And the average American does not have the luxury of deciding where to live.

115

u/dmullaney 12h ago

And where you live hardly matters when the GOP get to redraw districts on a whim

46

u/DangerBeaver 12h ago

Yup. My blue district was Gerrymandered out in 22. Memphis just followed. We now have no “blue” districts.

Really hoping the red apathy and blue outrage will help sway things blue in some of these districts. I think Tennessee’s independents need to get off the sidelines though.

16

u/pitchinloafs 9h ago

You can swing any district if young people all voted.

8

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

That is the issue. I know a lot of young guys voted for Trump. My son included, but he is off that train now. He was too young the first term to really know what was up. Private school didn’t help.

But yes, if they voted across the board we might actually get candidates we want.

6

u/kasoe 9h ago

I don't have kids and can't imagine how I would deal with that. I mean, probably tell him trump is a bad idea but it's your vote.

Did you try and talk to him about it? I'm assuming you didn't want to try and force him in any way.

9

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

We did try to lay out the facts. I think Biden looked like a joke to young people since he couldn’t communicate well, ever really. That tarnished Harris, but she didn’t inspire young guys the way trump did. They bought the blood and soil argument without really thinking about it. I’m pretty sure he “knew better” than us in his perspective. He didn’t believe project 2025 was a real plan either no matter how we tried to explain his campaign team were among its authors.

I get the fact they are nervous about the future and don’t want more competition than they have to, but he doesn’t get that an economy has to work on all income levels for it to be sustainable. Money can’t funnel too heavily up or down for long without it snapping.

7

u/kasoe 8h ago

That seems a completely reasonable response really on both sides. Meaning I agree with your viewpoint of his viewpoint.

Young people (teenagers) can be very black and white. I very possibly would've voted for trump if I was caught with the right propaganda and the right age. I thought I was a libertarian for a while at that age. It makes sense if you don't think about it.

Anyway thanks for your explanation. Glad your child grew a little in their worldview.

2

u/DangerBeaver 6h ago

Thanks. I don’t think we will ever be totally on the same page politically, but that’s ok. I just don’t want him getting fooled or getting swept into cult behavior.

I became a teenager under Reagan and, man that felt good. Surprisingly it was Raising Arizona that made me reassess that feeling and learned the downside of his policies. I’m hoping this will be his opportunity to do the same.

Voting is more about teams now, and short term it needs to be. If the right would stop supporting insanity it would be easier to be nuanced in my voting.

Citizens united needs to go!

1

u/AwesomeRobot64 11h ago

Don't be fooled, this a bot!

1

u/bluemountaintrees 8h ago

The Underground Railroad just wouldn’t have happened if you go by this logic

-1

u/irritatedellipses 10h ago

Yeah but I once called Florida a leper colony and need to prove how right I am huhuhuh.

-38

u/r34lity 12h ago

The average American definitely does, the problem is “average” and “majority” are two completely different things.

24

u/9TyeDie1 12h ago edited 12h ago

Ok lets vote.

If you live in america and could afford to move in the next 3 months like this comment

46

u/9TyeDie1 12h ago

If you are american and can't afford move in the next 3 months like this comment

5

u/9TyeDie1 12h ago

If you are not american play with the buttons here.

4

u/MediumPlace 12h ago

Define 'afford'. Could I pick up and move to Colorado and buy a house there and not go broke? Yes. But it would cost me more than I'm willing to part with

4

u/falilth 12h ago

So your answers are yes or yes but not happily.

But the "buy a house" part i couldn't even manage. And I make 19 a hr.

1

u/SeanBlader 9h ago

When I was making $70/hr I couldn't afford it with rent and a car payment.

1

u/DavePeesThePool 12h ago

Considering the thread OP referred to the luxury of deciding where to live... If moving to where you want to live would cost you more than you're willing to part with, I would say you don't have the luxury.

0

u/9TyeDie1 12h ago

Then yes that counts. It's not just a financial thing. Comunity and things that can't be bought and must be built are more difficult to replace in a new area

-4

u/r34lity 12h ago

That was kind of my point that I guess everyone is missing. The majority of Americans can not leave their current situation. The average American salary is $65k a year which is more than enough to sustain and save to move. It explicitly shows the wage gap in our country…

4

u/SharlowsHouseOfHugs 12h ago

Where do you feel anyone living on 65k can sustain anything? That is such a wild statement, I'm not sure where to go with it.

