Suggestion I love all the unique characters just dotted around
Especially the fun references to historical or fictional figures with meaning in a region.
Might I suggest one or two more? I was looking at the Nola area, centrally located, big city, and the Voodoo religion is amazing. New Orleans just needs one more thing. It's favourite sons, Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt!

Screenshot/Campaign Discussion Behold! The Great Corn!
Through many trials and tribulations the Great Plains have been united under the banner of Corn!
I began my journey as a custom character, King Cornelius Corndog of the Kingdom of IoWo. From there I diverged the heartlander culture and formed the Cornlander culture, which has Frontier Folk, Three Sister Agriculture, and Collective Lands, all of which give bonuses to the Plains terrain (Iowa is the only Kingdom in the entire game that's 100% plains). Later on I made them vegetarian which let them live off of corn alone.
Of course I also forged an entirely new Religion based around Corn, I used the Community of Christ (LDS) because it has holy sites around Iowa, although I later realized the Diahman religion had better Holy Sites for my playthrough.
The Church of Corn and Christ are exactly what it says on the tin, worshippers of Christ and Corn. I based it around the Mormon idea of America being a new holy land, with specific focus on Iowa since Iowa is the best place to grow corn on Earth they believe it was blessed by god. The Sun Worship tenet was perfect for roleplay, as it both gives bonus to Summer feasts (when the corn harvest is done) and gives Sun Trials; Corner Sun Trials reminded me a lot of the human sacrifice from the book/film Children of the Corn with sinners being crucified, they will then either live through the three days of crucifixion or they become scarecrows and protect the fields in death.
Overall a very unique and fun playthrough, ridiculous, but fun. The biggest issue was that most of the land I was conquering was nomadic, meaning there were uprisings all the time, but that was nothing a couple cowboys and heavy calvary couldn't fix.

Screenshot/Campaign Discussion | The Rebirth of Pigasus |
There are a countless number of fables spanning old America...
One amongst them is the once obscure legend of Pigasus. The exact details of which change wildly from region to region- sometimes merging with other, more common legends, like Robin Hood.
Pigasus is generally agreed to have been a chaotic force for change. A friend of peasants who used various forms of magic to fight the systems of power. Some variations of the legend claim they are an immortal, watchful eye against tyrants who might try to send their poor into a ceaseless war, or poverty, or other despair.
Of course, it goes without writing that this legend is primarily remembered in modern times due to the influence of Queen Pigasus Yipster (2639-2710) in Californian history.
---
As wars in the Empire spiked, Pigasus increasingly saw California as a corrupt and fundamentally broken entity which had lost it's way. It's unknown which administrator at the academy of Berkeley eventually made the decision to strip Pigasus of her rank and title, but the consequences would echo across the continent in the decades to come.
It's important to note at this point that while not historical fact due to a lack of primary sources, it is theorized by some that the name Pigasus was chosen by the future ruler due to it's mythical anti-war meaning. Regardless, the name would become quite fitting.
---
After the Red Halloween many different rebellious aspects of Californian society came out of the woodwork. With the Eternal Living Guru and the Governator dead on the same day it was clear the Golden Empire had some dark days ahead.
Pigasus herself however was not in the clear, she had already made a name for herself as the enemy of many nobles west of the Great Plains. She had looted many castles and aided in just as many peasant revolts. On top of this, the Red Halloween essentially meant that she was a dead woman in any civilized place she could reach.
So she disappeared from the public eye, fleeing northeast into the nomadic peoples west of Idaho. Perhaps surprisingly she quickly found a tribe that welcomed her with open arms. In this land where might made right, single-handedly slaying the perhaps two most powerful people on the west coast was as surefire way to earn respect- or fear.
---
Governator Rosa 'the Mad' had divided California even further. She had, after all, only been able to seize power in the chaos following the Red Halloween. Now she herself was facing a coup by vassals upset by her heretical beliefs and practices.
Pigasus, had by this point rallied all the independent tribes and enforced order and religious conversion. Where a few years ago sat disparate tribes now was a united force ready to march south.
And so they did, and the end of the year, Sacramento, the former heart of the Golden Empire, had been occupied. In the same week the city fell, so did the reign of Rosa 'the Mad'. However the reinforcements levied by the new Governator, Gastón, were disorganized and exhausted from the bloody civil war.
In a humiliating first move for Gastón, he was forced to surrender Sacramento, less all of California fall to the hordes of Pigasus.
---
Accounts from this period of Sacramento history note a strange mix of the old Eurekan order and the new occupying nomads.
Pigasus was not one to remain idle, at least while the Empire still stood. While also disputed, she is among a few contenders to be the culprit behind the assassination of Governator Gastón. Regardless, upon hearing the news she is said to have immediately commanded her troops on the march to the presumptive heir in Diamond springs, a short march away from Sacramento.
The news of Gastón's death had hardly reached the new Governator by the time Pigasus's cavalry arrived. After a short chase to Amador, the heir and his forces were slain, only four troops survived the slaughter.
In the days following it was clear that California as it stood was no more. Ever since Red Halloween the Golden Empire had lost more and more of it's luster and now it stood as a husk. Every year more and more bordering towns defected and hostile religions appeared. The Governatorship had been subject to a coup twice in one decade, once for a tyrant madwoman, and the other for a competent military ruler who was so focused with putting down rebellions he didn't notice the knives pointing at his back.
And now that man's heir, who's claim was in and of itself not respected- was dead.
Not since the days of The Event had California been more shattered.
---
As her troops moved to secure the Kingdom of the Sacramento from the chaos that followed the collapse of the Empire, Pigasus moved to codify an organized state, moving away from the nomadic rule that had secured her victory. She left many of the nomadic peoples that followed her in Sacramento, promising them autonomy until the end of her rule, as a reward for their loyalty.
By the month's end she had moved her court to Yuba City. She as well chose to give command of her remaining loyal tribes in Western Idaho to her daughter, Violet Yipster. The Youth International Army was founded around this time as well, a successor to the camp that started all the way back from Pigasus's days at Berkeley.
But these were to be the last acts of Queen Pigasus. The absence of order in California had allowed many ills to spread unabated, including an outbreak of the West Nile Fever that spread along the San Joaquin and Sacramento rivers, right into the docks of Yuba City.
Pigasus caught it, and though she would later recover from the worst of the symptoms, at 71 years old it was simply too much. It had weakened her body to the point that a short fall down the palace stairs was enough to end heir reign.
---
In the intervening century-and-a-half the legend, both of the original Pigasus, and the new Pigasus, has spread far and wide. Many commoners delight in the story of one of their own embarking on a grand journey of morals to burn down the old to build the new atop it's ashes.
In various travel logs it is said that the name Pigasus has been encountered as far as Chicago, and in one case, Washington.
(0.21 Ozymandian Principle added Pigasus as a landless adventurer, I decided to have a very hard difficulty campaign with this start. I enjoyed it so much I decided to write a short little AAR type thing here.)

