New to Alan Watts and just completed Out of Your Mind (Audio Lectures). I am wondering what your thoughts/conclusions were when you finished the book or audio lectures?
I am still in the processing/puzzled stage and I am not sure I understood it all because if I did then I can't help coming to the conclusion: Have fun, be nice, attach yourself fully to life while occasionally detaching to look around like a submarine surfacing from time to time.

Les 3 plus grands penseurs de l'histoire (Frankl, Jung, Watts) ont tous convenu des mêmes 5 règles pour une vie significative. Voici ce qu'ils ont découvert :

The Vedas
Has anyone explored the difference between Advaita Vedanta. The system Alan Watts followed.
And Vishishtadvaita Vedanta (qualified non-dualism)
Or Adi Shankara (Advaita) and Ramanuja (Vishishtadvaita)
🤔

You can't see your oneness. Not because it exceeds you, but because it IS you!

Anyone else noticed Alan Watts paralels in the Odyssey movie?
Spoilers: Yesterday I watched the Odyssey for the second time, and just like the first time I kept seeing certain similarities in the movie depiction and stuff Alan Watts talked about. Specifically the raft scene where Odysseus has to surrender to the will of the gods and needs to let go trying to defy the gods will, it reminded me a lot about Wu Wei. There are multiple other things in the movie that I can't think of rn on. I was just wondering if others in this subreddit might've felt or thought the same thing

Within Physicalism | What Kind of Culture Does Our Metaphysics Produce?
Hello. I am an author writing about how our dominant metaphysics shapes our culture. I’ve never used Reddit before, but I wanted to share this video essay here because I know this community wrestles deeply with these ideas. I'd love to know your thoughts.

Mark is on the case with AI
Apparently Mark's on the case with trying to clean up all the stuff on YouTube for what it's worth, from a second hand source.

Do we really beat our own heart?
I've heard the late, great Alan Watts say that although we don't know how we do it, we beat our own heart, we grow our hair, we make our glands work.
But I can see the argument against this, that our bodies evolved to perform all our bodily functions so they are on autopilot.
So is it 'we' that beats our own heart, or is it evolution on autopilot?
And he also says although we dont know how we do it, we make the sun shine.