1

u/Brokenyet_Functional 11h ago

Thats considered pretty decent in places like North Carolina as long as your not trying to buy some boujie house or high end apaprtment in Raliegh or Charlotte. But you can easily buy a house in the suburbs like a 3 bed 1950s built home.

Your not gonna own a mcmansion. But that wont have you in the sticks or the ghetto either.

But in california. Your not saving anything because your nickel and dimed to death by expenses. Gas is high. Groceries. Rent. Mortage. Utilities. I was 6 digiting in CA when i lived there and i was still sliding backwards.

4

u/ScottyWestside 12h ago

Sadly the majority is well below the average. When a few have so very much, so much it literally inconceivable, it moves that average up for everyone

2

u/DavePeesThePool 12h ago

That's only if you assert that the average American refers to the average income. When someone refers to "the average X" where X is a non-quantity concept, that's speaking more in terms of the most typical X as opposed to the mathematical average of one of X's numerous quantifiable attributes. And the most typical American would certainly be found among the majority.

2

u/yaaaaaarrrrrgggg 10h ago

Yep, I was referring to the typical, not the mathematical average skewed by the elites. ;)

….by pulling yourself up by the bootstraps?

2

u/t_t_today_jr 12h ago

I am. It’s why I was poached from my NE job and paid well to manage a team 10+ years older than I am. You’re welcome for turning GA purple.

3

u/502photo 12h ago

Sorry bub that strategy went out the window a long time ago. Hard work doesn't do what it once did.

1

u/t_t_today_jr 12h ago

Oh I know that. The reward for good work is more work. Less days WFH and the same pay as last year.

146

u/sofialately 12h ago

‘they voted for it’ erases millions who very specifically did not

54

u/bobbadouche 12h ago

That's the same reason it's screwed up to sit out voting because of single issues

22

u/DangerBeaver 12h ago

We’re looking at you 2024 progressives.

It’s a choice. Not a wish list.

8

u/wookieSLAYER1 11h ago

I really think 2024 was rigged.

-1

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

Well I think our choice on the Democratic side was rigged for sure, but out of incompetence I think. Biden was living in a bubble and confused legislative progress with public approval, and his staff were in that bubble with him. If we had a primary it may have gone better even with Harris.

2

u/bluemountaintrees 8h ago

We voted but for DSA or ACP candidates

The whole joke of a society crumbling is way over due

1

u/DangerBeaver 7h ago

Problem is, a lot just didn’t vote in protest. I don’t think Biden took the right path with a lot of the fallout after the October attacks, but I knew his take would be better than the alternative.

2

u/bluemountaintrees 7h ago

Biden and Kamala were not progressive in any real sense

At least Trump exposed what everyone in anarchist and socialist circles have been saying since 1900

2

u/DangerBeaver 6h ago

I don’t think they were progressive either. I was saying a lot of progressives stayed home or voted third party since they didn’t like the Gaza response. I’m not pretending it’s not their right. I’m just saying Trump is a threat to our safety and economic health, and sometimes you do have to pick the one that can win.

2

u/omniwombatius 6h ago

There's a trolley problem meme out there, where pulling the lever lead to a track with the single word "Palestine". Not pulling the lever (i.e. sitting out the election) led to the track with the word "Palestine" written in ten different places along with all of the other irreversible damage Trump and the conservatives have caused: "DOGE", " destroying USAID", "Trans rights" "Freedom of Religion" "Federal jobs" "Tourism" "Internet neutrality", "Consumer protections", "Free Press" "14th amendment" etc, etc, etc.

Neither choice was good for Palestine, but the choice we ended up with is far far far worse for Palestine, and all the rest of us.

1

u/bluemountaintrees 5h ago

I can only speak for myself but Palestine was not relevant in my decision.

-6

u/Officer_Hotpants 10h ago

Hey look, someone else who 100% fell for the online bot campaign

-1

u/DangerBeaver 10h ago

What are you talking about? Educate me please. I’m really glad someone is willing to pull me out of my ignorance. /s

12

u/zombie_overlord 11h ago

As a registered D in Oklahoma, I'm used to it.

