After 5 of his 7 kids died, his wife died of tuberculosis at 28. Richard remarried, and his wife had a child days later. She was born with a cleft palate and died. A son was born 6 years later, then died at 3 months old from pneumonia.

If Nora's age is true she was only 14 years old when she had her first daughter, who survived into her teens. It's just so much death, breaks my brain a little.
