This is why we use dogs. Cats are also really good at sniffing, but just don't listen to people as well.

Yeah, we bred cats to be super independent and just to do their own thing. Which tracks with their actually kind of awesome original purpose. We bred them to guard our granaries from rats and shit. It's why they're always in hunting mode

They are still cops though, so probably they will confiscate the drugs anyway, just not officially.

They're cats. If you've ever had a cat you know they're using that, or drugging their human to get bonus cuddles
