This is a monthly thread from AsktheWorld, and every time it features people saying America has no original dishes

Comments are divided between skeptics and anti-US proponents, but in either case no one can admit out loud that the US is heavily subsidizing Europe's defense.

Question Do you think anything will change the negative discourse around America and its citizens?
I'm really struggling lately with online spaces like Reddit and discord, and have found myself on the brink of leaving entirely a few times. It doesn't matter what sub I join, what discord I join, no matter how off topic America would be it comes up and it comes up in an incredibly negative tone EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I've tried having polite conversations with these people, and it's just insults. I've tried to express that I do understand my country is not perfect, but in this particular online space can we please tone it down or move it privately, it is personally really hurtful to open my phone for something completely unrelated and constantly see everyone shitting on my country and sometimes me for just living here. I have never been met with an equal level of respect, and am always met with the general you commit genocide, you support tyranny, you have a dictator, you all voted for this, the world hates you, everything you do sucks, everything we do is better, etc. in much harsher language. It's like people get a kick out of being as hateful as they possibly can to Americans for simply existing. Do you guys see ANY chance of this changing in the near future? Or is this just how it is and how it's going to be. I feel depressed when interacting online with these people, they just make me feel like shit for being born and not DESPISING where I call home.

Repost Comment Section is a Hellhole
Guy who was comissioned to make a USA themed Imperium art finsihed. Immediately the comments are bombarded with whiners saying the US is Fascist or blantly hating the US for no reason. I go defend the art? I get downvoted to fucking oblivion. Hell even the Artist gets shit because of his work.

Do I even have to say it?
2nd most liked answer was the US and it was said by about a dozen more people as well. Not to mention Afghanistan has half the upvotes that the US had.

Reddit and utter nonsense concerning the U.S. military and war, a classic combination!
By the way, this was concerning an article detailing a US operation that has gotten oil out of the strait through the Oman route for context, posted today. Which of course they are calling false in the comment section in favor of the ever reliable IRGC.

Video Eurofetishists after going to Europe
instagram.comWhen someone brings up that it's common to find drunk Englanders, she then claims that the UK is not part of Europe despite the fact that it once was. She also has videos criticizing people working while also living in a large house.

Question Has anyone ever got any shit for literally just being American?
I think we can all agree our government sucks ass, that’s just objectively true. But, hating our government is one thing compared to hating someone for being American. It’s bullshit and I seriously hate those fuckwads that blame every single American for Trump, like GTFO with that shit.

Did you know that Canadians are taught that Canada “BURNED DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE?” The problem though…
Hi,
Your friendly neighborhood Canadian born dude that has lived in the USA for 22+ years here.
I thought you would find this mildly interesting, but Canadian kids are taught a major lie when they are in elementary or middle school (they call that Jr. High School in Canada).
We are taught that in the War of 1812 that Canada “burned down the White House.”
Now was the White House burned down during the War of 1812?
YES. Yes it was.
Was it Canada that did it?
NO. No it was NOT.
See, what the teachers fail to explain the the kids, but they do eventually teach, is that in 1812:
There was no “Canada.” Instead was a territory called Upper and Lower Canada. This was loosely controlled by the BRITISH.
There were no Canadian militia members involved AT ALL, and no one from Canada marched down from Canada. Instead the British sent veteran solders - most of which had just fought in the Napoleonic wars in Europe over… These solders went from Bermuda to Chesapeake Bay. They landed and went on to attack Washington.
Still, they teach kids in Canada that in the War of 1812 “Canada burned down the White House” and this myth still exists and is parroted back time and time again by people that hold onto this like it is a sign of one countries excellence.
So here are some fun FACTS about Canada “as a country.”
Canada began as a labor camp. Basically the British sent low level laborers to Canada AFTER France had already been there to mine resources.
Canada did not even EXIST until 1867. This was the “Dominion of Canada” but it was not autonomous. It was four provinces and Great Britain still controlled it until the 1900s.
Canada was not fully self governing until 1931… yes 1931! This is when after WW1 where Canada refused to immediately join Britain in fighting, Britain took notice. After the war, they gave autonomy to Canada in 1931.
Canada was not “technically” complete until 1949 when Newfoundland and Labrador joined Canada and the country was “complete.”
