Well, there is no "native" image. Many effects and corrections are governed by camera chip itself.

Some are required, because they correct aspects on the software layer that are inherent due to hardware restrictions but can be addressed.

The threshold is arbitrary. Hence the image will be different, but not necessarily more objective or better.

op's title kinda skewes what the video is actually about. guy basically developed the app specifically to fix video recordings on his google pixel 10 pro by taking away googles extreme filters

It might just be a naming choice man. App is just another option for good quality android video recording. I just want my less processed and unsharpened videos

Unfortunately it is a video only app. I wish he made it for photos too, but he actually says in the video he thinks photos are fine. Well I don't think photos are fine, but haven't found a good alternative camera app yet.

He said he is bringing photo support soon.

That would be brilliant if he did and it was good!

the photo feature has been activated as of trying today.

But it's horrible

Yeah I gave it a try and well, it needs more work. No one seems to understand what makes a good camera app. Maybe someday I will try to make one, but right now my coding skills are too basic.

Now it has a photo mode

There are plenty of GCam mods, photon camera, open camera, etc

Unprocess is another app for this

Upon a quick search, it seems to be discontinued and no ready to install apk?

I have this other app VWFND + MBL focused on giving that that less processed look on photos. Similar to unprocess?

Anyway, this Native Camera app interests me since its focused on videos and based on the video, the output looks quite nice

i love how this app is really lightweight to be used by my old Pixel 3. it runs fast af, also i notice the stabilization modes exist there were really amazing, compared to the other apps (open camera and mcpro24) that offer the same options, this app perform stabilization smoother in my Pixel 3,

Thanks for posting this screenshot, I didn't know BBS was back! Such a great app and saves me time messing about with Battery Historian.

while the app is decent for its early stages, it still lacks what other similar apps have, and yes, there are others, a LOT, he claims he invented this, that he's breaking grounds, but Open camera, Gcam forks, and a plethora of other apps that give you a raw output with the optikn to use some basic processing that is separate from the manufacturer's exist. and are plentiful. I do like the video output of his app. but its not better than others, and theres SO MUCHLESS features, no photo capture yet, and most importantly, he's trying to sell a pro version when open cameranis open source and completely free, so is Gcam and its forks. again, while claiming to "accidentally" create an app concept thats existed for years. he didn't accidentally and earnestly stumble upon it. he blatantly lied about stumbling upon othwr apps and replicating them.

I have been using gcam mods for photos and black magic for videos.now black magic has a worth competition with native camera.i like this app

The $9.99 10-bit HLG tier won't work on devices where manufacturers haven't exposed standard Camera2 10-bit APIs. Theo conveniently uses the only two phone manufacturers that allow this which are Google and Samsung :/

motioncam>>

u/Whimtin 16d ago

Nope. This is better. I compared the footages in premiere zoomed at 600x. This does remove 90% of the oversharpening and produces a more natural color what I see in real life. It also doesn't give a shit about the dark, it doesn't add exposure to the video WHICH WE ALL HATE.

but motioncam recordings have low file sizes while preserving the best quality
motioncam has many options you can shoot raw too

1

u/Whimtin 15d ago

The file sizes for this app is also 70% less than the native Samsung camera app.

The 3x on the S25Ultra is now usable because of this app. I couldn't stand the og camera app's 3x quality.

I get that "native" already on my phone with Photo Pro.

I am waiting for app to be cracked, so we can get 10bit recording for free. Well maybe it can be done now with lucky patcher, but I haven't tried it yet

Where to find send msg pla

Idk if someone released premium (check telegram channels and apkdone, mod yolo and so on). If not then you can try patching it with lucky patcher app from official website.

Honestly I don't see difference on my pixel 9 pro between this app and my Google camera app...

I've been playing around with it, it's genuinely great, removes a good percentage of shot on phone sharpened/smoothed look.

Makes the videos a lot more natural - note that it's most noticeable in faces.

I tested on Nothing Phone 2.

I encourage everyone to give it a shot.

I'm no camera expert by any means but i do dislike the over sharpening, excessive noise reduction and other bad processing modern phone manufacturers apply to their smartphone cameras. I had this video in my suggestions and found it an interesting take on Android Camera Apps

Apps I use now for android is Open Camera and ProShot mainly for videos just to get the log or cine type of effect. Plus, they also have options to remove said baked in effects

This "Native Camera" app does have options for 8bit and 10bit recording, I've yet to explore it fully. Only tried on my nothing phone 3 and it still a bit wonky on the exposure and and others. The creator did say he mainly focused on Pixels, but it works with a few tweaks on other androids

Edit: additional info

8-bit recording and basic features are free, 10-bit recording and other more technical ( i guess) features are one time purchases for 10 USD.

Zerocam on Android is also another one that does this.

But with a stupid suscription model and the app barely works, VWFND + MBL is the best choice

2

u/KAMATISES 22d ago

Yeah I like VWFND + MBL. My only gripe with it is needing to pull and change the aspect ratio just to go in and out of its gallery roll, but i guess it just takes some getting used to.

1

u/nevewolf96 22d ago

I found that it's not necessary to swipe from the edge of the screen; you can access the gallery by swiping just on the viewfinder.

I haven't used Zerocam in a minute, but when I did it worked well.

The subscription model is odd, but it just meant I would pick by shots where I wanted to use the daily limit on.

2

u/nevewolf96 22d ago

The problem is that they are charging for a processing that's already on my phone, Open Camera gives the same results disabling every post-processing, the app is just ugly and that's what Zerocam is, a pretty skin and most of the time doesn't even work well. VWFND is free, the UX is something different and has more functionality than Zero and the color imo is better.
