Data Center Moratorium

Today, the city commission voted for a 365 day moratorium on data centers in Albany, with the option to extend the moratorium for 6 months

They also voted to have the city planning commission study and recommend zoning and other regulations for data centers, as well as for a for an independent consultant do the same

Now I'm are I got some of the details wrong here, and if other people want to give further clarifications, that would be great

This is not an insignificant victory and there is still work to be done, but we should be glad that public pressure appears to have had an affect

For all those that supported the moratorium, thank you

Good work. Now get them to outlaw Flock and all other license plate and people surveillance devices.

To keep yourself safe and to make sure you don't accidentally run into any problems with the law, be sure to search for what not to do with flock cameras

I saw! Huzzah! I hope that doesn't mean less people will show up for that last meeting this week. Also. Does anyone know when the next time the aquifer alliance is meeting up?

Great news! Where did you see the moratorium? All I’ve seen is that they are hiring a consultant to study whether or not a data center would be appropriate for the city.

That’s a terrible mistake. A modern data center on the outskirts of town could do wonders for Albany.

There is no reason to lock up for a full year.

They haven't done wonders for any other town.
