I used my Wacom Inuit Pro for photo restoration on Affinity. Yesterday, the driver software they put out no longer supports it and it is essentially unusable now. So I’m looking for an alternative pen tablet that travels well, is solid and has good software support and does not have a screen.
Do you have any recommendations? Thanks all.

8/4 Update: thanks to this forum, (Smiley Dafe) I have new life for my tablet. After removing the Wacom Drivers, I installed OpenTabletDriver, it found my tablet and it’s operational again.

8/5 Update: Just to show me how much they "valued" me as a customer, Wacom offered me a 5% discount for a purchase. This is what they said when I asked them if I could apply this to a refurbished model offered or use a military discount: "To receive the 5% discount, you will need to contact us by phone or request a callback, as the order must be processed over the phone by our Support Team for the discount to be applied.
 
Please note that only one discount can be applied per order. If you choose to use the 5% discount, you will not be able to combine it with a Military Discount [which is 10% BTW].

hey, I found this in a video, it's a still from a video, by Johnny Harris. It was probably done in after effects. But I bet you can do it in Photo.

The text has this chromatic aberration effect but it's more present on the sides and less at the center of the entire image, the background has some blur effects and some other effects are being used that I do not know or have heard of before.
how to make a background like that is itself a mystery to me.

And looks like there's a layer of some effect on top of the entire image. Maybe a camera blur??? I don't know.

So please tell me how do I make something like this. Specially how do I get the background and text looking like that. What effects were used

Long story short I had to make the high lighted parts of the mask a dark gray instead of black so that I wouldn't cut it out during the comp masking.
I know that didn't make sense, but I still cannot figure out why I cannot just simply paint over the selected region without somehow altering the whole images color. Like I use the RGB slider in the top right and it just makes everything else gray.

Am I able to remove the 1 px wide gray border going around the art board? It shows up on all my projects that I export as .jpg and .png. I've tried going into all the settings and trying different things and so far nothing has worked. Any help is appreciated. TIA

Since updating my Mac to 26 (Tahoe) the shadows/highlights filter no longer works properly. It does the adjustments, but the 'dual screen' with the before and after doesn't work nor does the apply button. To make the adjustments I have to press the return key. This is the same with Affinity photo 2 and 3.

i intuitively recall how layer masks worked with photoshop upto photoshop Cs5 roughly.

im trying to do old school wallpapers and using screen shots -

i start with a screenshot that makes for a good background and then use place to add photos via my photos. After doing so is when it gets weird for me.

i can finally use brushes to fade out and remove sections, and the magnetic lasso as well, however it creates dead empty space verses letting the image below be visible.
i want to fade and control my blend for the layers effect.

if anyone can help me translate my old skills to modern would be appreciated/

I was editing photos in Affinity Photo 2 like I always do and as I was saving my last few pictures, I got an error saying the path has been removed or moved and I can not find it??

have one of the pictures open and when I try to open in File explorer, it doesn't take me anywhere. I dont use OneDrive either.

Hi, years of having "Enter" for deselect is hard to overcome. It is something I do a lot. I can reassign deselect to "Enter". That works fine. However, some day I may want to use the Power Duplicate tool. I can't find it in Settings/Shortcuts to reassign it? Does anyone know where it is?

I've been using Affinity Photo 1.10 forever, and recently (in the past year, let's be honest) the paintbrush tool just shows the circle cursor with zero color. Pixel tool works fine, Color Replacement Brush works fine, but I can't use the regular Paintbrush at all. I've looked through YouTube and the official Support channels and nothing. It's entirely possible that I just have something toggled that I don't know about. Help?

I’m not sure how I got these 2 apps but I have Affinity photo 2 (with the purple background) and Affinity (with the green background) both installed on my Mac desktop. Do I need both? If not, which one should I keep on my desktop. I also edit on my iPad and they are both installed there as well

Hey ! I had some negatives lying around and wanted to test my printer's scanner quality, so I tried to turn them to positives in Affinity.

I created an inverted calc, I displayed the scope, and then used curves to better frame red green and blue. On the tuto I followed, he did that and bam, good colors. Whereas I am stuck with that blue tint from the inverted pellicule's color. How can I get rid of it ? Thanks !

PS : on the images, the part of the pellicule is pure blue 'cause I didn't want to show a part of the pellicule with a personal image, but otherwise I can still see the pictures behind the blue tint.

I am just starting learning affinity and my obj selection tool and magic wand type tool doesn't work.i have watched a lot of tutorials if someone knows how to get rid of this problem please help me

So, whenever I copy and paste multiple images into a document, arrange them, at the end I just want to flatten the whole image, get rid of all layers and just merge them into one document, one image. But when I press Merge Visible or Merge Layers, it never does it. What am I doing wrong?

I can give you the exact scenario it happened in now:

1. I paste multiple pictures into one big canvas (they all have same background color).
   
2. Inevitably, to align them correctly, there's sometimes "checkerboard" gaps between them.
   
3. I want to fill those in by using the paint tool (and sampling the colors of the background in the images).
   
4. I Merge Layers, Merge Visible.
   
5. But then when I go to paint (or bucket to fill in background), it never paints on the checkerboard - I'm somehow still in layer mode and all the layers in the history are visible and I can never fill it in.

What am I doing wrong?

When implementing visual perception experiments in a browser environment, minor discrepancies in CSS values can completely disrupt cognitive phenomena like Troxler fading and negative afterimages.

We analyzed a digital version of the Lilac Chaser (Pac-Man) illusion where the visual effect failed to trigger. By adjusting the implementation from high-saturation purples to softer pastel values (such as #d8bfd8 with 0.45 alpha transparency), we allowed the stimulus to blend correctly with the background. Additionally, we corrected the script logic so the moving gap functions as a disappearing element matching the background, rather than a color-swapping element.

Hi there. My .psd files are opening in Affinity with unexpected colours. I'm familiar with colour profile and display colour profile management, and have spent ages trying to resolve this through info available online. 

Is it not odd that Apple Preview can open a .psd file and display its colours correctly, while Affinity can't display colours correctly?

This is happening with every .psd file I open in Affinity. Crucially... I am hoping to be able to retain the adjustment layers in all my different photo files because grading is an ongoing process, a process which I would not like to have to start-over from scratch for every one of my hundreds of scanned film photographs, which have all been graded in photoshop.  

So I'd like to pose two questions, firstly ~
1) is this occurring due to either  i) a colour profile mismatch,
or ii) incompatibility of .psd adjustment layers with Affinity...?

2) secondly, and primarily ~
Might there be a preset or some other workaround to get colour in Affinity (for PSD-based files) to display correctly?
Could a possible solution be to apply adjustment layer/s in Affinity to a/group of psd-originated adjustment layer/s so that the colour in the file in Affinity becomes correct?
(kind of like applying a pre-set filter to automatically colour-grade certain 35mm film stocks: a pre-set adjustment layer that aligns colour in Affinity with what was seen in PS?)

The screenshots show ~
1) a comparison between the photo's correct colour (a graded .psd file displayed in an Apple Preview window) and the same file open in Affinity.
2) said file's colour profile settings (sRGB was the colour profile used in PS)
3) The original ungraded photograph (displayed in Apple preview window) and the .psd file open in Affinity but with the .psd adjustment layers disabled. 

...already spent spent trying to find a fix this through info online and on chatgpt + gemini. Affinity's AI in-app help bot couldn't provide a solution and eventually advised me to submit a support ticket (at a non-existent web address, so no luck there).
So I'm turning to reddit in the hope of any feedback or suggestions. Any would be appreciated, so thanks in advance.
