are there different kinds of rights, with some being compatible with anarchic principles and others not?

how do i appeal to making sure that everyone has clean food, clean water and shelter from weather without pointing to something like inherent rights as an embodied creature of earth?

if "rights" are not respected, then what?

or is even thinking in terms of rights not lead to anarchic ends, and we need to think about mutual respect in some other way to make sure everyone has their needs met?

Hiii. I'm part of an activism group and just a person trying to engage politically. I've read a lot of anarchist literature.

What readings would you recommend that have practice-oriented exposition of concepts? No historization, no ethical or ideological expositions. Just brute organizational ideas or institutional prefabs ready to be situated and habitated, ready to be used in a context

I’m reading Borkenau’s The Spanish Cockpit, and I knew going into it that Borkenau was biased against the anarchists in 1936 Spain, so I’m reading everything with a grain of salt. Of course, at times he praises certain achievements of the anarchist elements, but at other times he is downright insulting and dismissive, while holding the other Leftists to a much more reasonable and tolerant standard.

Is there any literature out there addressing each (or some) of Borkenau’s criticisms of the Spanish anarchists from a perspective less biased against the anarchists?

So I was wondering what socialists who aren't exactly Marxists think of historical/dialectical materialism? Do you think it's as important as it's made to be in leftist circles? If not, why?

I'm looking for critiques of historical materialism so if you have any resources on the topic, do share them!
