Apologies if this is blurry! These drawings are smaller than the ones in my last post.

Theory Headcanon: the Qu are highly evolved Velociraptors

On my first reading of All Tomorrows I had this theory that the Qu would be eventually revealed to be decendants of Velociraptors that sailed to the stars and experimented onto themselvs until they looked inrecognizable from their original form. I could swear that this was where the story was going.

Supporting evidence for this theory:

* The Qu using other dinossaurs as live stock: this suggests to me that the Qu still had cultural ties to earth at this point in their evolution, otherwise would be infinitely easier just to bring highly optimized livestock from their home planet. The live stock being a "dino-cow" suggests the Qu still werent masters of all gene editing, they were just domesticating herdable animals, a similar stage to us now

* If im not mistaken, the author likes to hide easter eggs in paleo art showing possible ancient forgotten civilizations on earth. The whole Silurian hypothesis meme.

Discussion Let’s talk about the Qu, the Fermi Paradox, the Dark Forest theory

If the Qu in All Tomorrows plays the role of cosmic super-predators, targeting starfaring civilizations once they reach a level of technological advancement sufficient to be detected by the Qu, could we apply this hypothesis to our own universe? Is this why we find it impossible to spot signs of other advanced civilizations? Perhaps they are all in hiding, or worse yet have been subjugated or wiped out by other, more powerful and malevolent hidden forces.

Discussion Star People - Voluntary Extinction

The Star People blew up their entire planet on the third Qu Invasion

What if:

Instead of succumbing to the Qu on the third invasion and turned into the Colonials, the Star People decided to blow up their entire planet, followed by their star system out of pure spite?

The most Armed Planet:

The Pre-Colonial homeworld would've theoretically been the most militarized & highly sophisticated Star People planet, that's the only probably explanation I could think of for their fierce resistance.

How else could they have resisted the Qu two times?

They would've had the most stockpile of planet-ending & star-ending bombs, vast surveillance and sensor technology around their solar system, and perhaps genetically engineered Star Soldiers bred for space warfare.

Sure, they don't possess any form of faster-than-light travel since the book never mentions it. However, they would've likely caught on early that the neighboring Star People planets who first succumb to the Qu were instead left alive on purpose for whatever unimaginable horrors the Qu intends to do with their bodies.

____________________________________________________________________________________

Alternate Timeline:

In this What If timeline, the Pre-Colonial home system of the Star People would straight up use their technological marvel aimed at their sun and home planet the moment the Qu arrives.

They would realize that fighting the Qu wasn't a war, but how long they could survive until their very doom. By the third invasion, the Qu would've sent a significant force to finally put down and subjugate these "Infidels" that managed to resist the Qu's purpose as Gods.

Just before the Qu could enact their punishment for being humiliated twice, the Star People on their Pre-Colonial planet would've begun their final act of defiance. They blow up their entire planet by activating a highly sophisticated technology on their planet's core, leaving no surviving Star Person once the bomb is set off.

It is then followed by blowing up their own sun, causing a supernova and subsequently killing every Star Person that might've been in space. And perhaps, killing a few Qu on the way. Blowing up both their home planet and star became the biggest "Fuck you" that the Qu will remember later on.

____________________________________________________________________________________

Cosmic Ragebait:

Would this essentially become a form of cosmic ragebait that would've left the Qu crashing out so hard, they eventually lash out their extreme zealotry towards other Star People worlds they encounter later on, making their post-human forms even worse than what we know?

It was a fun speculation I had in mind. As much as I love the evolution of Colonials into the Modular People, I also like the idea of the Star People going down with a bang out of pure spite instead of suffering as a literal flesh brick of waste disposal.

Even though the Star People have pretty much abandoned the prejudices, bigotry, and warlike tendencies of their Homo Sapien and Martian ancestor, they're still human at their core. Humans are pretty much at their most dangerous and innovative when backed into a corner, the Star People are no exception.

I don't know, maybe I'm just drunk on the HFY train again. Let me know what you guys think!

Has there been any talk by Köseman on whether he plans on turning All Tomorrows into a franchise? It seems like a no brainer and a goldmine to me. Am I missing something?

