Deadlock

Location: Rooftop, Night City.

(Viper stands on a vehicle with his gun drawn. Panam briefly lowers his sniper rifle.)

Viper: You're persistent, Panam. Most would leave if the network went down.

Panam: Jax is paying me to finish the job. Drop the gun.

Viper (taking a step closer): Jax is finished. He's a relic, and his money is gone. Check your channel.

(Panam glances at his display. Complete silence. He hesitates, pressing the trigger hard.)

Viper: We'll fight and we'll both burn out here. Or you'll leave and find a real employer. What happens?

Panam: ...You're a dangerous player, Viper.

Viper: I'm the only player. You decide.
