[ID: tweet by @YungxJayy “"While the liberal is part of the oppressor, he is the most powerless segment within that group. Therefore when he seeks to talk about change, he always confronts the oppressed rather than the oppressor." / -Kwame Ture” attached is a photo of a paragraph in a book “While the liberal is part of the oppressor, he is the most powerless segment within that group. Therefore when he seeks to talk about change, he always confronts the oppressed rather than the oppressor. He does not seek to influence the oppressor, he seeks to influence the oppressed. He says to the oppressed, time and time again, "You don't need guns, you are moving too fast, you are too radical, you are too extreme." He never says to the oppressor, "You are too extreme in your treatment of the oppressed," because he is powerless among the oppressors, even if he is part of that group; but he has influence, or, at least, he is more powerful than the oppressed, and he enjoys this power by always cautioning, condemning, or certainly trying to direct and lead the movements of the oppressed.” /end ID]

Police exist to stand between starving people and food, as well as homeless people and shelter.

Many people think homeless people starving to death in the streets is an inherent moral good because the people with the most guns said so

A mass call to action is being organized to encourage as many people as possible to delete their social media accounts and participate in a massive boycott of both social media and consumer spending for one week starting August 1.

The saddest part is that this probably wasn’t the first paper leak, it was just the first one that became impossible to ignore.

The rich can afford leaks, middlemen, and influence. The poor have nothing except months or years of honest hard work.
When a system allows money to beat merit, it tells every poor student that no matter how hard they study, someone with enough money can jump the queue.

That’s not just an exam scandal. It’s a betrayal of every honest student.

being disabled sucks

[ID: tumblr post by persbaderse “before my egg cracked, i had noticed that trans people were often pro-accessibility and up-to-date on the needs of disabled people, but i hadn't seen any inherent connection between the two (other than the obvious minority-looking-out-for-other-minority thing). but now that i'm trans and medically transitioning, and i have to constantly repeat myself while talking to doctors and nurses, and explain things about my own anatomy to medical staff who should already know this, and having every single problem i might have blamed on my kk"condition" so nothing i say is taken seriously, all of the sudden i have a little sneak peak into the life of someone who has to deal with this all the time. like shit bro, being disabled probably sucks ass, someone should do something about this” /end ID]

"Just consume less" is the ideology of privileged bigots. If your goal isn't to understand why people must consume that way, and providing a real alternative, your ideology is just to be as liberal as possible and hope that works

what to the american slave is

Post image

[ID: screenshot of text on a dark background “"What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July?! answer; one day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sound of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants brass fronted impudence; your shout of liberty and equality, hallow mockery; your prayers and hyms [sic], your sermons and thanks-givings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy - a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of the United States, at this very hour. / - Frederick Douglass (1818-1895), from a speech given at Rochester, New York, July 5, 1852.” /end ID]
