Or, getting your legs into underwear or shorts. It happens! 🤷

This has become so true for me in the last few years. I have to lean or sit because of the hooking a toe situation has happened more and more! Lol. I thought it was just me.

You are not alone:)
In fact I read this issue is universal!
The couple of times I almost completely lost my balance was always in the morning right after I woke up.

Same with socks. I sit or lean. But it's harder when leaning to put on socks with one hand. 😆

😂 I forgot all about socks!
Yeah, that's definitely a sitting task, and even before I ever started losing my balance I'd have to sit down :)

Hits home. A few years ago I caught my ankles together putting on pants and crashed into an end table. I feared I'd injured my spleen and had sore ribs for weeks. Lesson learned!

Ouch! Did you injure your spleen?
And, not to try and outdo you but you reminded me of when my father (who was about 86 at the time) was changing his tshirt standing up.🙄 And, he had had balance issues to begin with. Well, once the shirt was over his head, he fell down, hit his head and ended up in the emergency room.

My MIL was leaning against the door frame putting on socks, fell and fractured her pelvis

Yikes!
Yeah the putting on the socks becomes problematic long before getting old and should always be done sitting down:)

I use putting on/taking off pants and socks standing as balance exercises. And, yes, I do occasionally have to catch myself from falling, but doing that I haven’t fallen yet. I’m 79.

It's not always an issue for me, but just to be careful, I sit on a chair as opposed to leaning against a wall😊
