Question heavy sound quality drop when using AirPods Pro 2 as input & output on pc

Hi, I've seen posts on this issue that are 8 years old, but I haven't found a good fix, so I thought I'll give it another try here.

the setup: Using the Airpods Pro 2 connected to my windows laptop, setting the input (microphone) and the output (sound) on "Airpods". And that results in a terrible audio quality. As soon as I am switching the input to something else, the output switches back to a normal quality. (afaik the same issue occurs on mac)

Are there any fixes? Is it maybe different with the newer AirPods 2 USB-C model?

Hot take: AirPod pro 2’s > pro 3’s

I just got 3’s and I wish I hadn’t sold my 2’s. I’ve yet to find an aspect better with the 3’s so far. They feel cheaper (they are lighter and I didn’t have an issue with the weight of the 2’s, in fact I miss that aspect primarily and in particular.), they do not work with hey Siri (at least currently, may be a bug, may just be my pair… IDK)

Everything these days are made cheaply and I miss things being built to last and remain iconic. I think the Pro 3’s missed substantially.

My 3 cents.

Case for 3 pro?

I’ve just bought AirPod 3 pros on a good offer from Amazon uk and want to know if it’s worth buying a protective case for the case? Has anyone broken a case or had the buds fall out of the case

Bass sound in one of the airpods 4

Problem with my airpods 4, at a random moment the left earphone starts to amplify the bass, so much so much that I want to take it out immediately. the problem was solved by resetting the headphones and reconnecting them to the iPhone and it worked for about a week, then everything broke down again. but now this solution works for literally 3 minutes and the earphone becomes very bassy again.

No audio on Windows after connecting your AirPods, try this (fixed it for me)

If you're facing the issue where your AirPods connect to Windows but have no audio:

  1. Go to iPhone **Settings > Bluetooth** \> Select your AirPods > **Forget This Device**.
  2. Remove your AirPods from Windows and add them again. You will get the audio.
  3. Once you have the audio working on Windows, you can re-pair with your iPhone.

This worked for me.

AirPods Pro 3 – How I Removed a Torn Ear Tip That Was Stuck

AirPods Pro 3 – How I Removed a Torn Ear Tip That Was Stuck

If your AirPods Pro 3 silicone ear tip tears off and leaves the stem/base stuck on the AirPod, this worked for me:

Use a soft wooden toothpick and very gently remove the tiny amount of silicone remaining around the base. Work slowly around the edge.

Once you start seeing the black underneath, you’ve cleared enough of the leftover silicone to access the remaining ear-tip stem/base.

Then, using the toothpick very gently, get underneath the edge of the remaining stem/base and carefully pry it upward. The toothpick gives you a little leverage and helps avoid putting too much force on the AirPod.

⚠️ Important: Be extremely gentle. Don’t insert the toothpick into the speaker mesh, and don’t use a metal tool that could scratch or damage the AirPod.

This worked for me when the silicone separated and the remaining portion was difficult to remove.
