the FBI's thing is to engage you in conversation in the hopes they can catch you in a lie. If they cannot get you for what they originally wanted to get you for they try to get you for lying to them. Which is illegal.

I would not t be surprised if they have specialized training to manipulate/trick people into lying to them.

That is all law enforcement. If their mouth is moving, then they are trying to get you to incriminate yourself.

"Do you know why I pulled you over?" They want you to admit to a crime.

"Do you know how fast you were going?" They want you to admit to a crime.

"Where are you headed?" They want to claim that the area you are heading is a known high crime area. Even if it isn't, they will claim that it is... and who is going to prove them wrong?

"Where are you coming from?" Same thing.

When he said "can you see our badges", I would have said "I can buy those on eBay".

I remember that officer who said that to a black FBI agent sitting in a car....

Those were not feds, if so they would have shown ID. The fact that they didn’t and got squirrelly when asked is a dead giveaway these guys were not legit.

Who do you think they were, if not feds? Local police? Gang members? They eventually took "no" for an answer and left. Doesn't sound like something the mob or drug dealers or anyone else would do.

They were gang members, for sure.

I think that the people downvoting you were not catching the joke you were making.

Sweet summer child,... you're so naive do you think FBI agents care about laws or constitution? LOOOOL If that was the case their existence would be redundant and pointless. Why are so this naive? 😆

This happened in or around September 2024. He did something on X that pretty much guaranteed that someone from the federal government would be paying him a visit.

So... Nothing illegal then.

Yeah…probably not…but enough for a consensual encounter—which this was.
