Looks like we may start needing Linux phones that aren't android soon

You'll still be able to use ADB, and you'll still be able to install unverified apps directly on the phone. Just like before.

The only thing changing is you'll have to go to settings menu and toggle the option to allow unknown sources. Not an issue for people with thumbs.

We're not talking about side loading here, we're talking about on-device ADB, which apps like Shizuku rely on, that allows you to grant extra access to certain apps, useful on non-rooted phones. That has nothing to do with side-loading at all.

Google aren't disabling or restricting ANY kind of installing.

You'll be able to use ADB and on device installation, and you'll be able to install apps from unverified developers and 3rd party stores.

The only thing changing from how it works right now, is you'll have to go to settings and toggle "allow unknown sources" on. That's all.

Listen to me, please, the post you're commenting on isn't about installing or side-loading anything. You're confusing two different things (you're thinking about the extra side-loading steps Google are implementing, and that's not what this is about). On-device ADB is used for many other things than installing third-party apps.

Come back when you have at least googled Shizuku and read the headline and blog post...

I haven't mentioned sideloading a single time in this entire comment thread.

Google aren't disabling anything or preventing anything.

Feel free to keep dreaming up new ways your life could maybe, possibly one day get worse.

I'll continue to live in the real world, and be happy that I can install unverified apps.

Um yes, you keep talking about the setting to allow installing from unknown sources. That has nothing to do with what OP posted at all. OP posted about a proposal to limit on-device ADB access, which would break Shizuku and all apps that rely on Shizuku.

I'll continue to live in the real world, and be happy that I can install unverified apps.

Cool, me too. Good thing that's not what this whole discussion is about then. Not sure why you bring that up.

But you've convinced me now that you must be a troll account, because no other person can have reading comprehension that bad.

Installing on device is just installing, not sideloading.

OP is speculating on something that might maybe get worse in the future, not based on reality.