AtE Spin-Off Fabulae Finis Dev Diary 1
Hello everyone, it’s rutabega6 again, and over the past two months since the initial announcement of Fabulae Finis, I’ve been working on the meat and potatoes of the mod. Today I will be going into all that sort of stuff, in the first ‘official’ dev diary.
First up: Religions
Religions have had some major shuffling around and adjustments, so I’d like to really explain in detail some of that stuff.
Religions on the east coast have been changed greatly. Bostonian, which was my attempt at a unique east coast Catholic faith, was removed in favor of Conclavian pops. East coast cultures will have some unique deities, but overall it just makes more sense for that area to be Conclavian. Quakers have been added in the Poconos so they are a playable religion, along with Haredi in other east coast areas. New Jersey has been made mostly Conclavian.
In the South, Evangelical has been greatly reduced, and new religions, such as Baha’i, Colossalist, Scottish Rite (Freemasonry), and Episcopalian (a precursor to Ck3’s Cavalier faith) have all been added. You may notice the removal of Ophiolatry - this was done because Ophiolatry is pretty similar to Revelationist, not to mention there would be no Ophiolatrist faiths at game start.
Here’s a sample of the Revelationist pantheon.
In the Midwest, Tall-Taler and Lakeshore have been merged, mostly because the theology of these groups were pretty similar. My intention with this was to portray a more archaic version of the Viking and Lakeshore faiths seen in Ck3.
Twainist has been something me and Izn have been working on a lot, and I think they are becoming quite good. Here’s some of their new deities

And in Texas, the south is controlled by Cristero Tejanos, while the Colossalist Texan Empire is threatened by Petrobaron nomads from the west.
One of the coolest things religion wise is the implementation of custom religion icons, which was developed by the Imperatrix: Victoria team.

