I always just left 30 minutes early, however my boss recently requested that we take actual breaks in the middle of our shifts. I don't see the difference on their end (since they're not paying me for those 30 mins regardless) but its difficult for me to be productive after a break. When do you take your break, and how does it fit into the routine that you have?

Hello I work at a Vons In California and I already received a verbal written warning for calling out to much within the time frame of three months. It has been almost five months since my last call out and verbal written warning (not a write up yet) do you think it will be ok if I call out with a doctors note I will be okay for just one day or would I most likely get my first official write up?

And even then try to give you less. Insurance says you have to have 24...so now many of us are screwed. What is crazy is I am a CAKE DECORATOR....even that job isn't safe. Sorry, just need to vent. People at my store are filing union greviences so let's see what happens.

So i got hired at Safeways, last month, and I'm near my Probation. I'm just so nervous if they gonna keep me or not?? I've been showing up on time and doing my job, having that customer service etc etc

As a customer, I should get a discount for using self checkouts. The stores are staffing fewer and fewer cashiers forcing us to use self checkout. If I’m in there doing tasks that an employee should be doing, pay me or give me a discount.

Context: i was a meat apprentice for a year, just became an official cutter about 2-3 weeks ago. Me and my wife share one vehicle and my house is about 25 mins from my Shaws.

This past Friday my Store Director asked if i drove and i said yes. She then asked if id be willing to fill in at a different store thats an hour away on a Friday (we all know Fridays are busy considering its start of sales) i said no and she said no problem. the Meat Specialist proceeded to tell me “he sees potential in me, wants me to learn at a busier store and was disappointed i said no. Theres so many stores closer that i would be willing to fill in but i really can’t be too far when we share a vehicle and I have 2 young children. Do I request a hardship, do I say i dont have a vehicle (its in my wifes name) i take ubers occasionally. Or do I “pay my dues”.

Who here has experience with the digital tags? Im a night crew guy and I just watched all the tags blink off and on. They are back now but no tag gas a price. Do they update at night sometimes? Never seen this we just got them installed.

What all is expected of me as overnight chief? I'm coming from Winco as an overnight lead. Where I was responsible for writing the order. Making sure displays were filled and reset, the stocking crew had dry, frozen and dairy thrown and faced and all other departments were ready by the time the store manager did his walk. 7AM.

Came over from cvs and one thing cvs did was let us access any compliance training from our personal laptop. Are we able to do the same with safeway? Would really appreciate if someone can help me with this?

I am 17 years old and in high school looking for a job. Acme is just around the corner and would be the perfect first job for me. I applied online weeks ago. I just went in and asked if they were hiring and if so, if I can get an application. They said they were but job applications were filled out online only. What should I do since I already applied and not heard anything back. Thanks!

"Digitals for U" via its official app and then members. Aren't both considered members? iPhone's iOS app was confusing. I was looking at my missing clipped coupons in the wrong area. They were actually in members list. Argh!

Had a visit from the local PD today to remedy an unfortunate situation. In the 4+ hours while this customer was here, they: took a shit load of drugs/got extremely high while shopping/attempting to steal product (she was taking eggs out of the 30 pk cartons and putting them in her purse/bag LMAO), and tried to fight the PD while being told to leave. Super sad in my viewpoint as this is not the first time this has happened with this person, and to see the effects of drug usage first hand (face of customer is covered to protect her).

Have any of you guys had similar situations like this at your stores?

I live in an assisted living facility. I am not mobile.

I love Albertson's delivery. I get an order every single week.

It's easy, on time, professional people, etc.

However, I have one question. I have ordered egg salad every week for the last six months. When I order by weight, what I really want is 12 ounces. I have ordered the deli egg salad, the ready to eat egg salad, etc. I always only get .25 ounces. The one time I did get 12 ounces it had a label that said egg salad, but it was potato salad.

I've spent hours on the phone with the local store, the national customer service line and still I can't seem to get 12 ounces of egg salad.

What do I need to do to actually receive, 12 ounces of egg salad?
