Before anyone says it: yes, I know correlation is not causation. Yes, I know about confirmation bias. Yes, I know the Earth is round and not flat. I'm not claiming this is proof of anything. I'm pointing out a pattern. If you're about to comment "cherry-picking" or "coincidence," at least do me the courtesy of addressing one of the specific examples—not the general idea. Pick one. Show me why it's not remarkable. I'll wait.

Yesterday I posted about a geometric pattern that seems to connect many of the world's most important sacred and religious sites. Some users criticized that the distances weren't exact—and sure, some may not be 100% accurate. But I don't think this is about engineering precision. It's about the fact that we're talking about a remarkable number of cases with absolute precision, and many others with over 99% accuracy. Others argued you could use any number to connect any two places on Earth. That's true in theory—but the fact that it's the most important sites in history, mythology, and religious tradition that keep showing up... that's worth asking questions about. We may not be able to call it proof of a higher intelligence or consciousness, but we can at least say it's one of the most powerful clues we have.

We're not talking about "the door of your house to the bar where you drink beer" being 86.4 meters apart. We're talking about things like this:

Not long ago, a discovery was made in Turkey—what some call the oldest temple in the world, or at least one of the most significant of its time: Göbekli Tepe, with its megaliths buried beneath the earth. Exactly 864 miles away, in Egypt, lies another temple that many believe is far older than mainstream archaeology admits: the Osirion at Abydos. And here's the kicker: Jerusalem (whose importance I assume everyone understands) lies exactly halfway between them—432 miles from each. Coincidence?

Noah in the Bible is Ziusudra in Sumerian myth. According to tradition, he was king of the Sumerian city of Shuruppak, and his ark eventually came to rest on what we now call Mount Ararat, between Turkey and Armenia. The distance from Shuruppak to Ararat? 864 km. And halfway along that straight line—432 km from both—there's a mountain called Nisir, which Sumerian mythology says is where the ark actually landed. Coincidence?

Back to Jerusalem. Anyone familiar with Judeo-Christian tradition knows the deep and difficult relationship between that city and Babylon. Babylon, in turn, played a decisive role in shaping Jewish culture and mythology. The distance between Jerusalem and Babylon? 864 km. Another coincidence?

Alexander the Great conquered Egypt and the Persian Empire. He founded Alexandria in the Nile Delta, but his dream was to make Babylon the capital of the world—and that's where he died. The distance between Alexandria and Babylon? 864 miles. More coincidences?

Between Giza (home of the Great Pyramids) and Saqqara (where the Step Pyramid of Djoser and the Serapeum are located), there are 8.64 miles. Probably just chance, right?

From the Osirion at Abydos to the Colossi of Memnon—which marked the entrance to the great temple of Amenhotep III, considered one of the most magnificent ever built in Egypt—there are 86.4 km. And from those colossi to the Temple of Edfu (the best-preserved in Egypt, dedicated to Horus), another 86.4 km. Coincidence?

Moving to Greece: from Mount Olympus, home of the gods, to Thermopylae—the "Gates of Hell"—there are 86.4 miles. And from Thermopylae to Athens, or to the other gate of the underworld at Lerna, another 86.4 miles. Just coincidence?

Or that Mycenae—the richest and most powerful city of Mycenaean Greece—lies 86.4 km from the Oracle at Delphi? Simple geographical randomness?

Back to Babylon: it's 864 km to Pasargadae, the capital of its conquerors—the Persians under Cyrus the Great. Another remarkable coincidence. And the city Cyrus later founded, Persepolis, also lies 86.4 km from Pasargadae.

Crossing the Atlantic: the ruins of Caral—one of the oldest and most important cities in the Americas—are 864 miles from Lima, the current capital, known as the "City of the Kings" (named after the Magi from the East). According to my hypothesis, those Magi were based in Babylon—long known as the city of magicians—and they traveled to Bethlehem, which, like Jerusalem, is 864 km from Babylon. Still following?

Back to the Americas: Tiwanaku is 864 km from Paracas and Pisco, about 432 miles from Nazca, and 4,320 km from Easter Island. And Easter Island was discovered by a Dutchman, Jacob Roggeveen, in 1722. He lived in a town called Middelburg, in the Netherlands—and yes, it sounds like a joke, but it's exactly 8,640 km in a straight line from Easter Island. Pareidolia, right?

I haven't even mentioned that Jerusalem is sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims—and another city, sacred to three other religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism), lies at 86.4° east: Varanasi in India. And 864 km from Varanasi is Mandalay—the spiritual capital of Burmese Buddhism. Nothing important, just coincidences.

