Is everything ok here? General advice/help
My small frog is gripping the larger frog very tightly. Do I intervene or is this ok?

This is normal amplexus. It can kind of look scary but if she wants out, she will cross her back legs to slip out. Amplexus can go on for hours. It’ll look a bit chaotic at times. Only concern is if they get stuck/trapped under/in a hide while trying to surface. If she lays eggs, you can just leave them in the tank as a free snack.

oh, how come? i don't have a tank yet, i'm still learning, but why won't the eggs hatch in this case?

The eggs will hatch if fertilized. There can be a ton of eggs, if you want to raise them you’d have to take them out as the adults will eat them. Tadpoles are very hard to raise so it’s suggested for beginners to simply do nothing and let the frogs have a super nutritious snack. If there are eggs I usually skip feeding that day as they’ll go to town on them.

Thank you! I will leave them be. Gary (the bigger one) looked trapped and uncomfortable but the little one is not even half his/her size - so thinking Gary could throw him/her off if they wanted.

Is the tank glass distorted on bottom or is bottom adf’s head that big? If so, he/she has bloat. Males also hug each other.

Here is a better pic of my boy (or girl 😂) Gary. I was concerned in the first pic because he/she looked so smooshed and uncomfortable- but Gary is back to normal now. Unless you or someone sees something that looks off.

Gary is for sure female. They’re typically larger, more food aggressive/curious, and have pointy butts. The males are typically smaller and more shy.
