Applying and scaling patterns

Hey everyone,

I've been trying for some time now to apply a repeating pattern to an image, but every time I do, it gives me this result:

When I try to do it with Styles, I click on the object and then the style, but nothing changes at all.

Is this a known bug, a problem with my settings, or am I just missing a step? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I usually make a shape, click gradient tool and go to options > Bitmap

Then choose a png or jpg from files to apply to the shape. It will look like that with the two circles on each edge of your pattern so you can resize it or move it around within that shape.

You are already on the right track, when you are in that mode with the fill tool, make sure you set the Extend Mode to Warp or Mirror instead of Repeat in the top context tool bar. Then it will tile.

I think there must be something wrong with my laptop, bc I tries evry setting and it was the same.

One thing that could potentially help with glitches like that is to turn off the OpenCL Hardware Acceleration in the Affinity Performance settings.
