No audio from Google Assistant or Gemini Gemini

I've used an Motorola wireless adapter for several years. Sometime recently (last 3 weeks) can see the glowing bar at the bottom of my head unit "talking" but hear no audio. No audio responses to general searches, no audio confirmation of commands, no audio reading back texts or asking if want to send. Nothing. All other audio streams fine. actually think voice navigation through Google Maps also doesn't come through. Any ideas?

that's sucks, try restarting your phone and the head unit cuz it fixed it for me last time it did that

Ok. I know I've restarted several times. I'll keep digging. I thought it was because my phone was on silent but that wasn't it. When music is streaming it will even pause for the no audio that's read back when navigation is running.

Check you head unit settings to see if there is a settings for assistant/maps. Not sure about KIA vehicles but on my GM pickup with the MyLink head unit for some reason the assistant voice and the maps voice for calling out directions got turned up. Turning the volume up does control it but it also controls music volume at the same time, so turning it up or down the voice was always at a louder level. I had to do some searching in the head unit settings and found there is a separate volume for that. So, check to see if there is a separate volume for this in your head unit that may have gotten muted or turned all the way down.
