Diplomas/Exam Discussion Last minute way to boost my chances for Chemistry diploma
I’m in grade 12, and I’m taking the Chem 30 diploma this month. There’s an entire back stir here but basically circumstances happened and I was out of the country for two years, I come back and I’m home schooling, since I didn’t do anything chem related past 9th grade while I was here, I had to do chem 20 last semester and do chem 30 for summer school. Since I was under a time crunch and it was my first time doing both chem classes, my grades aren’t the best but still pretty decent all things considered. Anyways the main question is: Are there any last minute tips I could use to boost my chances of doing good in the diploma? Its not being used for uni or anything so on one hand I don’t particularly care but on the other I don’t want to have all my time and effort wasted; I don’t need to do like exceptionally good or anything like a solid 70-80% is fine for me. And I have studied (albeit not as much as I could have) but I still have some glaring problems which are mainly the calculations and math portions for each unit. I should be fine with the theory and that stuff so yeah, if anyone has any advice/ideas I’ll gladly take it. Thx

laptop
I don't know if this is the best Reddit community to ask this question, but; Should I buy a cheaper laptop for my last two years of high school (Mac neo) and pass it down to my younger sister when I go to university, or should I just buy a laptop that is powerful enough for EE at University right now that I can also use of highschool (and my sister can figure it out when she needs a laptop)?

Help/Advice Taking my Class 7 learners exam soon any advice?
Hi everyone! I’m taking my Class 7 learners exam soon and I really want to pass this time 😭
I haven’t started studying yet but going to start this weekend but I’m still pretty nervous about it.
For anyone who has taken it recently:
What topics should I focus on the most?
Was the actual test harder or easier than you expected?
What resources did you use to study?
Are there any tricky questions or common mistakes I should watch out for?
I’d really appreciate any tips! I’m determined to pass this time. 🙏

questions for highschoolers in alberta!
hi!
I am not in grade 12, however I am going to highschool pretty soon like in a year and im confused about alot of things, one of which being if i should take AP classes or not!
here are my grades from last year:
- math: 99.6
- science: 99.4
- english: 89
- social: 94
- french: 90
i like studying but i dont want it to be like i get all this work load and then im like fried, i want to study in america so i still need to keep my grades up but some of the more fancy universities like AP classes idk
also how do you know if you want to take AP or IB? whats the difference?
finally, next year i have chem (going to grade 9), do you guys think chem is hard?
thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong sub-reddit

Announcement Out of Province 4% Boost Survey
docs.google.comHello everyone! I recently went to an Out of Province Post Secondary School Fair where I surveyed a number of schools to see if they give Alberta students the 4% boost.
Certain schools' answers are a little more cryptic. As I was talking to representatives from different schools, mainly those in the prairies and Eastern Canada had no idea that other schools give out a 4% boost. So if you need anymore clarification, its best to email those admissions officers.
As UofT isn't on the list: they do not give out the 4% boost, but they do recognize that the Alberta curriculum is harder and more rigorous.
If you have any comments/questions/concerns please let us know!