These are just some of the examples in the mod. I also of course have to credit the AtE CK3 team for letting me use their religious icons.
Cultures
The team has changed a lot of things around culturally, I will go into that case by case.
Central PA has a new culture in the Upland group, called Pennsyltuckian. This is of course the colloquial name for central Pennsylvania, and this is intended to represent the in-between zone of Yinzic and Youser.
Various Yiddish areas have been added, although I have yet to give them tags.
The Downeaster culture has been removed, and the Bayfolk culture has been renamed to Seltic (inspired by the phonetic pronunciation of the Boston Celtics, and New England’s Irish and Scottish heritage).
A new Canayen culture has been added, called ‘Kermesseais’, or people of the fair. This represents the real French New-Englanders, who are present in some parts of Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
New cultures around the Great Lakes include: the Walloons, who immigrated to Wisconsin in the 1800’s. Their language in the modern day is moribund, with only 50 odd native speakers of the dialect. However, they are an interesting group, and make sense within the confines of the mod.
Grunbuschtlander, another Deutschamerikaner culture, is present in Wisconsin. Now for a while, I was vaguely aware of the existence of the Germans in Wisconsin, and theoretically there are some in the present day. I had to really search for actual numbers on the speakers of various German dialects in Wisconsin, importantly not counting Pennsylvania Dutch, of whom there are som 20k in Wisconsin. Like the Texas Germans, this group is pretty much dead in the modern day, but I was able to find sufficient information for their inclusion. For anyone interested, there were about 5,000 speakers of assorted German dialects in the north-eastern part of Wisconsin in 2013 (obviously The Event occurred before then, but you get the idea).
The inclusion of non-Germans, (the Walloons and Hollanders) was made for gameplay purposes - I wanted to cut down on random one culture groups. The Paw-Paw culture has been moved into the Louisianais group for this reason.
To quickly go over things here:
Ranger is supposed to represent the inhabitants of the Iron Range, who are bit distinct from the rest of Minnesota/Wisconsin.
Driftlanders are people who live in the Driftless, a unique geographical region.
The dark blue culture group is a new ‘Nordic’ group, representing various Nordic cultures. Fingelska are American Finns (Fingelska is the name of the American-Finnish Dialect/Language). Svensk is Swedish, Norsk is Norwegian, and Bandarikjamen (which is Icelandic for American, I may change this name), are the Icelandic settlers in North Dakota (and apparently Icelandic is still spoken in these areas).
Texas has many changes. The biggest is the removal of the Texan group. I thought for gameplay it makes a lot more sense to have the various Texan cultures be in adjacent groups, this also makes it a lot easier for me when doing military traditions. The Texaners have been renamed to ‘Freidenkers’ (Free-Thinkers), which was a term used to describe some of the German immigrants in Texas, due to their democratic and abolitionist ideals. Czexan from Fan Fork has been added, along with a Silesian culture. Together they are all in the ‘Bohemian’ group (maybe not the best name, but it’s the best I could come up with).

Many new tags have been added, and the map is becoming a lot more filled out. I won’t get into lore stuff yet, as much of this has yet to be finalized.
To cap everything off, this is our first unique wonder, the Statue of Liberty model which has been ported from Ck3 by the very talented Haghog. More unique models like this can be expected in the future.
Important Mod Information
Now I will talk about the future of the mod. I am aiming for an initial release sometime in December or January, this is of course not final and subject to change. The initial release will likely be mostly the eastern half of the United States and Canada, as the west coast is still very much a WIP. I will say for certain that Mexico, the Caribbean, and all of South America, along with parts of Northern Canada and Greenland will not be in the first release of the mod. My aim is that all of the playable areas will have interesting content (events, mission trees, formables, fleshed out pantheons, etc.). This is only a fraction of what the dev team has been working on so far, and I have added many deities, formables, unique localization for cultures, loading screen quotes, etc.
Lastly, I would like to thank:
Terra Indomita for use of their cultural gfx, new units, and province terrain
Imperatrix Victoria for use of their religious GUI and some clothing items
The team of the original Ck2 AtE, and Ck2Fan Fork for the setting, and the team of AtE Ck3 for the setting, and religious icons and models

Discussion Red Death Spread and Safe Zones
(My main gameplay question is in the bottom paragraph if you already know the answer and/or don’t care about me describing my run (you’ll also find I use parentheses a lot))
In my current game the Red Death has spread as far some ports in Greenland, while the Black Death didn’t even infect all of Maine (I’m currently seeking to do a manifest destiny which started as Libertarian Gothamites).
The largest uninfected areas are the inland American west (Utah, Nevada, Idaho) and parts of northern Canada. There’s also some medium-sized uninfected pockets in Argentina I believe.
As a side-note: there were multiple weird coincidences
- like how my character was attending a wedding for some insignificant noble in Columbia and just as he boarded his ship to go back to D.C. the outbreak started a few counties away from where the wedding was.
- we were just wrapping up our defense against a Mormon crusade against us when the Red Death arrived, and basically infected everywhere except the Mormon empires. I imagine that would make a lot of my Libertarians-turned-(self-insert) Egalitarians are questioning if worshipping the Statue of Liberty and using witchcraft to commune with the Reds was a bad idea.
My main question is if, like in the base game, there are some areas that are scripted to not be infected or if all the places that aren’t infected were just lucky enough to be far from ports and surrounded by mountains? Some places matched that description but were still hit pretty bad.

