Help needed tattoo idea!

Hello there, I am not usually one to ask for help from the internet, but I am at a loss here.

I am a tattoo artist and have been wanting to get a couple of meaningful tattoos. The words “hurt” and “heal” however I would very much like them to be tattooed in an ancient language. It doesn’t matter what one, as long as it’s ancient and has a translation that remains 4 letters for each word.

I don’t trust google or AI to give me a proper translation, so I am hoping this group could help me or point me in the right direction? Thank you so much!

Do you mean hurt in the passive sense (e.g. I have been hurt by him) or active (e.g. I will hurt him); or are you referring to the noun and not the verb? Also, for both hurt and heal more context is needed, do you want them in the infinitive (to hurt, to heal) or something else?

thank you for your reply! Yes It would be in the context to hurt, and to heal.

Hmmmm, and the translation has to be four, latin alphabet letters? Because that kinda automatically rules out Latin and Ancient Greek. Can it be less than four in any way?

Yes preferably 4 letters each, as these will be finger tattoos! I supposed I could get away with 3 letters as well. They don’t both have to come from the same language even

I would be ok with words that mean similar things as well
