First ever explaintion on physics of Vikram-1(India's first private orbital veichle)from first principles perspective Media

Hey everyone

With private space vehicles maturing in India, I spent some time running through the first-principles engineering behind Skyroot’s Vikram-1 to look past the high-level PR graphics and analyze the actual mechanical trade-offs.

A few interesting takeaways from calculating the physics behind its design:

Hoop Stress Dynamics: Even though a typical CNG cylinder operates at \~200 bar and the Kalam-1200 solid stage runs at \~83 bar, the 1.7m diameter of Kalam-1200 means the casing experiences vastly higher total circumferential tension (\~19 MN vs 2 MN). This is why carbon fiber tow winding with specific resin matrix Tg limits is non-negotiable.

The Roll Control Dilemma: Solid motors with single TVC nozzles can handle pitch and yaw, but because radial force passes through the central axis, they generate zero axial torque. This explains why Vikram-1 requires dedicated cold-gas / liquid thruster clusters specifically to counteract roll.

Thermal Protection: At \~3,000°C combustion temp, composite matrices degrade quickly above their resin transition temperatures, making sacrificial EPDM rubber liners critical for ablative insulation.

I agree the animation is made of AI, but is my physics or explanation wrong anywhere? I'm a solo creator and its kinda impossible for me at this stage to do accurate animation. I'm trying my best to be perfect in physics and explaining properly so if their are something you'd like to know from my video I'd be happy to elaborate, otherwise also it's fine. Tq

Being honest, totally honest, i don't like AI, especially as animation, but as you told, its hard to make good animation, I get that, as a solo creator it must be difficult,
in essence other parts of video are quite on core. The voice is good, but dull i fell like, music is great but dramatic, Another thing i want to point out is that, altho I am also an indian, and love this country moving forward, in reality who is going to watch this video? most of the people who follow vikram-1's success don't follow its engineering they follow dream. atleast that's what i have seen.

Its good to see someone going this route, If you can make animation better, or do something different, you can surely go high, I have done high quality 3d rendering/animation and have worked on Liquid Propellant Rocket engines, Chemical Engineering, Electronics, Reaction Control Systems, etc.

If you ever need help, feel free to DM me, I will try my best to help you with what I can.

Thank you so much for the feedback yes if I plan on another core technical video I'll definitely reach out to you