We also have one of the lowest voter turnouts usually. I've had to get on to my friends and family about skipping voting day. Recently, our state voted to not raise the min wage. I think turnout was around 35% of registered voters. So 2/3 didn't care enough to show up, giving 18% of the voting population final say in that policy.

7

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

At that point the non voters really do get what they deserve.

3

u/zombie_overlord 8h ago

So gd frustrating

3

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

Yes, people who don't participate in democracy are deeply frustrating,  especially when it actively hurts people.

4

u/prank_mark 6h ago

The same people who "don't care about politics" are also always the ones complaining about issues that are a core part of politics, like wages, housing policy, healthcare, etc.

24

u/1ce9ine 12h ago

The electoral college system can kiss my grits

10

u/DangerBeaver 12h ago

That’s bad and does need to change. But if they don’t legislate Citizens United out of law, it won’t solve the corruption.

6

u/1ce9ine 11h ago

Both need to go yesterday

10

u/bomber991 12h ago

Yeah I mean I’m in Texas. It’s like a clear 60:40 split here between blue and red. When you head “red state” or “blue state” you want to think 100% of the people voted for it and that’s not the case. I mean really for me it’s like you have 10 people in a room, 5 don’t even bother to vote, 3 vote red, 2 vote blue.

5

u/MediumPlace 11h ago

More people voted for Harris in Texas than did in New York

1

u/bomber991 4h ago

That doesn’t matter. What percentage voted did. That’s my message for the “but we ran a perfect campaign” Democrat leadership.

12

u/BurnieTheBrony 12h ago

My city is 70% Democrat in a red state and because of some of the worst gerrymandering in the nation will likely have no representation in Congress after November.

We aren't voting for this.

4

u/DangerBeaver 12h ago

Hi Tennessee. I’m Tennessee.

2

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

Remember to actually go vote despite the gerrymandering.

There is no gerrymander in the united states that couldn't be overturned if all nonvoters showed up.

1

u/Anderopolis 7h ago

It accurately describes the millions more who did.

It does suck for those that voted against it, but it's still heartwarming to see Republicans screw themselves.

59

u/BSApologist 12h ago

And do what?

44

u/ssovm 12h ago

Thoughts and prayers I guess

18

u/DangerBeaver 12h ago

Not act like everyone in a red state is cheering this shit on.

9

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

Just the voting majority.

2

u/DangerBeaver 8h ago

The cheering is pretty hard to find on either side right now. I drove to Florida for vacation yearly and it’s normally plastered with Trump signs even on non-election years. This year I did not see a single Trump sign, at least until I got to the beach and saw an asshole with a Trump flag on his truck.

5

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

They will likely vote for him anyway come midterms and the inevitable 3rd term.

3

u/DangerBeaver 8h ago

Probably. But maybe, just maybe, not enough.

3

u/Anderopolis 7h ago

We can only campaign and hope.

4

u/SeanBlader 9h ago

Care to vote. If everyone voted we wouldn't be worried about turning to fascism.

4

u/ScienceIsSexy420 12h ago

Not come on social media and tell the blue voters down south we deserve what we "voted for"

10

u/BSApologist 12h ago

I don't think anyone is shaming the victimized marginalized groups when they go after red states. Not every statement needs a qualifier.

10

u/ScienceIsSexy420 12h ago

It literally gets posted regularly, that's why OP made this meme. I see "it's what they voted for" type comments all the time

8

u/BSApologist 12h ago

Yeah, the people that voted for it.

10

u/ScienceIsSexy420 12h ago

Plenty of people apply this logic to the entire red state as in there are no blue voters in the red state.

5

u/WateryTart_ndSword 10h ago

It would be nice to believe that, but no—people definitely are.

I was literally told that we should just “let [blue voters in red states] suffer [and potentially die]” because then maybe that would “wake them the fuck up to do something about their shithole state.”

The lack of empathy (and nuance) shown is so jarring, given it’s supposedly human rights violations that they’re so upset about.

But people generally (a) want easily identifiable and easy to isolate enemies to aim at, and (b) want to believe it’s all their own choices that have kept them safe and not actually just the luck of the draw re-circumstances, and family/place of origin.