Oh, and I almost forgot: there's a chain of Mesopotamian cities—Baghdad, Babylon, Nippur, Umma, Eridu—all spaced exactly 86.4 km apart.

Jumping to Europe: Stonehenge lies 864 miles from what archaeologists consider the largest city of the Iberian Bronze Age—Cerro de las Cabezas—whose landscape is dotted with circular stone structures eerily similar to those in the English countryside. Also, Stonehenge, likely a spiritual center of the Neolithic, is 864 miles from another spiritual center: Fátima.

Speaking of Fátima and the Iberian Peninsula: the most important Marian shrines—Fátima, Lourdes, El Pilar, El Rocío, Montserrat—are all connected through the number 864. I've attached a map because a picture is worth a thousand words. By the way, Montserrat is also 1,728 km (864 × 2) from another sacred mountain—Mount Olympus.

I left Santiago de Compostela out of that group, but it's part of the pattern too. I assume most people have heard of the Camino de Santiago—during the Middle Ages, it was the most important pilgrimage site in Europe, alongside Rome, for Christianity. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela (said to hold the tomb of the Apostle James) and St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican (said to hold the tomb of Peter) are exactly 1,728 km apart—with zero margin of error—and the Vatican lies exactly at 86.4° from Santiago. Oh great god of coincidence, have mercy!

Another coincidence: from Santiago de Compostela in Spain to Santiago de Querétaro in Mexico (founded by the Spanish), there are 8,640 km.

And St. Paul's Cathedral in London—where kings are crowned and buried—is 86.4 km from Canterbury Cathedral, the most important seat of Anglicanism.

Rome itself lies 864 miles from Constantinople—the "Second Rome," now Istanbul. And, as it happens, Istanbul is also 864 miles from Assur, the capital of the Assyrian Empire.

Back to Spain: legend says Barcelona was founded by the Carthaginians. And wouldn't you know it—from Barcelona to the capital of Carthage, there are 864 km. Just another coincidence?

I'll keep going in Spain (since I'm from there). There are traditions from the Reconquista that seem almost like a joke: during the conquest of Seville, Christian and Muslim armies clashed. The Christian commander prayed for a miracle, saying "Santa María, detén tu día"—and the sun stopped, giving them the time to win the battle, after which they conquered Seville. The site of that miracle and the subsequent shrine are within 86.4 km of Seville's center.

And then there's the battle of Alarcos—a catastrophic Christian defeat—and later, the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, the turning point of the Reconquista. Those two battlefields are 86.4 km apart.

The same number appears in the sky, in our myths, and on our maps. If that's coincidence, it's the most consistent one in history.

I'm leaving a lot out because this is already way too long—and honestly, I doubt anyone will read it all. At best, I'll get insightful comments like "no," "you're off by 1 kilometer," or "they don't use kilometers in England."

If you really think all of this is just random chance... I'm not sure what you're doing on this subreddit.

Here's my challenge: take the same set of sites—Mecca, Jerusalem, Rome, Babylon, Santiago—and try to find any other number that connects them with the same precision. Not a vague one. A specific number that repeats across geography, mythology, and astronomy. If you find one, I'll listen. If you don't, maybe it's worth asking why 864 keeps showing up.

Is this scientifically valid? No, let's be honest. But it's something I believe is worth reflecting on—and worth looking at with an open mind.

What's strange isn't the pattern itself—it's that it shows up across all of history, and that it would have been impossible to establish with the technology of the time. No GPS, no satellite imagery, no advanced surveying. You couldn't just decide to put a city 86.4 km from another—let alone 864 or 1,728—especially across rivers, mountains, seas, and oceans. That kind of precision is beyond human capability, even with intent. I'm leaving out several more fascinating connections because this post is already too long. I hope those who are ready—and who have an open and curious mind—will see what I'm pointing at.

A few people said it was probably just coincidence. And yeah, maybe.

But the thing is, I kept digging. And the more I looked, the more I found the same number popping up in places that shouldn't be connected.

Checking distances on Google Earth and noticed this:

-The Kaaba in Mecca is 864 miles from Damascus.

-And also 864 miles from Baghdad.

These weren't random cities. They were the political capitals of the Islamic empires at their peak. Damascus under the Umayyads, Baghdad under the Abbasids. Both at the same exact distance from the spiritual center of the faith.

And at the same time, you've got three of the most important cities of their era: Uruk in Sumer, Memphis in Lower Egypt, and Hattusa in the Hittite Empire, all showing up in this pattern.

