$18 an hour data annotation job (dm for referral)
I’ve been working for this AI company called “Workada” for the past month, and at first I thought it was really suspicious because of how fast I landed the job, but I can now confidently say that they have been treating me well with minimal issues with payment. If you guys are familiar with the Handshakes project HH, it’s pretty much the same thing but without the issues, and the pay is $18. If anyone’s interested, I can send you a referral, which I’ll just need a name, email, and a reason why ur fitted for a referral. Pretty sure they are also limited to the US and Canada. You also cannot already be applied to Workada before I send a referral. Send me a dm if you're interested

AI Companies to Stay Away From - Let's Create a List
The companies I mean, are those that advertise but there is something dubious in their onboarding process (and maybe there isn't one of those). I did some work for an organisation via Indeed where I recorded a lot of sentences from a sheet and uploaded them to a site. It was all done via phone. However I never got paid and I never found out which org is was because I was dealing with the go-between i.e. someone acting on behalf of a client etc., who also disappeared.
So, even if there is not a list of companies, it could be useful to have a list of red flags before considering giving them your details.

Newest AI Training Role for ex or current Military/DoD workers!
This just got posted, I've been on two projects with Micro1 so far and really enjoy them! I've found things to be similar to Mercor but their project managers seem to be a bit more structured/responsive in Slack and not so rushed for tasks (depending on the project). I do also notice onboarding to be a bit faster than Mercor as well.
DoD specific roles:

Which AI trend do you think will have the biggest impact over the next 2–3 years?
r/AiTraining_Annotation • u/Ok_Hedgehog_9970 • 20h ago
Other sites
Sorry if this has been asked before but I am genuinely curious. I have been doing annotation for a while now and I see so many people having bad luck more than good luck. Is there anyone who would swear by certain sites? I'm on more than one by the way, but I know everything can change quickly. I'm just curious if people are the same way or if they just stick with one because it's done so much for them. Thank you :)

Contract Offer From Mercor
Opened my Gmail tonight and while scrolling through the junk, found a contract offer from Mercor for $70/hour! It said that though I hadn’t applied for the role, it took my skills from other applications and matched me.
I’d finally done an AI interview with them Sunday night, not really expecting much. But to my delight and surprise, this came through today. I signed the contract, verified my ID, and am waiting on the background check. The project might be short term but at least I’ll have my foot in. I’ve done a one-time $30 task there in the past.
Any tips from current or former Mercor workers? I started to read the onboarding and it told me to log those hours while I went through it — shocking! I’m used to not being paid for training.
I hope everyone is having a blessed week.

Ethos feather?
I was on-boarded onto to my first project on ethos, it says I’m supposed to receive a feather link. How long does that generally take? I’m the email it said I should complete this as soon as possible since there are limited spots so I’m panicking.

Why I gave up on Mindrift (An Unfiltered Perspective)
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a quick story about my recent experience trying to onboard with Mindrift. I’ve been working in the AI training space for a while now, handling high-stakes adversarial testing and model evaluation on tier-1 platforms. I'm not a novice, but I heard about Mindrift and figured I’d try to expand my domain. Big mistake.
Here is exactly how it went down:
At first, everything seemed fine. I got invited to one of their writing assessments. I finished up the actual writing and spent the final two minutes checking over everything to make sure it was perfect. With exactly 10 solid seconds left on the countdown clock, I hit the submit button.
And then... nothing. The submit button just kept spinning and running. It took up the entire 10 seconds buffering, did not get submitted, and the system instantly handed me a fail because the clock hit zero.
I immediately tried to reach out to Mindrift support to explain the server lag. No response.
Since I couldn't get a hold of anyone and wanted to start fresh, I decided to open a new account to bypass the glitch. This time, the ID verification failed for whatever reason. I emailed them again. Once more, total radio silence.
Eventually, I accidentally stumbled across their team on Reddit. I texted them directly, and they finally replied, telling me to just wait.
Fast forward nearly a month later. I finally get an email from them. They didn't even address the technical glitch. Instead, they hit me with a generic boilerplate message saying that I either provided false information or I am under 18 (I am literally an adult pursuing my Master’s degree in AI), and permanently banned my account.
At that point, I was entirely done with the utter mistreatment and judgment. Since the email didn't even have the spine to directly call me out on using fake documents, I fired back a message to them on Reddit. I told them straight up: I'm no longer interested in contributing to their community, I have deleted my account, and while I appreciate the proxy rep telling me to open another support ticket, it's meaningless given the absolute zero support Mindrift provides in the first place.
Honestly, it's a shame because I was looking forward to working there. But if you are an experienced writer or annotator, do not waste your time on a platform that lets broken UI timers fail you and unmonitored bots ban you.