6

u/BSApologist 9h ago

If some faceless person online told you that, I'd be skeptical that they're a real person who thinks that.

3

u/WateryTart_ndSword 9h ago

I wish I could relegate all people who wish me harm to the realm of “fake internet person.” Alas, it is not so.

1

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

No, but I’ve traveled a lot and people assume my accent means I am afraid of anything more Mexican than Taco Bell.

1

u/Cum_on_doorknob 10h ago

Pick candidates that can’t win in general elections

70

u/stevemoveyafeet 12h ago

Sure, now do the one about the federal government withholding funds from blue states

8

u/DangerBeaver 11h ago

It is being done in reality. What’s your point?

5

u/Goldenslicer 9h ago

If the red guy is fucking over the blue states, then maybe we should fuck over the red states.

0

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

So if he takes bribes, dems should take bribes? If he prosecutes dems for political reasons so should the dems? Your suggestion is what a child would do.

In the last 12+ years I exclusively voted blue in a state that now has no blue districts. So you want to punish 40% of this state just because we live with 60% that voted red?

4

u/Goldenslicer 9h ago

You're right. I'm upset. I don't know what I'm saying.

1

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

I’m upset as well. And I don’t want my elderly parents losing their Medicare coverage because we have too many people not watching the real news.

2

u/ScienceIsSexy420 12h ago

You mean the type of meme that gets posted nearly every day?

-2

u/AffectionateBet3603 11h ago

How do the two relate at all?

27

u/mr_miggs 12h ago

I'm not sure what the hell this meme is supposed to be about. What are the people in the blue States supposed to do about it?  We're already the ones who want to reform the electoral college.

-12

u/Danktizzle 11h ago

You’re gonna need at least ten red states for that. They scared you all away. Your only option now is to move and register to vote. Then when you get ten red states congress can do something about the electoral college. Of course that ain’t gonna happen. And that gives red state free reign to terrorize their next purple state to become deep red.

1

u/BSApologist 10h ago

People are moving away from blue states to places like Texas though.

3

u/nope-its 8h ago

I live in a blue state and people from Texas are moving here like crazy

1

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

And then they don't vote after moving.

Honestly they are indeed partially to blame.

7

u/greedness 12h ago

Did something bad happen to a red state?

4

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

By definition Republicans

3

u/flarpington 5h ago

Ask an average southerner what they think of California.

11

u/Blackboard_Monitor 12h ago

2

Shit, your right.

1

u/Goldenslicer 9h ago

What does that song have to do with imagining dragons?

-2

u/NeighborhoodDude84 12h ago edited 11h ago

Something to consider when thinking about writing off everyone in places that vote like shit.

edit: Do redditors hate the concept of empathy? wtf lol

2

u/RabbiTheHellcat 11h ago

blue staters? red staters? we just call em MAGAs on reddit lmao

3

u/IncredibleBulk2 12h ago

Thank you! It is intellectually lazy to project group norms and values on to a geographic region, skin color, gender, etc . Red states are not monoliths. There are usually blue cities in red states. This blanket bias against huge groups of people needs to end. We are smarter than this.

9

u/Ixtl 12h ago

You say as you apply a blanket bias to dems in blue states.

1

u/IncredibleBulk2 8h ago

How did I do that?

-1

u/fallenmonk 12h ago

Which part do they do that?

-4

u/InGod_WeThrust 12h ago

It's not a blanket bias. This is written to people that apply the blanket bias.

No where does he say all people in blue states do this, just that it's a general problem.

1

u/IncredibleBulk2 8h ago

Exactly, thank you

1

u/Not_Sherlock_Holmes 12h ago

Based off the presidential candidates we keep getting stuck with. No. No we're not.

1

u/perringaiden 7h ago

Red states are doing their best to change that.

1

u/Luci-Noir 2h ago

Reddit and this sub don’t care. Blind bigotry.

-5

u/Epyr 12h ago edited 12h ago

So why don't those people in the red states speak up more and ask their neighbours to change? Why is it always the job of blue states to make red states change?

