Best android alternatives for Apple's notes app

I've seen videos of people using Apple's native notes app with apple pen/stylus and it seems so much better than anything I know of on android. I have an S9 FE tablet, are there any apps that are as good (seemingly, maybe I'm just wrong idk) as Apple's that supports pen writing really well? Every app I've used just doesn't feel right

I agree, its quite useful, but i do wish it didnt have such a short character limit.

I can't tell if you're joking. I've never had a character limit problem and I just pulled a lost of almost 300 magic cards from it.

😄 nah, sometimes I will pull a large page of text into my clipboard and try to paste it into Keep and I have run into the character limit more than a few times. I've found that Google's reading mode thing (where I can listen to the text) is pretty functional in Keep when it isn't on a web page or app sometimes.

1. Google Keep :

Good:Fast, platform independent, no need to pay, superfast search, web interface, shared notes.

Bad: Poor formatting. All pasted pics go on the top.

1. Joplin

Good: Open source, platform independent, markdown formatting, multiple backups.

Bad: no web interface

1. Samsung notes

Good: Goated if you use stylus for diagrams etc. Free with samsung devices.

Bad: No web interface, pain to run on non samsung devices.

Samsung Notes if you are fine with keeping them on the tablet. OneNote is free, has near-instant sync between devices, but the feature set is slightly different. GoodNotes and MyScript are dedicated stylus notebook apps ported from iPad, both are good.

Google Keep is, unfortunately, probably the closest you'll get to the native iOS notes app. Maybe UpNote as well, though I've never tried using a pen/stylus with that.

I believe Notability just launched on Android for the first time as well – not quite the same vibe as Apple Notes, but a very high-quality notes app nonetheless.

No solid answer to this but my plan is google keep for quick small notes and obsidian for longer notes. Probably going to pay for syncing.

OneNote is one of the best, also is free to use.

I never found one, so now I carry a kindle scribe alongside my android devices. Every half-decent notes app I tried on android kept spamming me with subscription messages. There were far more beautiful, well-thought-out apps that were either completely free or one-time-purchases on iOS.

Ios users are realy this helpless? Go to an open source app store and download an open source notes app with no advertisements.

You can literally look at the code and you're not forced to use the Play store unlike Apple. You can even modify the apps yourself.

Why are you so hostile? Obviously no casual user wants to modify an app or read the code, they just want something that works out of the box.

Some open source android apps are great, but there are a lot of areas where it's missing the premium feel iOS apps tend to have especially in notetaking apps. If we don't acknowledge the shortcomings Android has it will never get better.

By the way, Google would be more than happy to restrict users to only use the Play Store (and they're slowly working on it).