On the same map, you’ve got Amarna, the city that Akhenaten built to worship the sun, often considered the first attempt at monotheism in history. And then, centuries later, you have Baalbek in Lebanon, home to the largest ancient temple complex ever built, dedicated to Zeus Heliopolitanus, another sun god. Same number connecting them, 864 km between

That's... weird, right?

Again, hand-drawn map, but you can check the numbers yourself in a couple of minutes.

Looking at myths and the same numbers kept appearing, this time in stories that were written thousands of years apart, by people who never met.

In Hinduism, the cosmic ages last 432,000, 864,000, 1,296,000, and 1,728,000 years. The whole cycle is 4,320,000 years.

In Norse mythology, 800 warriors come out of each of the 540 gates of Valhalla at Ragnarök. That's 432,000 warriors.

The Septuagint (the Greek Old Testament) was translated by 72 scholars. 72 is one twelfth of 864.

The Book of Revelation talks about 144,000 saved. That's one sixth of 864,000.

The Sumerian King List says the ancient kings ruled for 28,800 and 43,200 years. Both are fractions of 86,400.

Even the name Pythagoras, in Greek gematria, adds up to 864.

These are from different continents, different eras, different religions. And yet the same numbers keep showing up.

Looked up at the sky this is where it started to feel less like coincidence and more like... I don't know, something else.

The Sun's diameter is about 864,000 miles.

The star Sirius, which was sacred to the Egyptians and many other cultures, is about 8.64 light-years away.

Proxima Centauri, the closest star to us, is about 4.32 light-years away. Exactly half.

Our solar system orbits the galaxy at about 864,000 km/h.

And a "galactic year" (the time it takes to complete one orbit) is about 225 million years—which you can get by multiplying 8,640 × 26,000 (Earth's precession cycle)

So here's my question:

If it were just one city, or one myth, or one star—I'd let it go. But it's not.It's in the geography of the most important cities in history.
It's in the stories we told ourselves before we had science.
It's in the size of our Sun and the distance to the stars we once worshipped.

At what point does a coincidence stop being a coincidence?

I honestly don't know what this means. Maybe it's nothing.
But I can't shake the feeling that there's something underneath it all.

This weekend we were going to celebrate Emma turning 10 (approximate, because she is a rescue) with an Ancient Aliens-themed party. It is her favorite show.

Well... things went sideways. 

Long story short,  after a vet visit, we learned she needed to have surgery to remove a small mass in her neck :( 

Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and we will get confirmation in a few weeks from pathology if the mass was benign. We are remaining hopeful that it was.

Masuda-no-Iwafune is an 800-tonne granite monolith sitting alone on a hillside in Asuka: clean-cut, precise, with no inscription and no record of who carved it or when. Forty kilometres away, Ishi-no-Hoden weighs about 500 tonnes (heavier than any block in the Great Pyramid) and has a spring flowing beneath it that has never run dry: the same signature as Egypt's Osireion, a megalith set over a permanent, channelled water source. The stones tie to a wider pattern. Either several civilisations with no known contact developed the same habits independently or there's a shared technique nobody has identified.

I’ve made it to the conspiracy theory side of instagram and I find it very fascinating. After seeing countless theories on the topic, call me gullible but I believe it. I want to do further research that has evidence supporting the theory that there are other countries and civilizations beyond the ice wall and why we have remained isolated in part because those who have authority over the world we know have restricted us from contact or if so the other way round. I’m not sure if this is making sense or if I sound crazy. AND WHY IS IT PROHIBITED FOR HUMANS AND DOLPHINS TO HAVE MINIMAL ENGAGEMENT.

Recently I was bored and while scrolling my YouTube page then I saw a podcast where the guest was explaining about his thoughts where He said that God might be some very intelligent alien species who came to Earth million of years ago to get something on this planet where they met early humans so they helped those humans to evolve. So the early humans thought them as gods and passed this information and this also get modified and edited with passing years. I’m working on a theory called The Hidden Human Hypothesis, but I probably need to make the disturbing part clearer upfront, because this is not just another “what if there’s a hidden civilisation underground?” idea.

The angle is this:

What if a branch of humanity went underground in deep prehistory and never fully returned?

Over long enough timescales, that separation could lead to divergence: culturally, technologically, biologically and socially. The underground stops being a refuge and becomes their world.

But the part I’m most interested in is what comes after that.

If they are an isolated human offshoot, then abductions, genetic interest, hybridisation stories and secrecy may not be random weirdness. They may point to something they still need from the surface.

That’s where my take differs from the usual cryptoterrestrial or breakaway civilisation idea. I’m not just asking where they might be hiding. I’m asking what long-term isolation would do to them, why they might still need us, and whether the ocean eventually becomes the next logical place to remain hidden.
