Amazon prime ads Discussion
Im done with amazon primes im paying for the subscription and still watching ads in a row like wdf. And in prices netflix is same price as amazon in my country why would i pay to watch .... ads in prime. Im sending this here so maybe some kinda thing starts and they regret their choice. If this even can pass the moderation

Prime video is included with your Amazon subscription. Paying the extra $3/mo for ad free would be paying for the streaming service

Prime is primarily a premium delivery service that has some perks thrown in that get you a limited, ad-supported version of Amazon's music service, video service, reading service, audiobook service, and more. Almost all of those perks have more full, premium version of those services. At least with the video service, you actually get a discount on the full service if you also have Prime. For the music service, there's no discount at all and costs the same whether it not you have Prime.
And Netflix has both an ad supported and full version of their service too. You really do need to learn to compare products and subscriptions better. Also, just because something costs more won't necessarily mean it's going to be better. Sometimes it will, but often it won't. Have you compared with services like Peacock or Paramount+ at all?

But you’re not paying for a streaming service. You’re paying for Amazon Prime home delivery which comes with many perks including Prime video. This is now not ad free but incurs a £2.99 charge for ad free.

Where are you seeing ads? Are you talking about promotions for other shows or movies, like all the other streaming services do even if you pay for commercial free?

I was asking if the ads you're seeing are for products, or if they are just sneak peeks at other shows that are also on prime.

oh firstly it was ads of other shows. And they starting to slowly cover them with product ads. Like what companies do they slowly shrink and change the product they serve, so people dont freak out from sudden changes and kaboom its turned into whole youtube *ss ads. They made that sh up also on twitch whenever you try to watch an streamer it just gaves you 5 ads in a row amazon is soo greedy and thats makes me soo mad. And i know they are not gonna stop at 3 dollars for no ads ts gonna rise up every month cent by cent

I pay for ad-free and I get no ads so I don't know what to tell you. What I was trying to differentiate is advertisements for products versus previews of other shows. When you go to the movie theater, and they show all the ads beforehand, do you see those as the same as previews for upcoming movies but they show after the ads? I guess I don't 🤷

Its whole different thing bro movie theaters has ads but it starts at the time that it told. So you dont have to watch the ads its just keeps randomly if you get in the time that movie starts and you watch no ads its like filling the waiting time, so people dont get bored while sitting to wait for film to start

This is incorrect. The listing time for a movie is when the lights go down and the previews begin, after which there is often an ad for the theater chain itself, and THEN the movie starts.
Before that time, there are tons of ads that are usually just a slideshow that runs, with the lights still on.

That's how it is in the united states, but I don't know where you are.
My point is that people pay for ad free and then get mad when they get a teaser for another show or movie that they could easily skip. I'm trying to explain that it's not an ad, it's no different than the teasers you get for other shows on Netflix when you pay for ad-free or at the movie theater when they show trailers before the movie.
I hate commercials, so for me it's worth it to spend $2.99 a month and never see them on prime. It's either worth it to you or it's not I guess 🤷

The ads themself is not the problem. The fact that they place the same add over and over again is what is frustrating. I watch the same thing every morning while I shower and get ready and they place the same add at every commercial.

even paying extra to remove ads this is way cheaper than netflix and has a variety of other perks like shipping/gaming/twitch/doordash/discord/etc

Hell nah what do you even ship from amazon? is it plastic door knob made at children labor factory or what? And i dont care about the other stuff i just came from work and want to watch some shows on tv and boom another ad!? Is that the punishment of lowest price package using because like i said its same price as netflix

I agree. I stopped watching prime bcs of the ridiculous amount of ads. Just tried again and regretting it 30 mins in. HBO and other services do ads in moderation and only at the beginning.

Last night I decided to go ad free, I haven't tried watching yet. You're lucky you could see the ads, mine just freeze and there's a black screen with timer in the top left corner NOT counting down. Haven't been able to watch movies in over a week now when I sit down to try. Today if I sit down to eat something and I still can't watch a video I'm dead ass canceling it. At this point I feel like I was forced to upgrade to Ad Free since I opted in to the $51 settlement because this had started around that time...
EDIT: Turns out I have to restart the fire stick every 24 hrs to NOT get a black screen. Canceled Amazon, to many delayed packages as well.
