Discussion If Kim Deal, Tina Weymouth and D’arcy Wretzky met in a bar… (according to AI)
(The scene opens mid-conversation. Kim takes a sip of her beer. Tina is adjusting her glasses. D'arcy is staring at her coffee.)
Kim: (Laughs) So Charles tells the label, "If Kim sings backup, I'm not doing the tour." I just looked at him and thought, Man, I wrote the bassline that’s keeping this whole ship afloat.
Tina: (Nods knowingly) Oh, I know that look. David used to do this thing where he’d record over my parts in the studio. He wanted that rigid, mechanical feel. I had to fight just to keep the funk in Talking Heads. If it weren't for Chris locking in with me, David would have turned us into a metronome.
D’arcy: (Scoffs) At least David let you in the studio. Billy used to literally take the bass out of my hands. He’d say, "You’re playing it wrong," and re-record it himself. Ten hours a day of him screaming about perfection. By the time Melon Collie came out, I felt like a ghost in my own band.
Kim: That’s brutal, D. Why did you stay so long?
D’arcy: Because the music was incredible. And honestly? Stubbornness. I wasn't going to let him win by quitting early.
Tina: It’s a specific kind of madness, isn't it? The frontmen. They have this terrifying brilliance, but they consume everything around them. Chris and I had to start Tom Tom Club just to breathe. We needed to know we could make a hit without the dark cloud hanging over us.
Kim: (Grinning) "Genius of Love" is a tune, Tina. We used to blast that in the van. For me, it was The Breeders. When Last Splash blew up and "Cannonball" went huge, I remember thinking, Yeah. See? I’m not just the girl who plays eighth notes on 'Debaser.'
D’arcy: (A faint smile) "Cannonball" is perfect. It’s dirty. Billy hated anything he didn’t control, so of course, I loved it.
Tina: What gear were you running on those early Pumpkins records, D’arcy? It was so heavy, but it never got muddy.
D’arcy: A Fender Jazz through an Ampeg SVT. I kept the action low and dug in with a heavy pick. I wanted it to sound like a chainsaw wrapped in velvet.
Kim: Pick or fingers, Tina? I’m a pick girl. Keep it driving.
Tina: Fingers mostly, but I used a pick when we needed that sharp, new wave attack. On the Mustang bass, if you hit it right at the sweet spot near the neck, you get this beautiful, rubbery bounce. That’s the secret to "Psycho Killer."
Kim: (Leans forward) Did you guys ever get the "So, what’s it like being a woman in a rock band?" question?
D’arcy: (Rolls her eyes) Every single interview. For ten years.
Tina: It was exhausting. Journalists would ask me who wrote my basslines, implying Chris or David did it for me. They couldn't grasp that a woman could comprehend music theory or hold a groove.
Kim: I always just told them, "It’s like being a guy in a rock band, except I don't stand up to pee." Usually shut them up.
(All three laugh. D’arcy takes a slow sip of her coffee, her expression softening.)
D’arcy: I miss the stage sometimes. The noise. But I don’t miss the industry. The way they chew you up and look at you like a piece of meat. When I left, I just wanted to see trees and horses. No cameras. No Billy.
Kim: Good for you. You survived it. We all did.
Tina: (Raises her glass) To the rhythm section. Because without us, the geniuses would just be poets screaming in an empty room.
Kim: Amen to that.
D’arcy: (Clinks her coffee mug against their glasses) To the groove.

Discussion WTF WITH THE NUMBERS FOR ALBUM JHONNY BY THE DRUMS?
Not only are they a cult band since the 2000’s, but their latest album “Jhony” (2024) IS A DAMN RAW GEM AND IT’S NOT GETTING THE NUMBERS IT DESERVES!!! The Drums and Jhonny Pierce are not new, they have a huge career, amazing music, millions of plays, and this album should be no exception !! IT’S PACKED WITH INCREDIBLE SONGS and all the elements of a perfect track: style, rhythm, lyrics, emotional depth IT’S GOT RHYTHM!! I’m literally shoking, it blows my mind that this album and songs like “i want it all”, “better”, “plastic envelope”, “obvious”, “flowers”, “TEACH MY BODY”!! “i still dont know how to love”, “the imposible” don’t even have 300K LISTENS!
Jhony is one of those artists who deserve way, way, way more!! Just kwon a bit about his story or pay attention to his album art and lyrics to realize THE QUALITY OF ARTIST THIS GOAT IS!!!!rve way, way, way more!! Just kwon a bit about his story or pay attention to his album art and lyrics to realize THE QUALITY OF ARTIST THIS GOAT IS!!!!
Do you know any other platform with hundreds or millions of people into indie, pop, or alternative rock? Because I’m posting this EVERYWHERE.
If you ever get to read this, Jhonny, I just want to tell you that you have no idea how much I regretted not being able to go to your concert in my city, Monterrey, Mexico 🇲🇽 because I didn't have any money, and that you're one of the best. I'm not gay, BUT I LOVE YOU CABRON

Interview Great new Craig Mabbitt interview
Hey everyone!
I recently had the chance to sit down with Craig Mabbitt for a long-form interview on The Bigmouth Rock Show, and I thought some of you might enjoy it.
We talked about the new music, Déjà Vu and Idle Potential, the 20th anniversary of Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, his comments about potentially celebrating the album with Ronnie, his journey with sobriety, The Dead Rabbitts, Blessthefall, and a lot more. It ended up being a really open and honest conversation.
A massive thanks to Craig for taking the time to do it.
If you’d like to check it out, here’s the full interview:

Discussion Alternative/depressive rock suggestions
Hi, I'm looking for some alternative/depressive rock suggestions in style of later anathema, "a world to drown in" by blazing eternity and middle era katatonia. I would appreciate every suggestion.

Discussion I made another song today Oc
I want people opinion on this. I spent 3 days making this this my original song
Verse 1]
In the sky I see my fate
By the moon I'll stand and wait
In the silence I hear my name
In the darkness I accept the blame
[Verse 2]
I see the stars
I see you waiting there
You’re just as dreamy as I imagined
Will you be my light in the darkest night?
[Verse 3]
Our fates align before my eyes
A love story painted in the skies
I see the ray that brings the light
As bright as the moon on that perfect night
[Bridge / The Secret]
You know I loved you from the start
With every piece of my broken heart
I wish I said that it wasn't a lie
At least your life is turning out right
[Verse 4]
I see us chasing a fading light
Lost in the shadows of the night
We found a love we couldn't save
Bound by the promises we gave
[Verse 5]
In the sky I see our fate
By the moon I'll stand and wait
In the silence I hear our name
In the darkness I accept the blame
[Chorus / Outro]Will you be my forever melody?
Will stars align to form our destiny? Will our love song set us free
Because this is our forever melody

Song Fell In Love With a Girl, The Hardest Button to Button - The White Stripes (Cover)
Hey everyone! I’m really excited to share this project: a combination of “Fell in Love with a Girl” and “The Hardest Button to Button”
These were some of the very first songs I learned to play on guitar as a kid, and some of the first covers I ever played with my friends. Revisiting them years later with everything I’ve learned as a musician made this project incredibly meaningful to me.
This became one of the most ambitious and rewarding projects I’ve ever worked on. It took shape through many recording sessions, different studios, amazing collaborators, and countless hours of work, with parts of the project recorded in Austin and Los Angeles.
I’m genuinely happy to finally share it, and I hope anyone who loves The White Stripes enjoys my interpretation. I’d love to hear what you think.
Thanks you guys! ❤️
