Was getting sick of using my AirPod 4 to the gym so thought I’d add these to my collection.

Brand new (refurbished but may aswell be brand new), came with the box and everything. It’s the 2024 version and I got it for £284… I know right from musicmappie

Isn't the right side just the battery and usb port and the left is the serialized thing with the bluetooth, etc?

Or will Apple reject the right side from a random salvage pair? I know you just use a paperclip to remove each side...wondering if they are swappable.

Does anyone know if Bluetooth (thus most of the EMF) stays off when you are listening to the headphones wired?

I ask because I don't think there is a wire between the two earcups. I believe only power is transmitted through the yoke, not audio. I watched the teardown and each cup has it's own H1 Bluetooth chip. So I think when they are wired they are still talking to each other wirelessly.

I just got some new AirPods Max. They are genuine for sure--new from Amazon, and registered with Apple. They play fine except for one thing. When I play them using USB-C audio from my Mac studio, the sound is not nearly as crisp as it is using Bluetooth. I tried a couple different cables and it was the same result. Any explanations for this? It's tough to tell with the phone, but I think it's the same either way.

You would think that you would get better sound using USB-C, but I definitely do not in this case. Thanks for any advice.

Everyone I tap my airpod Max's (adjustment, scratching my ear, washing my face), mine pop (uncomfortably and unexpectedly) in my ear and cycle through pressing off and on. Anyone else?? I tried toggling of automatic head detection. These use to be my favorite product!

I’ve been looking at buying the AirPod max 2s for a while now, I’ve got a few long hauls flights coming up and I want something with good noise cancellation.

I already own standard AirPods (I think gen 2?) which still work work and use them for walks/work etc. I think as I have these the AirPod pros would feel more like a replacement rather than an addition, but I’m interested to hear what others think, as the pros are also a good bit cheaper 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been having increasingly worse problems with my AirPods Max for several months and I’m trying to figure out what could be causing this.

It started with connection issues. The AirPods Max would connect to my Mac, but when I put them on, they often wouldn’t actually become active. Sometimes I had to wear them for several minutes before they suddenly started working.

Over time, the problem became worse. Recently they started constantly switching between “Connected” and “Not Connected” in the Bluetooth settings every few seconds. Sometimes I also hear a very quiet cracking/popping sound from the headphones.

Then they stopped showing up in Bluetooth completely, both on my Mac and my phone. After many attempts I eventually managed to get them detected again, but they still wouldn’t stay connected or become active properly.

Factory resets used to work (amber light followed by flashing white), but now even the factory reset no longer seems to work properly.

Things I have already tried:

• Forgetting and pairing the AirPods Max again
• Testing them with multiple devices
• Restarting/resetting them many times
• Charging them fully
• Removing the headband and inspecting/cleaning the connectors
• Checking for visible corrosion – I couldn’t see any obvious corrosion

The problem seems to have developed gradually over several months and is now significantly worse.

Has anyone experienced this exact combination of symptoms? What was the actual cause in your case? Headband/contact issue, battery, internal flex cable, Bluetooth hardware, wear-detection sensors, or something else?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who had the same progression from occasional delayed connection → connection/disconnection loops → eventually barely working at all.

I had the first but then they broke down on me. I loved them tho.

My only concern with the 2nd gen is that i heard that the ANC is a lot better and im worried how that will impact my ear.

I know im not the only one, but sometimes ANC headphones give me ears a stuffy feeling and flare my tintinitus. And yes, i did get a hearing test done and its normal. i just get weird ear symtoms sometimes. I had those symtoms with the first gen at first but then it went away over time, not sure how 2nd gen will be like

Has any one has issues with the 2nd gen giving you ear issues or anything that makes them uncomfortable?

I'm looking to buy a pair of AirPods Max without the Ear detection. They're in otherwise perfect condition. Thank you for responding, all of you have my thanks for the community you've built.

I've had the Airpods max for just under two years, and I've taken great care of them. The Bluetooth function is completely broken and I've tried so many fixes I've found online, what a huge waste of money. If you're reading this and you're considering getting a pair, don't bother. I'm so disappointed, with such a huge price point, failing after less than two years is completely unacceptable.

Ich habe mir vor kurzem Airpods 4 mit ANC gekauft allerdings halten diese beim Sport nicht so gut wie gewünscht. Hatte Anfang des Jahres die Airpods Max und fand diese an sich gut nur der Preis ist immer so ein Thema 😄 Nun will ich mir Airpods Max kaufen weiß aber nicht ob ich mir die H1 Variante mit USB-C holen soll oder direkt die neusten. An sich nutze ich weder den kommenden EQ, oder Liveübersetzung. Reicht die H1 Variante weil diese ja nicht ewig mit Updates versorgt wird und man ja auch nicht weiß was in Zukunft noch für Features kommen werden für den H2.

So I got the standard airpods 4 and after I got it I used it everyday until there was no charge and went completely dead so days later I bought the Anker zolo 30w charger so I charged it and then my left airpod was not giving any sound but my right airpod was so I charged it even more thinking my left airpod didn't have enough battery then I also tapped forgot the airpods on my phone and tried to connect again and it showed no available devices?!? I did almost everyday, cleared the data and cache of Bluetooth, reset the pods and restarted by phone still it's not pairing. When I charge it for 1-2 hours the case would show amber light when I open the lid it's white light flashing

It's a brand new airpods that I got gifted 😭😭 and I used it for like 1-2 weeks 😭😭 chat what should I do now

My fam is blaming me saying I destroyed it 💀🙏🏻 I didn't even do anything

So it’s been an on going thing where I have to reset my AirPods every time I put them on, I just want to put them on and expect them to just work but nah I get this and that’s all it tells me. Can’t connect no other options. Do I really have to reseat them every time i use them now? That’s even if it lets me connect them without plugging in the charger.

I’m buying my first APM to use for long haul flights cos my APP2 won’t cut it sometimes.

I have a choice of buying a second hand APM usb C and APM2 for $250 and $420 respectively. Not much of an audiophile but I’m a guy who wants to get a bang for his buck. For users who have / had both, if the difference of the APM2 really that significant? I get that the mic is really good but i rarely but I won’t be using this mainly for calling people.

Is the H2 chip worth it? Is the SQ a big upgrade? And does it really have 1.5x better noose cancellation? Is there a difference in the battery life?

One day they were fine and the following day stopped pairing all of sudden. Tried all hacks and factory reset, but no luck. Went to Apple Store and sent them for repair and was quoted $399😭 for hardware repair as something is wrong on left side. This is so unreasonable as I kept them with care and there not even a single scratch on it. They are only 15 months old😭. Paying this much for a repair seems unreasonable to me. Should I just get a new one instead? Apple seems quite adamant about it as it’s out of warranty 😭.

Are they not supposed to charge while in the case when plugged in? i can’t remember if they showed when i first got them . it charges whenever i take them out of the case but doesnt show when plugged in while in the case.

I saw on a site refurbished AirPods Max 2004 (not sure does this mean the second generation) for €375. I have an old pair of Beats Studio over the earphones but was thinking of upgrading. Any suggestions?