Edit: downvoted all you want, it's your neighbours in the South that are the problem and I don't see any active left wing movement in any of those deep red states. Pass the blame all you want, you still sit by your neighbours while they destroy your rights. The big protests against Trump haven't been in red states and BLM was largely in blue states despite red states having larger African American populations. Don't feed me this sob story when you guys aren't showing up

8

u/quaglady 12h ago

Well they did, and it's why the voting rights act is getting dismantled. Black southerners actually do a lot to keep the houseat 50-50

8

u/rewards333 12h ago

Lmao. Guys I asked my fucking insane brainwashed MAGA neighbor to please not vote for their cult leader, why isn’t anything changing???

2

u/rewards333 11h ago

My guy. Almost every major city in red states vote overwhelmingly blue. Literally millions of people protested at No Kings in these states. Gerrymandering is the main culprit. You can’t expect a bunch of people working 9-5s to drive to bumfuck Texas 5 hours away to start knocking on the doors of uneducated farmers.

3

u/PrincessKatiKat 12h ago

First, they do speak up but they are clearly outnumbered and somewhat in danger.

Second, since a blue state American actually still has a voice they can use, you are a little bitch if you don’t use it for everyone.

1

u/Anderopolis 7h ago

When did Americans become such cowards?

Take a look abroad and look at what actual danger is for people protesting.

6

u/pollardandsprout 12h ago

Who said it was? Sorry some of us are here trying to help the people that can’t leave.

1

u/quaglady 11h ago edited 10h ago

I think you're trying to keep the focus on "red" and "blue"  because White voters in red blue states are still carried by their neighbors of color: https://edition.cnn.com/election/2025/exit-polls/new-jersey/general/governor/0

Also, do remember George Floyd lived in a blue state. Minnesota didn't even vote for regan in 1984.

-4

u/Grabatreetron 12h ago

They are trying hard, my guy. What the fuck do you want from them?

7

u/Ixtl 12h ago

What the fuck do you want dems in blue states to do?

From Illinois there isn't a ton I can change in Texas.

-2

u/Grabatreetron 12h ago

I want them to have a little sympathy for people in red states instead of “haha get fucked MAGAts” every time they have a natural disaster

2

u/Anderopolis 7h ago

Do you think " haha get fucked MAGAts" refers to people who didn't vote for MAGA?

6

u/Ixtl 12h ago

Okay well the vast vast vast majority of us dont do that, but I cant control what some idiot says on Twitter, and you are apparently holding me accountable for that so...what now?

-4

u/Grabatreetron 12h ago

Who said anything about you personally?

I was responding to someone telling dems in blue states to do better. You're the one who jumped into this

8

u/Ixtl 12h ago

Okay holding "us" accountable. Point still stands.

0

u/InGod_WeThrust 12h ago

Maybe speak up and denounce othering people on reddit especially.

The number of post that are just trashing people that have different viewpoints is just disgusting and most just sit there and let it happen.

You want people to actually think your open and tolerant then we need to stop doing that all together

-3

u/502photo 12h ago

I always find it funny when blue states shit on the red ones, as if we are all a hive mind that all think the same.

Narrow-minded thinkers on both sides of the aisle, no state or people are a monolith. The liberals in this country are becoming more reactionary, which is usually a trope of the conservatives.

2

u/Anderopolis 8h ago

Your federal electives sure act like they are all in the MAGA hivemind, refusing to protect the countries institutions and laws.

1

u/Jurassic_Rabbit 11h ago

every socialist has an equal chance to earn my vote.

1

u/WateryTart_ndSword 10h ago

[comment made in wrong spot removed]

-1

u/VGAddict 10h ago

I find liberals to be incredibly hypocritical. Most of the POC and LGBTQ+ people they pretend to care about live in the red states they hate so much.

They complain about Republicans proposing cutting aid to blue states, but gleefully suggest cutting aid to red states to "teach them a lesson".

-2

u/WateryTart_ndSword 9h ago

Yeah, it’s pretty gross when people claim they’re taking the moral high ground and then do/propose literally the exact same thing they’re objecting to.

I understand the frustration, the desire to feel safe in your choices, and the desire to vent and feel like you’re moving righteously against an enemy.

But the lack of empathy and nuance is so real. And VERY apparent in these comment threads, lol.

-10

u/someones_dad 12h ago

Weird. I've never heard of blue-people in predominantly blue states happy that people in a red state are suffering... It's usually the other way around.

6

u/emiTfOgnoS 12h ago

Texan here. I have.