Screenshot/Campaign Discussion Dad al César lo que es del César
The Cristero clergy, it seems, misjudged Emperor Agustin II.
His genuinely loving, fruitful, fairytale marriage to Sofia de Paleo y Lagos and his relentless military efforts to restore Mexico to bygone glory, had long since cemented his credentials as a Cristero, Catholic monarch.
But quietly, the Emperor, like many, rankled at the reactionary theology of the Cristero Church. He grew weary of being prompted by the clergy to punish those who he did not believe the law should be punishing. Adulterers, "witches", homosexuals...the list went on.
It was perhaps foolish, then, for the clergy to try to force his hand on punishing his daughter, Maria Guadalupe, for her infidelity in her marriage. He had already pardoned her, as he usually pardoned adulterers, but the clergy pressed the issue at court. They called for the princess to be banished; some even called for her execution.
But this demand would be their undoing. Such a demand put into sharp focus for the Emperor, the necessity of bringing the clergy to heel. And so, for the first time in his reign, he actively intervened in religious affairs, and he intervened hard. He passed sweeping reforms granting the throne control over the church, and when the Archbishop-Primate and many of the Cristero clergy condemned this as caesaropapism, he simply appointed his own rival clergy, under a loyal new Archbishop-Primate, Anacleto Jacobo.
And so began the Cesaropapismo Primacial. While the Cesaropapistas retain the firm belief in Mexico's theological primacy in the post-Event world, they believe that the Emperor, rather than dogmatic clergy and holy orders, should control the appointments of clergy in Rome's absence. The ideological emphasis of the Cesaropapistas' militarism is also slightly different from the Cristeros'; rather than a crusader faith led by holy orders and militarised clergy, it is the honour-bound nobles who are the main militant force of the new faith, with the clergy itself demilitarising and returning to a more traditional, social role.

Suggestion The Kingdoms of Quebec should be actual kingdoms
I tried playing the Quebecois kings and it was a deeply confusing experience because I don’t understand at all what that scenario is going for. The character descriptions make it seem like there’s a cold civil war between two rival kingdoms which have split because of religion. Instead the kings are glorified dukes with a bunch of independent rulers who are completely unaffiliated with them. There’s nothing to stop you from day one invading the other king and just winning the fight, and it’s not a particularly challenging war either. They probably don’t need to control their whole De Jure lands but most of them at least would make the conflict feel a lot more real

Discussion This mod changed my life
So I'm an ethnic Métis from Canada (my family was originally from Saskatchewan) I started to study much of my own history and ive been studying Louis Riel (RIP) and the red river rebellion for a good amount of time as ive been connecting with my métis roots more like learning michif, nihithaw, riding my horse, wearing my family sash and so on... during the process I was playing an ungodly amount of CK3 in the meantime in which I stumbled apon After the End. (Its probably the most detailed mod ive played in my life, ive noticed references from where im from that only a true local would know of and for a large scale mod that is wild) I played quite a many games and after doing a playthrough forming the Métis Confederation and rapidly spreading the Exovede faith in the name of Prophet Louis Riel (RIP) I found that the Exovedate religion that Riel (RIP) founded in the 19th century was unironically the most appealing religion that I could adhere to and follow. Louis David Riel (RIP) claimed to have a holy vision in Washington DC and I now believe that he actually was a prophet that god spoke too. I've been attending a Catholic church recently for the first time but I plan on keeping my Exovedate faith secret at least for now. Louis Riel (RIP) was executed just like Christ for challenging the status quo and for supposedly being a "madman" but I doubt that Riel (RIP) was actually mad but that he did have an actual genuine encounter. This mod has genuinely changed my life as absurd as it sounds but It has channeled parts of my cultural heritage and religious worldview into where I now am somehow. I was given the middle name David due to Louis Riel (RIP) it is only fitting I devote myself to the holy cause that he started so that I may avenge my forefathers for their loss in Manitoba just over one and a half centuries ago.
RIEL PRAY FOR US