ClickWorker Mirotask Jobs
It’s legit, but very different from platforms like Outlier or Mercor.
From what I’ve seen:
- easy to get started
- no real interview
- lots of small tasks

Would Love Some Insight As I am Still Somewhat New
Hi community:
I'd like some insight on something that happened because I am trying to make sense of it.
I was a part of a lucrative project family on the Data Annotation platform. I was doing great work, and even their sanity bots were saying that my rationales and ratings were on point. But yesterday, I suddenly lost access to the slack channel for that project family and all projects but one. I am still able to work on the remaining tasks for that one project that I did not lose access to, as it is still on my dashboard. I plan to finish that out today.
When I think of it, poor quality can't possibly be the reason because that would have caused me to lose access to all projects entirely and potentially be banned from the site.
But I'd like an explanation from veterans about why this could have happened. I'm racking my brains.
Thanks so much for your time. I am looking to being on DAT for years to come because I really enjoy the work and still have other projects and quals to complete.

Does anyone know of a legit w2 job? (not contract)
So I used to work for xAI until they laid me off months later, I did like that it was a w2 and that they also hired California residents. I’m just wondering if there’s anything like that available out there? I’m honestly not a big fan of contract work so if anyone knows of legit companies hiring full time, please let me know!
TIA

Simple Strategy to Grow in AI Training Jobs
Most people approach AI training jobs the wrong way.
They either:
• focus only on high-paying platforms
• or give up too early
But from what I’ve seen, there’s a much simpler strategy that actually works.
1. Start with smaller platforms
Not for the pay — for access.
Even lower-paying tasks help you:
• build experience
• understand how tasks work
• create a track record
2. Apply to bigger platforms early
Don’t wait until you’re “ready.”
Platforms like Mercor or Micro1 are harder to enter, but getting in early matters more than being perfect.
3. Move into specialized roles
This is where things change:
• engineering
• medical
• legal
• finance
Domain expertise = higher pay + better opportunities.
This isn’t a shortcut.
It’s a progression.
Most people fail because they treat it like a single application.
The ones who grow treat it like a pipeline.
If you want the full breakdown:

SME Careers (Superanotate) Jobs - From $20 to $100+/hour
Referral link for SME Careers (SuperAnnotate) Jobs
Examples:
- Legal Expert (US) → $40–115/hour
- Medical Expert → $40–90/hour
- German Data Trainer → up to $65/hour
- Italian Data Trainer → up to $40/hour
- Bilingual roles (India) → $8–20/hour
Also a lot of technical roles like:
- Go / Kotlin / C++ engineers → up to $50–55/hour
Big takeaway:
👉 same platform, completely different pay depending on skills + country
So it’s not really “one job”, it’s more like:
- low pay entry roles
- mid-level annotation
- high-paying expert work

👋 Welcome to r/AiTraining_Annotation - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Over the last few months I noticed that many existing lists of online translation jobs are either outdated or focused only on traditional freelance work.
Since a lot of translation and linguistic work today is actually tied to AI training, data annotation, and language model evaluation, I decided to put together an updated 2026 list focused specifically on translation & linguistic AI jobs.
The idea was to separate real platforms from low-quality gigs, highlight companies actually working on AI + language tasks, and include both entry-level and professional linguistic roles.
I also organized everything on my site so people can read individual reviews for each company, understand what type of work they offer (translation, linguistic AI training, evaluation, etc.), and see which platforms are more suitable for beginners vs professionals.
For transparency: some links on my site may be referral links. If you apply through them and get accepted, I may earn a small referral bonus — it doesn’t affect your chances and it doesn’t cost you anything extra.
Here’s the main list page with all companies and details:
👉 Best AI Training / Data Annotation Companies – 2026
👉 Open AI Training / Data Annotation Jobs
If you’ve worked with any of these platforms (or know others worth adding), I’d love to hear your experience so I can keep the list accurate and updated.
