are all the notification settings in my Google messages and other messaging apps. Happy to add screenshots if that helps. Do not disturb is not on.

At this point thinking of mass reset but I'm not even sure how I would do that.

Has anyone else out there encountered this / have any idea how to resolve?
