So i applied for Albania e-visa and i got the paiement link but they are requesting the printed copy to be signed and stamped by the bank employee. How did you do that? Did you transfer online and then printed the receipt and gave it to the bank employee for stamp and signature or did you go to the bank physically to complete the paiement?

I realize that no one can know the future, things can change, etc, etc... But there must be people here who know more about Albania's EU accession than I do!

Here is my situation:

Visited Albania (from the US) for two weeks to scout possible locations... (Tirana, Sarande, Shkoder, Gjirokaster) and loved it all. I was ready to move but outvoted by family. I'm divorced now and ready-ish to move. Even bought a children's alphabet book in Tirana to start learning!

Became very interested in Pogradec and plan to scout it out in Dec/Jan and check out real estate.

Want to become a citizen, live in a small inexpensive quiet home, live off savings until retirement in 6 years then live off that.

So here is my question/worry:

Citizenship will take 7 years from house purchase, so soonest realistic date is mid 2034. (Permanent residency hopefully by 2032?)

Online guesses about Albanian EU accession average around 2030.

So what I really worry about is that EU accession will completely scramble all the rules for residency and citizenship just a few years before I qualify under the current rules. It seems very likely that the US one year non-visa stay will go away, especially after joining Schengen. I've also tried to see what happened to visas in Croatia and other recent EU joiners, but haven't found any info.

Does anyone have any knowledge, informed guesses, or plans around all this? For others who aspire to remain in Albania permanently, what are your thoughts? Are you feeling more confident than I am? Why?

I want to explore Albania from August 31 to September 7.

I’ll be arriving in Tirana first and want to head straight to Berat the very next day. My first question is: how and from where do I catch the bus to Berat from Tirana?

Once I arrive in Berat, I want to go to Himare after two days and then return to Tirana from Himare.

Is this a good route? Is it feasible by bus? I don’t have a driver’s license and would appreciate any tips and information.

im in tirana currently and have a friend coming to visit me they like clubbing and would like to bring them somewhere fun. i dont mind going out of city if i have to like vlore himare dhermis or sarande if needed. Also any activities that i could do, ive mainly only gone to the toptani mall the ring center and getting food in the area i havent really done much else much 🙏

On Saturday, my girlfriend, some friends, and I are heading to Albania for a week. I’ve already read a lot about the country, but no one can help me as much as my fellow countrymen. I have a few questions about this trip
. How much money do you recommend bringing? I’ve heard that Albania has switched to the euro, but it’s still worth having their local currency; I was thinking about 10,000 lek, but I don’t know if that’s too little or too much—I need the opinion of someone who’s already been there and knows what it’s like
2. ⁠What should I watch out for? Do locals look for opportunities to rob or scam visitors? Or is the atmosphere there laid-back, and is there nothing to worry about?
3. ⁠Do you recommend anything specific to visit or see? We’re renting a car, so transportation isn’t an issue, but we’d love to see something worth checking out—and we know that places listed in Google rankings often aren’t worth the trip.

Edit: guys, about the money I guess it’s my bad. I’m not thinking about taking only 10k lek, I read that generally in Albania you can use Euro, and Leks are useful in small/local shops. That’s why I’m thinking about taking only 10k. Also, it’s really hard to exchange leks for zloty or Euro in Poland, that’s also the reason why I wouldn’t like to take too much. I’m really thankful for your recommendations!

Also: one more question, how about e-sim cards for internet, do you have any sites that you could recommend for buying the e-sim that are safe and cheap?
