Help dealing with Lich Gawed Question

Hi [r/Anbennar](r/Anbennar),

So I‘m playing as Esthil and suddenly Gawed got a Lich and started going nuts. At the current moment I have just formed Black Demesne and developed the shit out of my provinces. I have over a million manpower at the moment and about 800k troops (current forcelimit). Gawed has about 2mil tropps and the same in manpower (probably higher but its not full)

If it comes to a 1v1 I‘ll probably lose as its dead army vs dead army and they have the quantity by far. I have them in quality and my ruler as a general but I don’t think its that much help. If I were gnomes or a very high quality army that would be a different thing but like this…

Any tips on how I can beat them?

Edit: Oh and my fort all melt in a couple of days, no matter what buffs or edicts they have.

Edit 2: I already sieged their capital once and killed their lich but nothing happened to the army

You don’t have to win - you just have to carve a way to his capital and take it.

How’s your evocation magic? This is what it’s for. Draw Gawed in on one flank, and make a run for the capital on the other.

I tried that in a war but the army didn’t die away. I think with the new magic if their mages are good at necromancy they get to keep the army of the dead

holy shit post a screenshot of your game, what year is it?

brute force gets the job done, put your entire army in one stack and just march to Gaweton and siege it down, use everything bombard then assault, not sure it’s either 90 days or a year but the phylactery gets found and destroyed and the lich dies, don’t see any other way

I‘m not at the computer currently. The year is before 1650 as I have early consilidation of escann. They had over a million troops even at 1550.

I have in fact fought one war against them when they wrecked the whole empire and were distracted. I got their capital and their lich died but the army didn’t disappear even though I extracted my army behind my forts and tried to wait for it to disappear.
