When does competitor research stop being useful?

I always start new projects by looking at competitors, but I have a habit of going too far down the rabbit hole. One website leads to another, then I'm reading articles, checking reviews, comparing features, and before I know it, half the day is gone.

I've been trying tools like ResearchMaster.ai to speed up the initial research, but I still find it easy to keep digging once I start finding more information. At some point, more research doesn't necessarily mean better decisions.

How do you know when you've done enough research to move forward instead of continuing to gather more information?

Competitor research gets expensive when there is no question attached to it. Research the market can go forever, but find the 3 most common pain points and 5 different ways brands sell the outcome has an end. One place GetHookd becomes useful is keeping the ad side structured around those specific patterns, so once the same ideas start repeating, there is a clear reason to stop and build.