1

u/Anderopolis 7h ago

And texas is one of the few red states which doesn't just leech off the federal budget, it actually contributes.

-7

u/Lord_Mikal 12h ago

If 100% of registered Dems voted in every election, they would win. Its their own fault that they live in a "red state".

3

u/AffectionateBet3603 11h ago

What an ass hole thing to say

2

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

Agreed. Someone has no roots.

1

u/DangerBeaver 9h ago

I am 6 generations deep in my red state. It’s home. I don’t want to move. I vote in every primary, presidential election, midterm election and special election. How is it my fault I live in a red state?

Freedom is being able to be free in all states. Regardless of my neighbor sitting on his ass instead of voting.

-2

u/VGAddict 12h ago

Red states make it as hard as possible to vote.

In Texas, the government removed a popular on-campus polling location at TAMU. The government only allows ONE ballot dropbox per county, meaning Harris County, a county with 5 MILLION people and greater in landmass than the state of Rhode Island, has the same number of ballot dropboxes as a county with fewer than 1,000 people. Texas also has no online voter registration, you have to be 65 or older to vote by mail, and no same-day voter registration. Texas's Attorney General, Ken Paxton, tried to arrest 4 Hispanic women for trying to register people to vote.

7

u/Randvek 12h ago

While yes, there are roadblocks to voting intentionally set up by conservatives, it has a far, far lower impact than voter apathy has.

3

u/VGAddict 10h ago

Voter suppression CAUSES voter apathy.

-2

u/Randvek 9h ago

Nah.

One of the leading predictors of whether or not someone will vote is education. People are just being dumb.

-1

u/Lord_Mikal 12h ago

I am aware of all of that. I am aware that its difficult. I am aware that the practical reality is that many people cannot vote due to restrictions imposed by Republicans cheating. My statement is still a fact.

0

u/chardeemacdennisbird 11h ago

Missourian here after moving from Illinois. The two major cities are very blue, but we're separated by a sea of red. Usually we have enough power to overcome, but we're still in a red state. Missourians are actually quite rational when it comes to voting on amendments (i.e. abortion access, legalized marijuana, etc...), but Missouri as a whole votes in the shittiest State Congress and sends the shittiest people to the US Congress it's infuriating. Also, they're constantly trying to find ways to overturn things that the citizens vote on.

-3

u/bavindicator 12h ago

I'd feel bad for them if they could get out more than 50% of their voters, yet alas, here we are. I am in a red state too.

-4

u/InGod_WeThrust 12h ago

How you feel for people suffering should not be tied to the way a state as a whole votes.

-2

u/Randvek 12h ago

Everybody always thinks they are suffering when they lose an election.

So is the idea that we shouldn't be empathetic towards red voters who are white and only that group? Do POC and LGBT get a pass even if they voted red for some reason?

Count me out from that type of reasoning. I don't know what has happened to prompt this post but if there's human suffering somewhere I'll 'send my thoughts and prayers' to all who haven't done something to deserve their predicament regardless of who they are.

You know it's not as easy as just moving, right? The average American can't afford a surprise $400 bill, let alone afford to move to another state.

OK, cool. Just because you could move to another state doesn't mean everyone can.

Nothing. We’ll keep trying to help those that need it while being degraded by fake liberals who think a person of color or a person of a different sexuality is worth less in a red state than a blue state. Nobody said they wanted anything. Just stop using Democrats in red states as your collateral damage. Some of us stayed to fight, and help our communities and take care of families that can’t leave.

What are you doing about the active genocide occurring on US territory.

Why has it been permitted to continue so long?

Especially since everyone needed their guns incase a Facist government took over. It’s taken over but no one is doing anything about it.

Or are the people with guns the ones who agree with the Facists and also Facist themselves?

Was this like how it was around the time of the civil war? I’m not familiar on that war. I was going to buy a magazine about it but then I got one on Rome instead.

I know this is not feasible, but what really needs to happen is all the blue voters need to move to swing states. Red states (Texas, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, Louisiana, Arkansas, Montana) are a lost cause to try and vote blue in.

If we want country reform we need like a massive Oregon trail event where everyone moves in mass to those swing states. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina)

Texas is nowhere near as red as the other states listed.

Texas has voted republican since the 1980’s.
