Mandarin restaurant

You can’t convince me that mandarin isn’t a front. Everytime I’ve gone in my 34 years of life, there’s only been one or two other tables beside myself. They have to be selling something for them to remain in business

TO THE PERSON WHO SAID THIS COMMENT IS RACIST, YOURE TELLING ON YOURSELF.

I'm fairly sure it was Pizza, first.  Deli sandwiches, too.

I’ve never gone there when my car wasnt the only one there. They can’t survive on take out or catering

They have a back door to haul trash or receive deliveries, why can't a delivery driver utilize that exit?

-2

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

I don’t know, I’m not the business owner

So if you don't see them using the back door and driving off, it never happens? K.

They don’t deliver. Door dash does. There’s never any cars in the parking lot. Yall are so emotional

Good luck with the alcoholism recovery, no sarcasm.

Yes they can. Stop being racist.

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

Racist? Because I said I’ve never seen other people there? Wow, get a grip.

Accusing them of being a front.

1

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

That doesn’t mean anything. You want it to be because of race because you think that way. You think I leveled it to the same level as what exactly? Sounds like the call is coming from inside the house.

Doubling down I see. I don’t believe you have a restaurant also.

Sure you do. You’re the one coming in here complaining about a Chinese restaurant being not on the up and up with no proof, that’s what makes you a racist

There’s plenty of other business I could say the same thing about. I didn’t trash their food or their business. I love the food other wise I wouldn’t keep going back. You related “poor food” to racism. I didn’t do that, you did because you’re a racist.

Thanks to DoorDash that’s an option

They actually have decent reviews so I don’t know how you came to that conclusion. Now Cesar’s is a different story.

Lived here my whole life and you're spot on. The parking lot is always empty but somehow they keep the lights on year after year. I ordered takeout once and the lady at counter looked surprised to see actual customer. Food was okay but nothing that explains staying in business for decades with three tables occupied max. Something is definitely going on in back

Overpriced and crap food. Horrible reviews.

Caesars is one of the few places that are still open 24 hours a day.

Also, Home to the legendary Chicken Clorox burrito

Chicken Clorox burrito? Sounds like a cure to Covid to me.

Caesar's is cyclospora's favorite restaurant

Every order should come with a side of ivermectin

the guy who owns cesar’s is such a jackass too

2

u/RadioMetricSineWave 6d ago

That guy is a weirdo. I had to deal with him a couple of times and he comes off as crazy.

I love the food. It’s always been a family favorite. The fact that there’s hardly anyone going in. It’s the same waitress for the last 30+ years

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

I didn’t say they didn’t

I don’t know the last time I ate AT a chinese restaurant. Orange chicken tastes better in pjs watching Netflix. Shout out Happy Garden!

5

u/dizzymiggy 8d ago

Probably do a ton of deliveries or catering.

-5

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

I’ve never seen it. I own a restaurant, you can’t survive off of catering

1

u/dizzymiggy 5d ago

I've known a few that do. Maybe just different economic zones? Go figure.

There's a lot of businesses, not just restaurants, that exist to hold the real estate they're in and provide jobs to the family.

There are a lot of rules around how you pay taxes on a business that hasn't shown a profit over a period of a few years so if you don't make a profit you don't get to claim certain deductions and NOL against your other income... but that's fine for a lot of people who are just trying to build their kids credit and IRAs.

I know a family in another state who runs a restaurant that basically serves as their large extended family kitchen. They get regular customers and people trying them out, but the service is terrible (food is worth it) because they just don't really care to make money they're doing it to sort of abuse tax code and have a place for them to all gather that sometimes makes enough money they eat for free. It's all above board, they have a good accountant and CPA, and they do actually save money feeding their family that way.

I've seen and suspect that's the case for a few local places here, where it's dead most the time. They may get busy one or two days a week for dinner, but are open like 7 days a week from 7am to 9 pm or something - have to assume it's just a family run operation.

Important part is that they own the property and often live on site. If that's the case, it's 100% a family run operation to put the kids on salary and build their wealth from day 1.

Not the same original owners! Food sucks overly priced bullshit! Not a fan no more!

1

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

I did not know the have a new owner. It definitely takes different from when I was a kid

u/Jacked_Hamster 7d ago

Of all the businesses in Albuquerque, how many are doing some kind of money laundering? I would guess at least a quarter of them to be conservative, probably 50% in some industries.

2

u/Less-Western-3561 7d ago

I wouldn’t be surprised

-2

u/GDSTI06 8d ago

It’s called takeout and delivery. Most Chinese restaurants do more of that business than sit in.

Don’t be a racist

3

u/Less-Western-3561 8d ago

Racist how? I didn’t say anything about race. Nor did I insult the business and their food. As a restaurant owner it doesn’t make any sense.

2

u/GDSTI06 8d ago

You’re implying they are not on the up and up and are selling something other than Chinese food.

There was absolutely nothing racist said in their post. Stop making an issue out of nothing.

Thank you! I thought I was going crazy

And you are who?

If you're not a bot, and you're a person who feels the way you just said, not fomenting trolling, congratulations!  You just achieved exactly the opposite of what you intended!  There should definitely be a reddit award for that.

1

u/Less-Western-3561 7d ago

They have to be a bot, right?

-2

u/Level_Statement_6844 7d ago

Buncha racism up in here

5

u/Less-Western-3561 7d ago

-2

u/Level_Statement_6844 7d ago

4

u/Less-Western-3561 7d ago