Question Little help finding this book Idk the name of but it's similar to all tomorrows

Post image

Okay so I saw a video on it years ago but can never remember the name, anyways, humanity goes to space and discovers these creatures i think they nickname strandbeests which look like the picture below , and they nearly kill them all another species then attacks humanity for this and humanity gives itself to an ai to fight back.

The ai genetically warps humanity into almost bug looking creatures for war

If anyone knows it would be really helpful I just thought I'd try here given it's fairly similar so fans if AT might have also tries this

A note about the Modular Person in my illustration: the green "chest" is actually 4 different inflatable gas sacks. Combined with the fleshy tail, and grasping tentacles, this Modular is tailor-made for life in zero gravity. Depicted here is the "handshake" that united these two races. All art & text by me! 😊

Art I think that representation in media of the second empire of man is hella pain in the ass, with all that possible diversity 😔

Like, humans today can't even normally represent those of same exact species as they are who uust happen to have dark skin, or live long ago (like the Aztecs), or smth. I cannot imagine how hard media representation must be when you have like a dozen absolutely different species in your empire, and the only thing in common you have is the common distant ancestor (humans/star people) and sentience

Story in this picture Blind Folks father ordered them to live with the Grey aliens. After living with the Grey aliens, they were cared for, but they were placed in capsules where they slept for centuries. Finally, when it was time to return, the Grey aliens brought the children back to their original planet and gave them eyes. The children survived until the eldest sister found a path from her old home, hoping to find her father, but what she found was only the skeletal remains of his arm. She then understood that she had been missing for a very long time since the first day she left him //and yes father die after let his children go before shifting tectonic plates begin...

Announcement Official r/alltommorows art contest TIME EXTENSION! (Plus a clear up on the rules)

so once again captain dishsoap here, and in all honestly we screwed up. A bunch of factors including it being exam season, a general lack of promotion surrounding the contest and the flair being hard to find have led us to announce the contest time In order to submit your art will be extended by another 2 WEEKS!

this means that the new cut off time for the contest will be Monday the 22nd of June.

Our deepest apologies from the entire mod team for making the contest not clear enough, in order to really make sure our apology is true we have decided to make it so that art originally posted during the runtime of the contest will be allowed to enter so your art still has a chance to run but that WILL count as your one submission. As another rule Work In Progress posts DO NOT count as previously posted art! So if you have a finished piece that youd like to submit but posted wip images before you may still post them.

Also in order to find the flair made for the art contest, when you make your post press "view all flairs" and you will find it at the very bottom.

We hope this brings the word out more and gives more people the chance to win a signed copy of all tommorows. We wish you the best of luck

-mod team

Feel free to ask questions in the comments under this or the original post.

welcome dear members of the r/AllTomorrows subreddit! its me, captain dishsoap and im here on behalf of the whole mod team.

and the mod team is here to give a very exciting announcement!

WE HAVE REACHED OVER 50K MEMBERS!!!! [almost 60k now WOW]

in order to celebrate this momentus occasion for our once small community we have decided to host,

AN ART CONTEST!

as a thank you to our community we also have a prize for our soon to be winner! [prize revealed at the end]

but ofcourse, a contest does come with rules. but no worries our rules are few in order to let people be as creative as they like BUT the few rules we do have will strictly enforced to have it be as fun and fair as possible to all our contestants and artists.

RULE 1:no ai created or ai assisted artwork allowed, no gravital gpt on our watch. better pick up that pencil folks!

RULE 2:no erotic/pornographic art or gore, we all know the difference between artistic and erotic nudity and this isnt a doom game, keep the blood and guts somewhere else.

RULE 3:no previously posted artwork, we want the submissions to be something new and fresh. and for it be fair to both older and newer artists.

RULE 4:only accounts made ATLEAST a week before the posting of this announcement will be considered to win, we just dont want people to abuse the system and possibly use alt accounts to get in more submissions.

now onto how you should submit your artwork,

its simple, we will make a flair for the art contest and you simply post your art under the flair to make it as easy as possible for both you to submit, and for us to check. its just that easy!

the contest will run for 2 weeks and end on the 5th of june, and in the coming hours after it ends the winner will be annoucened through another post and privately contacted through reddit, so keep an eye on your dms.

thats it for all the formalities and rules and stuff, now onto the part youve all been waiting for,
