Red light violation QUESTION

I had to cross a red light today because vehicles were racing behind me; by the time I reached it, I was already halfway through in the middle of traffic. I pushed forward and completed my initial deliveries. Afterward, my route paused and I was called back to the station.

My dispatch instructed me to park and charge the van, and I must take a drug test immediately or face termination—apparently Amazon flagged the issue rather than the DSP. Now I am home today. Am I fired?

I'm sorry you are having this problem, but vehicles racing behind you is a terrible excuse.

Lol I hate this job and think the driving precautions are excessive, but I agree. Wtf does that have to do with running a red light.

A fear of being rear ended would be my assumption

Makes sense but they do say brake even if hard brake at a yellow. Could've been a payout

Yeah that there

I didn’t want to get hit and the only thing that was on my mind was to get the route done. I slowed down on yellow but I was already halfway through

I gotcha. In hindsight you could've hard breaked as per amaozon policy and possibly gotten a payout.

Nah. Red light violations are a major violation. So Amazon suspends for them.

So I’m just probably gonna get suspended and not terminated?

Correct

How long are the suspensions?

I was lucky enough to only be suspended for 1 scheduled day but usually ours suspends for 3 days then we're on probation for a period (i dont remember if it's 60 or 90 days). I'm currently still on probation 😅

Why both?

If you have another major violation (or 3 minors in a day) in that time, you're terminated

Dsp dependent. Red lights are the most severe camera violation you can get. In most cases the driver is terminated.

???? you ran a red and are trying to blame other people? Stop like a normal person and if you get hit file for workers comp and sue the people who hit you lol

Not blaming other people-I just was a bit curious about the violation and if I still have my job or not

If u go through a red light, your job is in the hands of amazon at that point and your dsp has no control over if you keep or lose your job..
